- Thierry Daniel Henry is a French professional football coach, pundit, sports broadcaster and former player. He is currently the manager of the France national under-21 team. He is considered one of the greatest strikers of all time, and one of the greatest players in Premier League history. He has been named by Arsenal as the club's greatest ever player. Henry was runner-up for both the Ballon d'Or in 2003 and the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2003 and 2004. He was named the FWA Footballer of the Year a record three times, the PFA Players' Player of the Year a joint-record two times, and was named in the PFA Team of the Year six consecutive times. He was also included in the FIFA FIFPro World XI once and the UEFA Team of the Year five times. In 2004, Henry was named by Pelé in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players.
Henry made his professional debut with Monaco in 1994 before signing for defending Serie A champions Juventus. However, limited playing time, coupled with disagreements with the club's hierarchy, led to him signing for Premier League club Arsenal for £11 million in 1999. Under long-time mentor and coach Arsène Wenger, Henry became a prolific striker and Arsenal's all-time leading scorer with 228 goals in all competitions. He won the Premier League Golden Boot a record four times, won two FA Cups and two Premier League titles with the club, including one during an unbeaten Invincible season. Henry spent his final two seasons with Arsenal as club captain, leading them to the 2006 UEFA Champions League Final. Henry transferred to Barcelona in 2007 and in the 2008-09 season, he was a key part of the club's historic treble when they won La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League. In 2010, he joined Major League Soccer (MLS) club New York Red Bulls and returned to Arsenal on loan for two months in 2012, before retiring in 2014.
Henry had success with France, winning the 1998 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 2000, and 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup. He was named French Player of the Year a record five times, named to the UEFA Euro 2000 Team of the Tournament, awarded both the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup Golden Ball and Golden Shoe, and named to the 2006 FIFA World Cup All-Star Team. In October 2007, he became his country's record goal scorer, a record he held until December 2022. After amassing 123 appearances and 51 goals, Henry retired from international football after the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
After retiring, Henry transitioned into coaching. He began coaching Arsenal's youth teams in February 2015, in tandem with his work as a pundit for Sky Sports. In 2016, he was appointed as an assistant coach at Belgium, before assuming the role as the head coach at Monaco in 2018. He was relieved of his duties at Monaco in January 2019 and returned to MLS less than a year later to manage Montréal Impact. He led Montréal to the playoffs in the 2020 season before departing in 2021, returning to his role as an assistant coach for Belgium for a year and a half.

Unreal Henry
Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho are by far my favorite living football legends, they are the reason I fell in love with football in the first place, they are part of my childhood... Henry should have won at least one or two ballon d'or in the 2003 and 2004 seasons, he was so unique and underrated back then, he was almost unstoppable and genuinely a very good all-rounder authentic player. ☯️✌️

Phew! russian comments!
R9 is the only striker that'd better
Henry’s all around game was better
@@mo2k638 Lol even you don't believe that nonsense.
@@Al-ji4gd what nonsense is there to believe? Henry was better at scoring free kicks he was better at assisting and passing he had a better first touch he was a bit faster, set pieces etc, the only thing I can think that R9 did better was dribbling even tho Henry was a very good dribbler himself, R9 was the greater player but Henry had more of a complete game
@@mo2k638 He was not better at most of those things. R9 didn't need to take free-kicks, and when he did, he scored them. He has more variety in the kinds of free-kicks he scored than Henry, without even being the primary FK taker haha. Just look at the FKs he scored for Brazil or for Inter. Henry was not a better passer, that is pure nonsense. First touch is arguable, because Henry was much more oriented on finesse, where R9 was just full-steam ahead running towards goal most of the time, but R9 definitely had the bigger skill bag. R9 was faster with the ball because he was a much better drubbler, Henry was faster without it. Again, as someone who watched both for most of their careers, Henry was not more complete., and he was nowhere near R9 as a player. There's a chasm between them.
@@Al-ji4gd like I said Henry has more in his arsenal than R9 despite not being as great as R9 Henry had a better first touch we’re not debating that, and did you just say Henry wasn’t a better passer/chancer created and providing assist like r9 ?? Now you’re just trolling or have an agenda, Henry and Messi are the only 2 attacking players in the history of football to have 20+ goals and 20+ assists in the league, Henry assist record in the epl still hasn’t been broken R9 has 104 assist in his career Henry has double that, you’re just going against the grain, R9 was not way better than Henry but better the gap isn’t as big as you make it out to be Henry had more finesse in his game and knew how to manipulate defenses while r9 was more skilled, r9 was greater but way greater you’re just pushing it but that’s your opinion I can live with it
Henry should be on 50 goals & NOT on 51 (the 9th against Japan 🇯🇵) it’s an own goal if you watch it. Just like Rio Ferdinand’s against Denmark 02 WC.
Who cares trying your hardest to discredit smh 🦀
So overrated for the national team. Was bad at nearly every major tournament he played for them.
51 goals in 123 caps is a really good ratio actually, he was generally good in the euros. Quit hating. When you put it into perspective, Phil Foden only has 4 goals for England.
@@williamglass7066 I don't know why Foden, the one-season wonder (who isn't even a striker), is the comparison...
Realistically, Henry's only good tournament for France was Euro 2000.
@ he was still good in qualifiers too, I still think this is a harsh assessment. He had 51 goals in 123 appearances for France.
