New 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series Legendary Off Roader SUV Facelift

- Toyota has reintroduced the new Land Cruiser 70 series with nostalgic and retro styling. This boxy design offers original features that have been updated to suit the modern era. It has strong driving performance and provides decent fuel efficiency.
the legendary off-roader has now been reintroduced in Japan after a 9-year absence from Toyota’s home market.
Toyota discontinued it from its Japanese lineup in 2015 due to stricter safety regulations. This oversight has been rectified with the updated version, which expands the local Land Cruiser family alongside the much newer J250 and the global J300 models.
The general shape of the 70 Series remains familiar, with the facelift bringing with it a few changes such as a new grille and circular LED headlamps. The front fenders and bonnet have also been redesigned to give the vehicle a tougher look to go along with the robust front bumper.
At the rear, the previously vertical taillights have now been rotated to be horizontal and integrated into the rear bumper, while other details like the rear barn doors, rear fender air vent garnish, squarish side mirrors and retractable radio antenna are retained.
Size-wise, the LC70 comes in shorter than the LC250 Prado and LC300. It measures 4,890 mm long, 1,870 mm wide, and 1,920 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. Toyota says it will be available in Single Cab, Double Cab, Troop Carrier, and Wagon configurations,
Step inside and you’ll also notice the key ignition is still in use, with the rest of the cabin appearing nearly the same as before. It’s not all old school though, as the facelift also adds modern touches like a 4.2-inch multi-info display in the instrument cluster and a 6.7-inch touchscreen head unit that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
the facelift has added a few fundamental advanced driver assistance systems such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure alert, road sign assist, and automatic high beams.
The JDM version of the 70 Series is fitted with a new 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel Engine, representing a significant improvement in emissions compared to previous iterations of the SUV. The powertrain, which is also found in the all-new Land Cruiser J250 produces 201 hp and 500 Nm of torque. . Power is exclusively transmitted to all four wheels through a 6-speed Super ECT automatic gearbox.
In other markets, there will be a 4.5 litre turbodiesel V8 with 205 PS and 430 Nm that is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

This is not true for 'half the world.' In regards to the V8 military version, there are a very limited number of countries that can get it, such as Australia, South Africa, and some countries in Latin America. I ordered this car 2 years ago and will get it on 18th of January 2024. I believe this is the last year of producing the V8 version. Despite it costing me nearly $100k AUD, I have no regrets and am extremely happy with the purchase. I got the 79 version, and I used to have the 76 version for 7 years. This car is extremely reliable, capable, and decent. Simply put, it's a legend

it is also available in manual
I’ve always preferred manual over automatic, when offered.
