Wow great work one of my favorites too never expected to hear it here. I used this hadith to better understand how God Almighty can be the perfect justice itself and at the same time most mercyful.
I always loved this Hadith. I had it in my mind just yesterday actually. Great channel Paul. Asalaam Aleykum brother. Dr. Bart Ehrman needs to hear this Hadith as he's always had a problem of evil/ suffering.
@@ConsideringPhlebas Another uneducated troll, i say this with all respect. Firstly, i wouldn't exaggerate the claims on both sides. I've watched many of his lectures/ talks. He doesn't hate Christianity, rather he speaks of the good values that are, at the heart enshrined within Christianity. Many times he actually defends Christianity as seen in his Google talk against those ardent atheists who think Jesus pbuh didn't exist. He had a bitter exchange with Dr. Richard Carrier (who in fact does indeed hate Christianity). Dr. Ehrman also debated fellow Mythicist Dr. Robert Price who believes that Nazareth didn't exist at the time of Jesus pbuh and that Jesus pbuh isn't a historical figure (Dr. Ehrman was on the other side and refuted him). So yeah, i think you may have mixed him up with Christopher Hitchens, or Sam Harris. Lastly, there is a video online where Ehrman is informed about the historical method in the Islamic sources and how strict it is. Another talk he gives he is actually asked a specific question regarding this, to which he replies "i haven't studied it (Qur'an)."
@@abdulmunim318 I guess I'm just struggling for adjectives to describe someone who writes book after book attacking Christianity, but who at the same time supposedly *doesn't* hate the faith.
Beautiful hadith. In my opinion, if one reads those verses in Quran where it says 'this worldly life is nothing but enjoyment/provisions of delusion', knowing that the worldly life is compared, contrasted and used with the hereafter elsewhere in the Quran, one can put this hadith forward to get a taste of how the life of now will feel then as a delusion that one in any abode will forget the opposite of what one received in the previous life.
May Allah increase your knowledge and understanding of the religion. I had read the Hadith before but this interpretation has brought it to life as it were. Subhanallah , each time Allah opens up a perspective that one hadn't perceived before in the Qur'an and the Hadiths.
Dear Paul thank you I really appreciate the knowledge and insight into your subjects, also the fairness in presenting them. I totally agree with you on the near death experience. Also sufism "doesn't always sit comfortable with me" is how I would describe it too. I appreciate when you say hadiths are hidden jewels. In the Quran Allah says about Muhammed (pbuh), in surat Al-Najm (the star). (1) By the star when it goes down/descends (2) Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred (3) Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination/desire (4) It is not but a revelation revealed. Muhammed (pbuh) was a living revelation, true Islam comes directly from him. Centuries later factions started to appear. Sufism just like Shiism, although to a certain extent, less extreme in following their scholars. Both needlessly started but would benefit their leaders in terms of power and wealth through their followers (maybe similar to protestant factions), it continued to evolve into Mysticism and beyond. Another point you mentioned @6:03, the Prophet gave a description of Jannah (Paradise) and concluded with these words, "There will be bounties which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human heart has ever perceived." Thank you again and sorry for the long post.

There is another Hadees which says that people on day of Judgement will be wishing that they had suffered in this world, seeing the rewards of those who suffered in this world. I imagine how much that reward will be that a human being who can't bear a little cut on his had will wish that he was given tortures by others and he would have borne patience to get those rewards💗☝🏻
I keep coming back to this vid, it's enlightening to see it from a Western perspective (as explained here by Gai Eaton) despite me knowing this wonderful Hadeeth/Narration from before. You even put effort into choosing the perfect thumbnail for it, the word reads "beauty" in Arabic. Thank you, Mr. Williams. It's an honor to have you in this Ummah, I know you're a believer but hopefully as a Muslim too in shaa Allah
Beautiful, beautiful exposition of the hadith. I think the hadith also references man's tendency to forget: he is al-insaan (one who forgets). This touches upon the transience of experience itself, not just in an objective way but also subjectively from man's perspective--the perspective of one who forgets. So a tough life can be put behind one when immersed in paradise for even a moment, and a good life can be forgotten instantly if dipped in hell.
Another beautiful Hadiths that I like Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him said: The life of this world is like a traveler in a desert who momentarily rested under the shade of a tree and then continued his journey. Work in this life as if you are living for eternity and work for the hearafter as if you are dying tomorrow. Whoever is not merciful (to the creation) will not be shown mercy by Allah. Faith is composed of 70 odd branches; of which the highest is belief in ‘La Ilaha Illallah’ [There is no God but Allah] and the lowest is the removal of a hindrance from the road, and the sense of modesty is an important branch of Faith. It is incumbent upon you to be always truthful, for truthfulness guides to absolute piety and piety leads to Paradise . A man who always tells the truth and pursues the truth is written with Allah as a truthful one. Refrain from lying, for lying guides to sinfulness and sinfulness leads to Hellfire . A man continues to tell lies and pursues lies until he is written with Allah as a liar. Allah does not look at your appearance or your possessions; but He looks at your heart and your deeds. The best among you are those who give the best treatment to their wives.
I really like this one. Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba: On the day of Ibrahim's death, the sun eclipsed and the people said that the eclipse was due to the death of Ibrahim (the son of the Prophet). Allah's Messenger (pbuh) said, "The sun and the moon are two signs amongst Allah. They do not eclipse because of someone's death or life. So when you see them, invoke Allah and pray till the eclipse is clear." Sahih al-Bukhari 1060

Somehow I came accross this video after I watched a video on instagram about the story of Asiya, the wife of Pharaoh who refused to worship him. She followed the teaching of Moses at that time (baby Moses was raised by Asiya) and she worshipped only Allah. Knowing this, Pharaoh got angry because he declared himself as a god, and he tortured her to death. During the torture, she prayed to Allah so that Allah may build a house for her near Him in paradise, and it was granted by Allah. It was narrated both in Qur'an and Hadith. And before she was dead, she was seen smiling although Pharaoh's people kept tortured her, because she saw paradise. And Allah knows best.

Yes sir. Lots of Muslims do understand that Sofiism sometimes stretched the boundaries a bit. And actually sometimes is outright opposite to the message. Depends. Hence I strive to remain focus on the core values and message of foremost Quran and then Authentic Hadiths.
On those different states of experience the best analogy I have is this; when falling asleep back into this material world it is like looking at an older 800 by 600 CRT computer monitor having just spent the preceding moment wide eyed and glued to a high definition 4K display screen. Sorry to comment so often and all I can do is speak to my own experiences.
2:50 you mentioned "a Muslim", in fact the author meant that the Hadith was recorded by " Imam Muslim", his name is Muslim, and you certainly know his famous record "Sahih Muslim".
On the authority of Abu `Amr - and he is also called Abu `Amrah - Sufyan bin Abdullah ath- Thaqafee (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, tell me something about al-Islam which I can ask of no one but you." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Say I believe in Allah - and then be steadfast." [Muslim] This is my favourite Hadith, because it infers the first rule of total quality management TQM, do what you write and write what you do, you only write what you believe and to be consistant with yourself "consciously and subconsciously" by doing what you wrote, a recipe of success in any endeavor
The color is something that i want to see it myself. IIRC there is a tree or throne or something that is in hadith as well talking about something like that (color). and from our world, if we think about it there is a wide spectrum of "waves" and the thing that we can see is so minuscule compare to the other range of the spectrum. so if we see things that the eye never sees in this world compare to the hereafter is mostly possible from our understanding. as we know the hereafter is the time when we see things that our eyes cannot see in this world right now.

Great work. I am learning much more from your lectures.
Aslmu alaykum Paul so amazing knowledge I'm learning from you and born Muslim Algamdulillaah May HE draw us closer to Him Thank you
Wow great work one of my favorites too never expected to hear it here. I used this hadith to better understand how God Almighty can be the perfect justice itself and at the same time most mercyful.
Very brilliant ....when I got the idea I just hold my breath and shed an awakening tears
Assalamalaykum rahmatAllahi wa barkatahu thanks Paul for the beautiful Hadith life experience in a nut shell.
I always loved this Hadith. I had it in my mind just yesterday actually. Great channel Paul. Asalaam Aleykum brother.
Dr. Bart Ehrman needs to hear this Hadith as he's always had a problem of evil/ suffering.
Salam!
Don't get your hopes up. Ehrman doesn't like Islam, he just hates Christianity.
@@abdulmunim318
I guess I'm just struggling for adjectives to describe someone who writes book after book attacking Christianity, but who at the same time supposedly *doesn't* hate the faith.
@@ConsideringPhlebas critical people like them don't just hate things blindly. they just oppose any premise they see wrong.
Jazak Allah kharun yes that hadith you mentioned is an wake up call to the reality of this world
it is a pleasure to learn my religion from a wise man like you sir.
Great presentation Paul, thank you
Beautiful hadith.
May ALLAH bless you, Ameen.
May Allah increase your knowledge and understanding of the religion. I had read the Hadith before but this interpretation has brought it to life as it were. Subhanallah , each time Allah opens up a perspective that one hadn't perceived before in the Qur'an and the Hadiths.
The Fire is real, and the Garden is real!
God, this is beautiful! The problem of evil solved, just like that. Jazakallahu Khairan Mr. Williams.
Very good, remind me of "the matrix", may Allah bless Gai Eaton, aamiin!
What a wonderful Hadith. Thank you for sharing these gems.
"although I don't agree with everything, I recommend the book"
this is so professionally objective, mashaa Allah. Thank you very much.
Masha allah
Dear Paul thank you I really appreciate the knowledge and insight into your subjects, also the fairness in presenting them. I totally agree with you on the near death experience. Also sufism "doesn't always sit comfortable with me" is how I would describe it too.
I appreciate when you say hadiths are hidden jewels. In the Quran Allah says about Muhammed (pbuh), in surat Al-Najm (the star).
(1) By the star when it goes down/descends
(2) Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred (3) Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination/desire (4) It is not but a revelation revealed.
Another point you mentioned @6:03, the Prophet gave a description of Jannah (Paradise) and concluded with these words, "There will be bounties which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human heart has ever perceived."
Thank you again and sorry for the long post.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for making things that clear to me... we need people like you .... we really need... many thanks again sir... your channel is a blessing for people like me...

جزاكم الله خيرًا
I keep coming back to this vid, it's enlightening to see it from a Western perspective (as explained here by Gai Eaton) despite me knowing this wonderful Hadeeth/Narration from before.
You even put effort into choosing the perfect thumbnail for it, the word reads "beauty" in Arabic. Thank you, Mr. Williams. It's an honor to have you in this Ummah, I know you're a believer but hopefully as a Muslim too in shaa Allah
Thank you for reminding me to start reading Gai Eaton.
may Allah guide you to Islam brother
beautiful hadith and a beautiful explanation
I can't get over listening to your voice uncle
Great video the more you learn the more you awake
Beautiful, beautiful exposition of the hadith. I think the hadith also references man's tendency to forget: he is al-insaan (one who forgets). This touches upon the transience of experience itself, not just in an objective way but also subjectively from man's perspective--the perspective of one who forgets. So a tough life can be put behind one when immersed in paradise for even a moment, and a good life can be forgotten instantly if dipped in hell.
50:22 - "You were indifferent to it (aftermife) Well, We take off your veil; your sight is keen today.
Wow thats amazing showing examples with dreams. It does make real sense
Excellent video brother. Very thought provoking. Thank you for the videos.
Very welcome
Another beautiful Hadiths that I like Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him said:
The life of this world is like a traveler in a desert who momentarily rested under the shade of a tree and then continued his journey.
Asalamu Aleykum! Alhamdulillah for Islam! Thank you Brother!
Thank you from Scotland.
You are very welcome
I really like this one.
Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba:
On the day of Ibrahim's death, the sun eclipsed and the people said that the eclipse was due to the death of Ibrahim (the son of the Prophet). Allah's Messenger (pbuh) said, "The sun and the moon are two signs amongst Allah. They do not eclipse because of someone's death or life. So when you see them, invoke Allah and pray till the eclipse is clear."
Sahih al-Bukhari 1060
Hi, I came across your channel today and became a subscriber. I particularly like this video and how the author expanded his understanding on this particular hadith because it opened my eyes as I never thought of life in this world in this manner i.e. somewhat like a dream. I learn a lot and thanks for sharing!
Subhana Rabbi al A'laa. "And the path of life is but a dream." And to some, a nightmare.
Wow,,,,that is really eye opener
I deeply appreciate this gentleman and his scholarly work. Though a non- Muslim, this gentleman striking the right chord, to get the vital message, with regard to this life and the next, across the wider and diverse audience brilliantly both in substance and essence.
Thank you for this video brother Paul and for sharing this book. I wish you all the best dear brother Paul.💐💐.
You know Brother Paul, the meaning of the Arabic word in the Arabesque picture you put in the beginning of your video is " beauty = جمال" . But maybe you already know that. Thanks again dear brother Paul , I learn so much from your videos.💐💐
I am saying this proudly that i really proud to follow your channel. Enlighten me more, Sire! Please!
Wow, thank you
Subhan Allah.
Outstanding comparison of this life with mere a dream and hereafter a permanent reality. Thanks for enlightening me.
Thanks for explaining this Hadith
Yes, this is an amazing hadith, but Gai Eatons analogy really hit it home for me!
This world is but a fleeting dream.
me too
Jazakallha khair (Thank you)
(It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!" 50:22. The absolute reality each of us will surely experience on that biggest day of our lives...
This is so wholesome. Salam/Peace.
And Allah knows best.
beautiful
Mario Joseph, Muslim Imam convert to Christianity
number of times mentioned in Quran: Prop Mohd= 4 places, Jesus = 25 places
No women's name in quran- only Mariam @ mother of Jesus, one whole chapter (Chap 3)
Qur 3:34 onwards - mary was born without original sin, sinless, ever virgin,
Qur 50:23 - she went to heaven with physical body
How did God create the universe? Through the Word of God ( kalimatullah)
Is the Word of God ( kalimatullah) - a Creator or Creation?
Quran says Jesus is the word of God.
Qur 3:45-55 - 10 points quran makes about Jesus
Calls him kalimutullah (word of God), ruhhullah ( spirit of God), Isil Masih ( jesus Christ - The Anointed)
Jesus spoke when 4 years old - breathed life into mud(bird) and created life, cured a blind man, cured man with leprosy, Jesus gave life to dead people. Jesus went to heaven , he is alive and will come again
According to Quran - Prop Mohammad is not the word of God, not the spirit of God, never cured any sick people, never raised any dead people, never made any miracles (breathe life into mud > bird),
he himself died and will not come back. Jesus is a prophet greater than Mohammad.
Qur 10:94 If you have any doubt in this quran which I give to you, go and read the bible or ask the people who read the bible. The truth is already revealed in that. The quran itself will make you Christian.

Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

@@Raverraver9999 you idiot all the Quran is calling Mohammad صلى الله عليه وسلم using the words o’ messenger of the lord or o’the prophet
@@Raverraver9999 how come when people like you try to get an idea across... its sounds so cringe and illogical?
@Dekker Quran confirms the bible/torah & psalms is the inspired revelation and word of God (of the quran) & that of its accuracy, preservation and truth.
Quran 21:105 Sahih International: And We have already written in the book [of Psalms] after the [previous] mention that the land [of Paradise] is inherited by My righteous servants.
This is Psalm 37:29 which David wrote. Quran confirms divine inspiration
Psalm 37:29 - The righteous will inherit the earth and dwell in it forever
Quran 3:3-4 -He [Allah] has revealed to you the Book with truth, verifying that which is before it, and He revealed the Torah and the Gospel aforetime, a guidance for mankind, and He revealed the Criterion.
Quran 35:31- And that which We have revealed to you of the Book, that is the truth verifying that which is bayna yadayhi (between his hands = contemporary to his time @arab idiom)
Quran 46:30 -They said “O Our people!.Verily. We have heard a Book [the Quran] sent down after Moses, verifying what is bayna yadayhi (between his hands =contemporary to his time@ arab idiom)“
This is Affirming the biblical texts that were coexistent with the Quran, available at that time of Mohammed were true.
Quran 3:50 - Sahih International: And [I have come] confirming what was before me of the Torah and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear Allah and obey me.
Quran 5:46 - Sahih International: And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous.
Quran 61:6 - Sahih International: And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."
Luke 24:44- He said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.
Dead sea scrolls etc prove the bible/torah was not altered. Quran affirms the accuracy & preservation of the Torah, psalms and gospel.

Most of the comments are questioning whether Bro Paul is a Muslim or not, I only know him from watching him at Speakers Corner and unless he says it HIMSELF we should not be quick to start labelling people. He is amazing the way he does his Dawah and we should support him and not try and isolate him. Bro Paul if you are reading this keep up the Dawah and let's see some Non Muslims come on and explain why they believe that Jesus is God. There are loads of people ready to debate like Jason from Speakers Corner, He was on SC Dawah channel I think or Bro Hamzas channel
This hadith have been coming to my mind for several days now, especially when I read atheistic argument such as child bone cancer
As muslims i have heared this before. Now I feel this hadith more heart-touching as this gave rationale for varied experiences, humans being exposed. This hadeeth teach us that its not a loss to forgo blissful life of this earth, just as to endure suffering in it if one ensure his abode heavenly blessings hereafter. Great
Allahu Akbar
such a good explanation to "Why does God let the innocents suffer?" 2:50
Simply beautiful. Thank you.
Thanks .may Allah forgive us all
Than you so much Paul!!! Keep these videos coming :)
Will do!
Very interesting. MASHAALLAH.
Its nice to see how quickly this channel is growing. It seemed unfortunate when you were virtually the only prominent debater at speakers corner without a channel, especially given the way you were being talked about.
Yes sir. Lots of Muslims do understand that Sofiism sometimes stretched the boundaries a bit. And actually sometimes is outright opposite to the message. Depends. Hence I strive to remain focus on the core values and message of foremost Quran and then Authentic Hadiths.
Great video thank you
Very welcome
On those different states of experience the best analogy I have is this; when falling asleep back into this material world it is like looking at an older 800 by 600 CRT computer monitor having just spent the preceding moment wide eyed and glued to a high definition 4K display screen. Sorry to comment so often and all I can do is speak to my own experiences.
2:50 you mentioned "a Muslim", in fact the author meant that the Hadith was recorded by " Imam Muslim", his name is Muslim, and you certainly know his famous record "Sahih Muslim".
A Hadith that dismantles the problem of Evil
I hope you become muslim Paul may allah guide you through your research and knowledge in shaa allah
On the authority of Abu `Amr - and he is also called Abu `Amrah - Sufyan bin Abdullah ath- Thaqafee (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:
I said, "O Messenger of Allah, tell me something about al-Islam which I can ask of no one but you." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Say I believe in Allah - and then be steadfast." [Muslim]
This is my favourite Hadith, because it infers the first rule of total quality management TQM, do what you write and write what you do, you only write what you believe and to be consistant with yourself "consciously and subconsciously" by doing what you wrote, a recipe of success in any endeavor
Thank you
So good Paul.
Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks
