- Splatoon 3 is a GREAT game, but even the greats have a few weak spots. There are a few minor problems that just BOTHER me in this game. So today, I've gathered 100 super-duper small inconveniences and put them all in one video! No "major complaints" will be found on this list.

3:58 OH, there's actually a answer to this! If I'm correct about the lore, none of the stages are, like, actual stages, as in they weren't made, in world, for competition. They are just random sites that the inklings and octolings decided to fuck around in. Everything you do in game is competely illegal!

My MAIN issue is the fact that there aren’t enough options for black people. We got afros, “dreads,” and other stuff, but I just want more.
Yeah, it'd be cool to see them bring a bit more diversity in options! Anything is possible, now that the hairstyles no longer follow the "squid/octopus limb limit" rule

They should totally add more stuff from different cultures, the whole point of splatsville is to be a big Mashup of cultures thriving together
could be worse tho. Splatoon is doing pretty great compared to games with just cornrows and an Afro.
- Why can’t I see who has ‘freshed’ my plaza posts? At least tell me how many it has
- Why can’t we choose out ink colours in private battles?
- Why do I have to use an amiibo to pose in photo mode?
My irk is that posing in camera mode is locked to having and using amiibo… it’s definitely possible to just move the camera so the amiibo is out of frame or crop it out later, but it still bugs me! And also the fact that literally posing for a photo is behind a paywall. Plus I don’t always carry my amiibo with me.
On that note as well, a super minor irk is that I have to open the “set scene” menu in photo mode in order to hide the instructions… why not just make it another button… makes no sense to me!
I'd have to say that the Amiibo poses paywall is a pretty major irk due to how much the community dislikes it, but I definitely agree with the set scene option! I really wish it was much easier to toggle the "view controls" much easier as well. Much like how Animal Crossing: New Horizons did it, if you've played that game!

2:27 This one has an explanation! It's to prevent you from abusing a friend teammate DC'ing to mitigate losses and artificially inflate challenge or open power by DC'ing if it looks like you're going to lose
Only thing is this is for the beginning of the first minute, which is normally neutral territory for DCs. If the DC-loss counted after the first minute, then I'd understand!
@@CJ_Hyperfresh As far as I remember it actually does for after as well! Usually a DC mitigates a defeat even if the match isn’t cancelled
@@sonicrunn3r895 DCs within the first minute for turf wars/solo ranked are actually dubbed as "No Contest", so they don't count as a win, or a loss.
Headgear changes color if it covers the inkling's hair as that is how you tell what team someone is on (usually, there are some weird exceptions but I think the only exceptions are ones that are on the greyish/black side). Thats why most hats change color while most glasses don't. If it didn't change color it would be super confusing! Also some gear changes color if it has a matching headgear that also changes color. The one example I can think of it the retro techno suit which changes color and has a matching hat that also changes color. Personally I wish more gear changed color haha. I like monochromatic color schemes!

i miss the way you used to be able to pose with amiibo in splatoon 2 like in splatoon 3 im just kinda standing with them i wanna sit at a table and look at my phone with my silly amiibo friends again 😭
YESSS..... It's so weird how little we're allowed to "interact" with our Amiibo friends. Like, we've got cool poses, yippee, but at the cost of the chill and silly "slice of life" photos

I guess their solution is the 1.5x Catalog Close-Out bonus + 1.2x Splatfest/Big Run bonuses, but I agree!! Tickets would be SUPER nice.

My theory about the camera collision is that the camera has it's own model (which can be seen when you set a timer) and I guess they didn't want the camera model to be clipping into any terrain or NPC.
You bring up a great point, makes sense from that angle! Though still annoying haha 😭
Awesome video!! Some of my minor annoyances are:
1. Why can’t we have a drink ticket and food ticket boost active at the same time? They’re two separate menus and it seems like it would make sense that you could have one of each active.
2. Why are the lower two money boosting tickets exclusive to Salmon Run and the team money boosting ticket exclusive to the Sheldon Drone and Mystery Boxes? Seriously, I only have three team money tickets and like twenty five of all the other tickets and I’m tired of getting EXP tickets in the Shellout Machine.
3. Why does the cancel button for joining a match disappear after like twenty seconds? What if I get bored and change my mind after waiting a long time or have to leave for one reason or another?
4. Why can Grillers splat you after a wave is done, and why does it seem like they go out of their way to do so?
5. Why is Clam Blitz so janky sometimes? I had a teammate throw a power clam into the basket just as it was about to close and it went in but we didn’t get any points and it cost us the match and I’m still salty about it.
6. Why do communication errors after the match is done still count as a loss for you even if you won?
7. Why is there a banner that costs 999 silver scales and one that costs 333 gold scales? There will probably be a new Splatoon game before I ever come close to getting either of those banners.
I love Splatoon 3, but it definitely isn’t perfect.

Oh my God, you’re a life saver! I was wondering why I never got any new team money boosting tickets anymore! I didn’t know you could get ones from the Sheldrone (actually completely forgot about the drone since I don’t enter Alterna anymore after 100 percenting it).
I can understand the pet peeve of #1 but by Octavio I don’t want it changed. Often times there are specific gear seeds that I go through that require me to take off a drink ticket for a food ticket (which counts as having no drink ticket active) and I’d personally be annoyed cuz it forces me to halt my grind for my gear until the drink ticket wears off.
for #3, its usually because at that point you've started connecting to other people. ever get the 'disconnected because someone else disconnected' message? yeah, that's because someone quit out the game or shut off their switch, not because they pressed the leave button. it would happen a LOT more im assuming if you could leave at anytime without having to put in extra effort. i dont know why you cant just have that person leave and reconnect with others, but im assuming its some part of the code that just isnt worth spending time changing.
this is why if you have bad wifi, the leave button doesnt disappear for a long time, you're taking a while to connect to people. that's how i figured this out, from a difference in home and hotspot wifi. ofc i could always be wrong though, lol
My turn :
1. Why are some of the walls in humpback pump track so janky ?
2. Why do we get litterally no money food tickets without salmon run
3. Why can't i try the grizzco weapons when they are in rotation ? (or when it's golden rotation or big run)
4. Why do we still have only 3 ways to communicate during a match ? (This way, booyah and ouch)
5. Where is the new ranked mode ?
6. When will we get new haircuts ?
7. Why do we have to wait till the very end update of the whole game to get a new weapon class for stringer and splatana ?
8. Why are tricolor maps so fun and not in private battles yet ?
9. Why i haven't gotten a single golden prize at the shellout machine ? (I litterally play since releasse and i spend all my freaking money on it)
Don't feel bad about #9, it took me until last week to hit my first gold jackpot, so I hope yours in close as well! It socks that it's based on the set seed, and not actual odds.
my issue is the fact that gold scales are so difficult to get compared to bronze and silver…

The jukebox feels like such a scam cause the song you chose ends so quickly 😭

The song you pick will play to the end and loop endlessly. Only the previews cut out after a few seconds.
Why do we not have apartments in Splatoon 3?
My biggest thing is probably how it says a friend is joinable and then you go to join them and it says the room was closed X hours ago. Like why doesn’t it update live anymore?

I am happy that there is a weaponbased matchmaking in X. Now the chance is low that I'm getting two more backlines in addition to mine while the enemy team has an actual comb

Ok but real talk, we NEED a progression meter or something because I'm tired of guessing how far or close I am to getting a badge
The reason why 30% of the stages are under construction is to be an excuse on why they have 0 side routes! (Excluding Crableg and Sturgeon)

My one is that you can only have a maximum of 40 stickers on your locker. My goal for this game is to get the holo sticker for every main weapon and I can’t put them all on my locker
I guess they had to limit it somehow for entity overload, but I agree it is a shame!
Most of the maps feel out of place in Splatoon 3 like they’d fit more in previous games
Like this game is themed around “chaos” and then you have maps like flounder and ink blot that are like “walk in the park” themed we need more maps like scorge gorge that you’d recognise as being maps debuting in Splatoon 3

@@CJ_Hyperfresh it’s nice to have variety but also another thing to mention is the lack of gimmicks to make the stages stand out from eachother
1. Some pieces of gear can’t be adjusted even though it seems perfectly plausible. And footwear can’t be adjusted AT ALL??
2. The rainmaker is so shiny, it can be hard to see what’s in front of you when you’re carrying it… Or maybe I’m just bad at the game.
3. Splatoween music isn’t available on the jukebox now that the event is over.
4. You can’t wear a hat and glasses at the same time. Huge L for my fellow astigmatism girlies.
5. Sometimes, the advertisements that are supposed to play on the screen in the lobby just… don’t appear.
6. “Someone thinks you’re Fresh!” WHO THOUGH???
Other than that, you covered everything that I could think of. It’s comforting to know that I’m not the only one who gets bothered by these little things
OUGH, them not adding the Splatoween tracks makes me so sad, agreed
i'm so salty that you can't make the splatfest shirts bigger the way you can with most of the basic model shirts 😭
1) Why can’t we order previous catalogue gear after season is finished
2) Why is li’l Judd only present at the end of battles and in tableturf
3) Why can’t we use all the emotes that we’ve gained in the photo mode
4) you mentioned this in the video, but why can’t we change our colours at will or change ink colours in recon or in private battles (especially since this was the feature in Splatoon 2)
5) why can’t hairstyles, eyebrows and leg wear be assigned to a freshest fit
6)Why do the octoling’s mouths look… off…
7) Why are disconnects so frequent
8) why are there no new clothes in the shops or on Splat net 3
9) why is Little Buddy only in Story Mode (the main hub doesn’t count)
10) why does the copy bot only use a splatter shot and splat bomb
11)Why can’t Splatoon 1 and 2 battle music play during online matches (or in private battles)
12) why did they not give us league battle
13) why do challenges have short time windows
14) why are the drop rates of scales from King salmonids so low
15) why is there no recon for tri-colour
Here's mine: Why is ONE Octoling ear modeled and the other is COMPLETLY FLAT???????? It drives me up a wall how STARK the difference between the ears are!
aUGH you're right, that's a HUGE one!! I know it's to replicate the concave siphon of octopus, but MAN does it bother me
I thought you were going to mention the earrings not being able to be toggled. In Splatoon 2, the Splatoon 2 earrings were only on one side if you picked a boy and on both of you picked a girl. I’d want to be able to toggle between those freely like how they did that with some shirts and headgear.
There’s actually a reason for this! They’re meant to resemble the fin and siphon real octopi have. Not all octopi have fins but some such as the Dumbo Octopus do (very cute octopus btw). The siphon is used to push water out which helps propel and steer themselves through the water
And since the little buddy is nice, why aren't there more nice salmonids just walking around?
why can’t we dance/emote in the plaza during a splatfest? it’s been over a year since release and we still can’t get our groove on. that could have been easily mapped to the d-pad and only active during splatfest. let us boogie down with the during a high energy event nintendo. banger video as always, CJ!

Regarding 57 and 58: everything is under construction because Splatsville is having to rapidly expand to accommodate for the recent wave of migrants from Inkopolis, and they build stages near water because they are reckless thrill-seekers.
Why isn't the adjust gear button compatible with Glasses. I want to put the Octoglasses and Pilot goggles on, Nintendo.
Also why is it so frickin difficult to get amiibo gear when you're high leveled it took me a full day to get the Deep Cut shirts and i doubt im close to getting their headgear
Being able to put glasswear on your forehead, or put it on your face would be AMAZING!
I believe that the unlock method to the Amiibo gear is actually 10 wins in battles, not anything to do with your level ups. It still takes an excessive amount of time though (especially when you consider losses are just wasted time).
Here's mine: why is the Annaki Yellow Cuff still not in the game? (It's a piece of gear from Splatoon 2) It was shown in the very first trailer and it's still not available

The running theory is a lot of Splatoon 2 gear/weapons were pushed back with Side Order.
Outside of that though, it's almost like the Gold Dynamo situation- been there since the beginning trailers, but it's taking WAY to long to actually add to the game.
I’d definitely like to see different body types or even other squid/octoling types to pick from in the Splatoon universe! I’d just think they’d be cool :]

Btw seeds are every bit as random as any other method of randomization. It's just generating one massive number once instead of generating one massive number every time you play. There's not really a benefit to regenerating the number, other than preventing players from finding what seed they're on.

Like, why not "good game!" Or "we tried our best!" Or maybe have a system where you can assign a bunch of differences phrases to the four different buttons?
God I am desperate for a "Watch Out!" or "Be Careful!" button as a backline/support player so I can warn my teammates when they go gallivanting off when I can see a bloodthirsty splatana main just waiting for them. Maybe a "Coming!" or "On my way!" button too to get people who spam "This Way!" to shut up
@@dragoncat3499 omg, right!? Thatd be really helpful!! I usually tend to say booyah back to people who are saying this way so i can Hopefully tell them that i heard them and that im on my way, but its VERY difficult to talk through that system!
Or maybe even a way to talk to people in the other team like good game or good luck or something! Sometimes theres a bit too much tension between teams, and it gets a little too competitive sometimes, so itd be nice to be able to say something like that to let the other team know you're not bloodthirsty
THE BIGGEST IRK IN ALL OF SPLATOON IS THAT LINE MARKERS DONT FOLLOW THE AIMING RETICLE!!!
5:05 I can actually answer that! A hacker found out that this happens because the game is synching to the NSO app. It's still weird and a pain but at least it's nothing on our end.

3:29 and 4:34 grinds my gears the most. I play salmon run all the time, and being able to watch replays to view my mistakes will help me improve. Plus, I can view OTHER people's perspectives so I can understand how they play and what works!
The amiibo gear I can relate as well... My issue is there's gear variants that look much more appealing to me, and the marinated top is no exception. Why do I have to rely on a certain legwear that makes my male inkling/octoling LOOK like they're wearing a tank top (Marinated Top) that almost looks worse? They didnt just do this to the Marinated Top. They did it with the Squid Clip-Ons from the neon pink girl amiibo. Want to have 2 earrings? Well, you gotta be a girl instead of a boy. Still irks me to this day.
I had no idea about the S2 earrings 'cause I never got my hands on their amiibo, but that STINKS man 😭😭

You have absolutely NO idea how much the Salmon Run wave breaker one irks me! I always HATED that for a special that could *_REVIVE YOUR WHOLE TEAM_* is left to do absolutely nothing if it’s already been deployed, and you got a crew wipe. JUST LET THE THING RUN, AND GIVE OUR CREW A SECOND CHANCE BEFORE ENDING THE SHIFT/WAVE CODDANGIT!
If Nintendo can add a fade to Animal Crossing, surely they can add it to Splatoon, right?
The octoling top buns are the closest we have to a fade (just wear a hat), so it's definitely possible!
I roughly know the answer as to why the grizzco and turf lobbies aren’t different on the inside if you’re in inkopolis vs splatville
It’s because of the holograms. Unless they put in a code to not show players who aren’t using a certain lobby skin, which isn’t something that’s linked to players as far as i’m aware and isn’t accounted for outside of shop menus, it’s basically impossible to make holograms work when there’s two separate maps for the lobbies.
I think it sucks, personally. But since inkopolis is nothing but a repositioning of loading zones, music and ambience changes, and some color swaps, it’s not really considered a different area and is like irrelevant to game internally. I think it would be cool if the game took into account what lobby skin players were using, but that sounds.. super complex.
Not saying it could never be done, but i can’t see it ever happening.
Not to defend nintendo of course but i don’t see why they’d waste time on something like that when they clearly don’t see it as important enough 😕
Also the inside of the inkopolis plaza and square lobbies wasn’t actually a full sized room, like, canonically. I’m pretty sure it’s more like a travel terminal or a station. Someone sets up where they want to go, which is what we see as the battle menus, and then they go there. This isn’t 100% factual, but i’d assume this is how it would work given the tiny little cylinder you stand in.
you can't see what king salmonid you are gonna fight because in a interview the devs said Grizzco doesn't have the technology for that yet, also Inkling have strong cartilage for bones so they would get hurt after jumping off a railing
It's canon that inklings and octolings have no bones, the cartilage thing is just a well-spread headcanon lol
In the artbook (which I own) for the Inkling models, it says where there bones are visible, they even labeled it as squid bone @@CJ_Hyperfresh

For #80, the shell out rolls are based on their odds. If you don't look up your shell out seed, it's functionally the same as what you want it to be while allowing those who want to know access to that
It's the functional part that's dumb. Just make it like any other gacha and roll at time of the machines use rather than at time of account creation.
I'd rather actually have 1% chance of getting a golden banner on every roll rather than the 1% having been prerolled such that I'll have to play the game till the heat death of the universe to get my accounts golden capsule.
@@gemain609 The odds are exactly the same. If it bothers you, I recommend not using the seed checker. That will let you have the experience you want
Most likely reason it's a set 'seed' is so Nintendo can't be sued for "Gambling" Mechanics inside of a video game. Though this is idiotic, given there's enough mobile games with actual gambling problems, that are juuust fine.
I agree with you 100% at 6:04. I don't want to use the rank reset just because I'm having a bad day, but at some point i got to s+0 -1800 practically forcing me to . Like just let me rank down once instead of THREE TIMES (S+ --> A) with the rank reset. smh
My biggest minor inconvenience is the game forgets to tell you so many things. Like what brands do, ect.

If you wanted to recon SR stages you would have to ask GrizzCo and why would they ever do that for you?
Also, the Wave Breaker, like Sprinkler, doesn’t delay the evaluation in Turf War, only bombs do. So that same mechanism applies to SR.
So changing the stats of every single main weapon for salmon run is fine, but having a special that is primarily used for the revival of players delay the end of a match is where they should draw the line?

3:59 I think this was supposed to be because of the game's chaos theming. There were stages under construction before this but it's become more common to battle on active construction sites with or without permission
also brinewater, um'ami and mincemeat aren't under construction, brinewater looks finished, um'ami is an excavation site and mincemeat is a scrapyard.

Its time for me to play "Erhm actually 🤓🤓" since splatoon is my hiperfixation. Soo the reason that jellyfish ate the only present on maps is probably because its them who canonically create maps for us! So I would say that this might me the reason
Also: the one about the water on maps even tho our characters can't swim. It's cause jellyfish can so they use it to mark the borders of the map!

One of my biggest irks also happens to be with amiibo and photo mode. And how you can't change the amiibo's hairstyle, skin tone, eye color, eyebrows or ANYTHING except how it looks by default when doing a photo. So if you want a photo of the ponytail Octoling girl and you are a "hair to the side" inkling... you CAN'T take a picture with that combination.

Because the game still relies on the P2P protocol that Splatoon 1 uses.
Not as in once Wii U and 3DS online goes down its gonna cause issues on the Switch.
But more along the line of, your console communicates all the time with the 7 other players in the match, peer 2 peer communication.
As in Nintendo needs to invest in dedicated servers for those P2P communications to go through to try and have more stable connections.
Why are the scales you get seemingly random when you actually manage to beat the boss in salmon run? If I beat it, why am I not getting gold scales?
They're based of pre-determined %s. Gold scales are the rarest, and defeating a King Salmom does not guarantee gold, unfortunately.

I want to know why when someone dcs on a 100x or 333x does it take your shells and if its your team counts as a loss. Like at that point at least let me try to fight 3v4, i have more of a chance than it just ending abruptly and ive already paid for it.
Also how long it takes to get king salmons, when ive played with randoms ive played (and won) matches for 3 hours before encountering one before. I might just be personally unlucky on that one
