Some people just want free stuff. They vote for whoever they think will give them stuff. Truth is anything worth having usually requires you to earn it.

The years and years it would take to do Genealogy on all citizens would be insane. Not to mention the cost. And, slaves names were not put on Census Records just the age of the person. And, thousands of white people had black ancestors that were slaves. It would be an unreal task.

My ancestors left their farms to fight for the North to end slavery. Some participated in the underground railroad. NONE owned slaves. Many soldiers died while fighting, and others lost limbs and income to end slavery. Others participated in the underground railroad. Do they get a pass? Reparations don't make sense. As Charlie said its people who weren't slave owners (and many are people whose ancestors didn't either) paying people who weren't slaves.

And also some blacks may not qualify for this. Because their ancestors weren’t slaves. How does that work?

Instead of reparations give black families that have children - Mother and Father that are Married- child credits that equal- welfare. ❤

Should the Japanese receive reparations for interment camps their ancestors were in?

My Father, who was born in Haverstraw, NY in 1899, and when he went to work in the Maritime Trade in the early 20th Century, the HELP WANTED Ads in Major Cities had the initials NINA at the end of the ad. That means NO IRISH NEED APPLY. While his name was Irish in origin, His Father was also born in Haverstraw admittedly to Immigrant Parents. My Mother's parents immigrated from Germany in 1862. When they got here, the discrimination was incredible because they did not speak English. They quickly corrected that and never taught any of their 21 children to Speak German nor did they ever tell their children about the old country. By the reparations logic, My Brother and our 24 of Irish descent qualify for Reparations. AND, along with our 50+ German family cousins also deserve Reparations. Especially the many in both families that served in WWII. plus the widows of two who died as a result of WWII. QED

African's sold african's to the slavers....some slave owners in America were black. Many black people in America have a lot of white heritage too- some of which may have been slavers....how do you break all of that down?

  • @Sumoniggro

There are three main reasons why the idea of reparations is completely asinine and a nonstater, they boil down to it being too late, they arguably have been payed and the it is impossible to achieve logistically in the modern day and result in a ancestral quagmire or in the enacting of an overtly racist policy that will only simultaneously cause unjust harm to some while unjustly reward others. Firstly there was a time and place for it but that has long since passed when the last people who owned slaves or were slaves died, secondly the blood spilled to free the slaves as well as all of the welfare programs, investments into black communities and the instituting of social programs like affirmative action to artificially boost up minorities in an effort to expedite the leveling of economic disparities has more than covered for the reneging on reparations.
Lastly, there isn't just the conundrum of trying to figuring out which current black people have FBA ancestral origins and which have ancestry that wasn't impacted by slavery at all, things get further complicated when we add in the fact that the majority of whites didn't own slaves, more over a disproportionate amount of white people's ancestors weren't even in the country until after slavery was abolished, it gets even more convoluted when we remember that some whites are descendants of slaves and some blacks are descendants of slave owners which makes figuring out the logistics when it comes to who would be obligated to pay and who would be entitled to receive is absolutely indecipherable.

Get a job, & hand out some of your earned money! To the people that don't deserve it and then you know what it is to listen to this nonsense over and over, to ridiculous delusions of mooching role playing a victim l! Let me remind you victims are never a threat and you only get what we want you to have so step up or go away! Enough of this sickening babbling, nobody's even listening to it! Peace out all🤟
