I actually picked it up and was surprised. Honestly if I'm going to give criticism, they could've done better with some of the animations. But other than that, it's impressive what they've done. It's a good game for anyone new to souls like games to get their feet wet. They give characters a personality which you don't normally see in souls games. All in all, I'd recommend it especially for the price. You're getting good game hours and gameplay.
In a long time, this game is the first in its genre for me. I really like it. The map designs are really good. It looks so massive but they all connect to each other without you ever noticing it. The game's performance is great. However, I'm not so used to the mechanics. I usually play games were movement is a lot more responsive and flexible. I would really like it if I could dash cancel an attack. Every attack actually. That's it.
Yeah! This has been putting me off too. I've been trying to figure out what it is... and I think it's that the legs and torso/arms aren't connected in a realistic way. It's like the legs move independently from the upper body and it's distracting enough to not want to look at it for an entire game. It makes me think "If they can't get the running animation feeling good, I don't trust that the rest of the game will feel good".
Lol I totally feel you all on being skeptical of the running animation. I was too but still bought the game. It does have solid combat and you get used to the running after a while. Lol I think for me what makes the running look weird is that huge Sword holster that moves while she runs... I'd like the option to toggle the visibility on/off for the sword holster and I feel it would improve that visual for me. Similar to being able to toggle on hood/helmet in some rpgs.. 👍
I finished it. It a flawed but kinda enjoyable game. A bit to spamfest with combat and to long for my taste. But about 6.5-7 for me. its ok to spend some days with it but the lack of map and quest markers really dragged it down to the point that you literally can't progress without a guide at some point
Lol, I haven't purchased a physical copy of a game in 9 years, since they stopped putting the game data and updates on disc there is no point, the only difference now is you need the disc and I don't, but if having your redeemable code on a disc makes you happy....
@@mathewhosier9739 You can SHARE and RESELL physical (also collector fetish I guess) all which digital can't do. There is a reason why digital only PS5 is cheaper (less value overall).
@MJ-oi6ul Physicals are rarely what they used to be at this point. I can put soul reaver in my ps1 and it will work just as good as it did 20 years ago. 20 years from now, I can put a physical game in and it will be useless without a bunch of patches
ASTERIGOS: A MORE HONEST REVIEW I will start by pointing out the games flaws first. 1. CHARACTER MOVEMENT TOO SLOW: I feel like I'm moving in slow motion. The character should move at least twice the current speed. There is a run botton, but that uses stamina fast. 2. DIFFICULTY NOT BALANCED: When trying out 'story mode', I found that fights were still DAMN TOUGH! And bosses take minutes to put down. Simply not acceptable for such a mode. 3. MAP TOTALLY SUCKS: There is no traditional map where you can zoom in, see your current location and move around to see where you need to go. 4. BROKEN QUEST SYSTEM: Ridiculous in this day and age of video games, to NOT have a 'select quest' option. There is no way to 'select' a desired quest. They all just appear at the top left of your screen in a bunch. There is also no quest marker to follow. So I found myself wondering around like a blind man going in circles for hours. Not know which way to go at any given point. 5. YOU FEEL LIKE A CHILD IN KINDERGARTEN: The quest giver lays out demands and if you stray from her orders, she scolds you like a child. Instead of just being able to complete the main objective anyway you like, as long as it gets done. Instead you must listen to tons of dialogue where she's bitching about everything you did wrong and threatening to not wanna work with you if your mistakes continue. Obviously, the game designers have unresolved childhood issues! Other than the five things mentioned above, the game is indeed fun, visuals are decent and FPS is SPOT ON! I will definitely play the entire game and am not trying to talk anyone out of buying it. This review just covers the negatives, as I personally see them. And is my own personal opinions. You decide for yourself.
Are you really complaining about the difficulty in a souls like, I played on hardest difficulty, you know, the only way to play a souls like and it was still a little too easy for me, git gud scrub
Do you really want the game to hold your hand the entire time and treat you like a baby??? Sorry this isn't a handholding jrpg that treats you like your an idiot

this game looks bad dude. throw together some soulslike assets, the immortals fenyx rising look and put the standard modern UI on it. virtually nothing about it seems appealing :/
One of the best AA souls like RPGs out there, they did an excellent job with both the combat and progression, the 2 most important elements of any RPG

It’s currently on sale via the PlayStation Store, and I’m copping it ASAP.
Demo on steam was fun. Might pickup later. Thanks for the review
I'm glad you guys are covering this game since it seems to be going under a lot of people's radar.
I feel you folks produce some of the most fair reviews out there.
The redhead?!! In the action game?!!
SOLD!

Game looks fun, it's worth checking out.
Never heard of it before, looks a bit like immortal fenix rising.
I'm tempted to get this game, but Hilda's running animation is really off putting. It looks really weird and inorganic for some reason.
Got that mobile game you see in random ads run

Enjoyed the review but would like the narrator to slow down a bit when reading from the script.

Sweet short review. I won't be getting this right away. Gonna wait for it to be heavily discounted or come to Game Pass.
i refunded this game on steam . just wasn’t satisying for me in terms of combat and convoluted lore
Can the narrator not sound so tired and sleepy? Please get control of your lisp. For a 5 minute video this felt like the speaker was asleep.
