Hi Cathy, it is definitely distressing to hear that a physician would say neuroendocrine carcinoma is not cancer. This is why we work so hard to raise awareness about all types of neuroendocrine cancer. Palliative care is an excellent resource for everyone diagnosed with cancer and chronic illnesses. And many people are not aware that palliative care is different from hospice care and it is available as soon as people are diagnosed. We hope you find palliative care helpful. Please be in touch via our website, www.carcinoid.org/contact/, if you have any questions or we can provide any information. We're here to help and you are not alone!
