What made this movie even better for me. Was being able to resist the temptation to watch it, before reading the book. It gave me way more background on the main characters and others. Including a more disturbingly detailed account of what all happened to Lori. After she was kidnapped by Blue Duck and held captive. I wish my dad would've lived long enough to see this.
Did a great job as a villain! I worked with a guy that looked like him, talked like him but just didn't have the long hair nor killed anyone - that know of.
What I like about the final scene with him is that even while we already hate him, he brags to Woodrow about all the terrible things he has done which reminds us why we hate him
the great thing as the story unfolds over the four novels is how gus call and blue duck are bonded because they are so alike.l.they are the only ones left like him , they and blue duck have different motives but the same mentality.in the world they grew up in they see themselves as the last free men.when gus and call started there were no outlaws.simply because there were no laws to be outside of.most of the country they travelled wasnt even a proper nation just wilderness .they therefore imposed their own laws and code of behaviour.they hate the encroachment of civilisation.its why they go on the drive to find the last untamed wilderness .blue duck though evil thinks the same .his irony is he was cast out from the last free people by his father buffalo hump.yet eventually in lonesome dove they are tamed and on the reservation.blue duck is the last free comanche.contemptuos of everyone else doing exactly as he likes.hes not worried by sheriffs posses the army or other tribes.the only two who worry him are gus and call/they are too similar to him.unafraid of anything and can chase him down.so he never gives them the excuse he runs before guses attack.the three are different sides of the same coin.
@@usargentina6192Lol. That’s exactly what he tells call. He could have shot him in the back. If anyone deserved a bullet in the back, it was ole blue duck
Read this book and the character of Blue Duck was very smart which made him even more scary.
*For me IMO in my book ... a **_Bruce Dern_** class of actor. Nobody could play "Blue Duck" like Frederic Forrest. Nobody.*
Wish I had scary music play whenever I showed up somewhere
That's what I was thinking, too! 😀
I do have that. It's absolutely incredible.
@@Last_Chance. Me was well. These fools don’t know
@@Billy-rq9hs they don't have a clue.
Blue duck even went out like a bad ass.

I don’t know if I wanna read that
@@Brandd1776the book is perhaps the greatest work of fiction there is. Do yourself a favor and read it.

Sadly though. He was right when he told Call that he'd never even got a good look at him till just then.

Damn shame he's gone. I wish he didn't retire so soon.
Blue Duck in both the novel and movie was pure evil!
If you've ever seen the Michael Douglas film "Falling Down", the actor that played the nazi surplus store guy was Blue Duck
The best film ever made
Great actor. Going to miss him. Rip
@@davidwallace6031you ain't lying
Only 12 minutes wow
Frederic Forrest was a terribly underrated actor. And he was an Oscar nominee, for fuck's sake!
You should see Frederick Forrest in the movie Larry with Tyne Daly for some good acting performances
What a horse!
Frederric Forrest soooo sexy!🔥🔥🔥
Ridiculous how little screen time he got
There was a ton do stuff they had to pack into the film from the book. They did a decent job.
Blue Duck wasn't even full blooded Comanche his mother was Mexican
“We never did get that halfbreed” Peaeye Parker
Always wondered why Gus didn’t shoot him when they met at the river.
Cuz Gus was a puss with a big mouth
Well, he was ready. It woulda been touch and go which one of them got killed.
Read the book and you'll know why.

They both understood that the other one was dangerous and neither one wanted to take a chance in a confrontation.
kill me. what fun!
So chigger another native slur ?
No. Chigger was used to describe anyone who was a nuisance, white & indigenous alike.
Worst casting choice of the movie in my opinion.
Agree. That horrible nose job also.
Like hell !! There's no better choice of an actor to play Blue Duck period!!!

@@stevenodenthal3642 Why? I’ve read it. Not shit talking can’t remember. Also who you suggest? Who would have played buffalo hump?
The Vile Eye needs to do this character
