  • Dr Rim Turkmani, a family friend of leading Syrian archaeologist Khaled al Asaad, who was beheaded by Islamic State, talks about his lifetime's work.
The 81-year-old antiquities scholar was murdered in the ancient town of Palmyra, which he spent more than five decades looking after.
"I can't imagine Palmyra without him," Dr Turkmani told Sky News Tonight's Jannat Jalil.

Khaled al Asaad was a real hero in this horrific mess. He acted bravely for an higher ideal than personal gain or convenience. He knew what could happen to him nevertheless he stayed in Palmyra. He will be an example to humanity forever. The ignoble cowards who killed him don't have a slight bit of his valor.
