So they replaced two 4 lane 2 shoulder overpasses, with two 4 lane 2 shoulder overpasses of the same width and same height. Some contractor went 'Ka-ching' with this.
no way this is Connecticut , this was waaaaay to fast. Real Connecticut construction takes 2-3 years for a project like this. And if this were Massachusetts , this would have taken damn near 4 years to complete. FACT
first of all in the netherlands we hadded to build a tunnel below a highway and they took about 2 or 1 day with night and day second of all if you rebuild a bridge with new asphalt why dont you renew the road also because now it doesnt look nice with the old ugly road en the new new road
thatamerican550 I think “not looking nice” can be interpreted as the road being total crap, not only visually. There is almost more subsurface visible through the cracks than there is top layer.
Bridge replacement (i.e. money for such) is more important than resurfacing - bridges in general suck in this country, I'd rather live with somewhat shitty roads than to have a bridge give out below me. Of course, it would be nice to have the roads redone, but they probably were not within the timeframe of being renewed (nor having the funds)
I really like all of EarthCam's Videos that's why I come and watch because I love construction Time Laspe So Thank You Earth Cam! 😊
Beautiful teamwork...😍❤👍
What’s shocking is that this wasn’t a 20 year long project like every minor thing in Connecticut
I don't see much difference though from before and after. Great video however!
I think they didnt want really something that Looks Other , i think they wanted the new Technology with more Safety
@@MrKraft-fg7dh "I think they didnt want really something that Looks Other" huh?
@@TWatcher_ lol. Must have been a typo. I did a double take too
Haha! I live in Bridgeport, CT. I remember this construction was going on.

Project wasn’t meant to expand capacity. It was meant to replace a bridge that was in need of replacement.
My doctor says if I continue binge watching time-lapse construction videos, it will shorten my life span. Oh well.
Are you sure this is Connecticut? they didn't take 2 years to do it so I feel like it cant be, haha :P
The existing roadways look like hell compared to the new bridges.

you need to have a 1970's caltrans bridge designs
This would have taken my city a year to complete.
Muito show
what was wrong with the old bridge? looks like a make work project, need to justify the budgets?

Joris Pauws its not about looking nice, its about function. I guess they'll do it later really, just depends on the circumstance

I understand there are no funds, everything is being spend in the Middle East.
The Netherlands is not important.
If it is in China...this is not a time lapsed video. It actually took only 1:35 mins
😂
