This is more wheel "assembling" than making. How about showing us the parts depicting the making of the spokes and the other individual pieces making up the wheel?
Dear Tom, my reply is five years late, and you probably don't remember writing your comment to the "wagon wheel making video" on utube bynow now! Your point is taken, but the video shows my assistant of that time making his first wheel at that time. Other than the hub which was an old one, all the parts were new and purchased. While we do make many of our own spokes and felloe parts at the Lost Arts work shop, we didn't on this occasion. Hello, when we posted the video I didn't understand that people would write to me about it. I have just discovered that, so after so much time I write a reply. I did not make the hub, it was an old single derelict "Sarven" hub which we used for Vincent to create his first wheel on his own. Vincent had been in the shop for about two months at the time, wanting to know how to make wheels before he returned to France. That's why you see me mostly flitting around in the background during the video, only coming over when he had questions, or out of the corner of my eye thought he need to ask one. In the end he made a great wheel. This does not answer your question about making hubs, if you are still interested, write to me again, and I will try to answer your questions. Today with these machines it's OK... In Czech rep. theres a man making these wooden wheels the old way. Just like the ones made 200 years ago or so...
