  • Now to some major archaeological discoveries at a site near Jerusalem known as Lifta. It's commonly known as an Arab village that was abandoned around the time the State of Israel was founded. But it also has an ancient past, according to a new archaeological survey that has not yet been published. Now some are accusing Israel of trying to bury the findings. Why? Some say it's because of financial interests. i24NEWS managed to get a hold of part of the survey. In the next in-depth report, Culture Correspondent Maya Margit takes a look at the implications.

An ancient village with biblical roots being called "Arab" is already an incoherence but what is even sadder is that those who now call themselves 'Palestinians' are mostly Israelites who had been converted to Islam and the first Christians of the world, the Israelite followers of Yeshua ben Yossef's Jewish sect and later got converted to the Graeco-Roman strands of Christianity. The worst invasions Levantines suffered besides the one by the Romans was the one which stripped Levantines of their identities and languages: Hebrew and Aramaic dialects, two names for languages so closely related they could be deemed dialects of each other ...

Whyy is it called Arab village? They did not build it and did not occupy it until many centuries after the biblical reference. The last being palestinians, dubious because palestine refers only to a very large middle east area that never had a government.

Some of these "Palestinian Arabs" are descended from Jews who never left, and pragmatically converted from Judaism rather than be put to the sword by invaders. • @1969cmp
      @1969cmp 3 года назад +2

@rob91011 ...incorrect, mostly. Many many 'Palestinian' Arabs came in from other Arab nations with no prior ansestoral connection.
The term Palestine comes from the term Philistine is from the Greeks and the Philistines settled along the Gaza etc coast from the Aegean Sea area near Greece. Philistine were European.
Philistines were not Arabs and were wiped out by Nebuchadnezzar II.
It was many centuries later, about 135A.D. that the Romans after expelling most of the Jews from Judea, Samaria, Galilee etc and merged the province with Syria that we see Philitia re-emerge as Palestine and it was in part to insult the Jews.
Arabs at this time did live in the area in small numbers, I.e in Edom where Petra is.
Arabs did see themselves as 'Palestinians' until the middle of the 20th century and are not descendents of King David, or Ezekiel or the first century Jews, at least in any significant way. Most had been expelled after the Bar Kochva revolt.

*Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of MIDIAN, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to HOREB, the mountain of G-d.*
In 1956, Shelomo Dov Goitein (1900-1985), *a scholar of both Jewish and Arabic studies, suggested that the name YHWH derives from the Arabic root h.w.y (هوى), and the word hawaya (هوايا), which means “love, affection, passion, desire.” He connected this suggestion with the passage in Exodus 34, in a set of laws known by scholars as the Ritual Decalogue. One of the laws, which forbids Israel to worship other g-ds, reads:*
      ‎שמות לד:יד כִּי לֹא תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה לְאֵל אַחֵר כִּי יְ-הוָה קַנָּא שְׁמוֹ אֵל קַנָּא הוּא.
Exod 34:14 *For you must not worship any other god, because YHWH, whose name is Impassioned, is an impassioned G-d.*
Goitein suggests that *“YHWH whose name is Impassioned” refers to the deity’s personal name YHWH, which means “the Impassioned One,” and that this name derives from that (proto)Arabic term for passion. This reflects the idea that YHWH’s bond with his worshipers is one of passionate love, and YHWH is upset if the worshipers “cheat” by worshipping other G-ds.*
*In other words, the worshippers’ relationship with YHWH must be exclusive. Moreover, according to Goitein, this exclusivity demanded by YHWH goes back to his appearance as a G-d among nomadic, Arabian tribes.*

I would agree with you theoretically, but you have to remember that Israel is a very very small place in which many many *maannnyyy* cultures lived, usually at the same time. And there is physically very little space left for living humans.
If you were to place your finger on a random spot on Israel's map five times, statistically speaking, you would put you finger on an at least 2000 years old village or city in one of these times. That's how the landscape looks like in Israel- on almost every major hill there is some sort of ancient castle or building or village or something, some are 5,000 years old, some are 4,000 years old, many of them around the Jerusalem mountains are between 3,500 and 2,500 years old, there are many beautiful buildings that the Romans left here from 2,100 years ago to 1,900 years ago. And since then there were like... **Counting** ....four major empires ruling this place, building their cultures on top of others. And now there is a growing country with 9,000,000+ people living in it. Those are nine million people who all need a home. Nine million people who all need food that grows in fields. You can't keep everything- that's the extremely depressing reality. But you can record everything in great detail, and ask the world's best archeologists to come and report their findings in order to learn as much as possible about the past of humanity.
I myself have faced this sad reality when I was attending in an archaeological digging. We found a 7,500 years old temple with goat bones in it- it's older then the Egyptian empire and we still have no clue what culture built it. It was under a 6,000 years old house with handmade tools and everything. This house was under a bigger house from about 4,700 years ago, in this house we found a golden figure of an Egyptian Paroh. This house was under a 3,500 years old wall, that protected a small village from their enemies. This wall was used as a side wall of a building that is 1,500 years old. And you know where it all was? Inside a 10 meters high hill, in a field, 50 meters from an active growing small village. There were about 17 archeologists there from different countries from all across Europe and Israel. But do you know what we had to do in order to reach to the temple from 7,500 years ago? We had to dig through the other buildings and by that destroying them. That's how archaeology works anywhere in the world, not just Israel. And though it is very sad (it was actually painful to think about what we are doing), it is necessary for the future.

That is a severe conflict of interest in that system!!! In my area there is a "racist" saying. Although the people that say it can mean a negative or an envious positive. The saying goes like this: "to jew you down" and it means someone who is sharp with their money and money dealings. Someone or some people in that bureau are ready and willing to make a heap of money at the cost of history, environment, and of the future generations. Remember, the buildings that would be built on top of Lifta, only have an estimated 100 year lifetime. UPDATE: I just realized this is from 2018, and someone down below has shared information that the site was saved. That is great. I will never be in Israel, but if I could, Lifta would be a must see! But what I said still stands. That bureau needs to be broken into two pieces, with independent oversight committees.

The ottomans never lived in Palestine, they ruled it. During the Byzantine period, the locals converted to Christianity, but then slowly converted to Islam during the Arab period after 630 AD, though not all. Some of those ancient Christians still remain as Orthodox Christians. With time both Christians and Moslems were Arabised. Arabisation was a gradual process over Centuries and not just recently as stated here. The public should know the historical truth.

A brief history of Lifta. It was inhabited by Muslims and christians living in peace and harmony for more than a thousand years. Together they pooled resources and built a girls school in 1948. One of there famous coffee houses was attacked by Haganaon 28 December 1947 when they sprayed the building with automatic gun fire. The stern gang recognised terrorists then stopped a bus outside the village and fired into it at random. Habana condemned the stern gang but on the 11 of January they again attacked the village and blew up some of the houses. The villagers fled. The Lifta mosque near the western enterace of Jerusalem became a Jewish women’s mikweh for ritual bathing. Do not condem all Jews as we are not all Zionist we find what happened abhorrent. Not all Jews are Zionist many are against the state of Israel. Google naturei karta for proof of this

@@georgesutter3631 I am a Christian that believes God’s Word. I have met Arab Christians that have had horrible experiences with the IDF, so I know more than you think. One almost lost an unborn child, as a result at a check point.
I am not against the Palestinians Arab or Christians, although I consider them to be more of Jordanian, Egyptian, Syrian and in some cases even of Hebrew descent, many of who are actually brothers to the Jews, but not followers of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
I would never deny that Christians have been in Israel for 2000 years. Actually, if you read the Community Rules and the history as written by the Essenes, from the Dead Sea Scrolls, you’ll discover that modern Christianity has far more in common with the Priests of Zadok and all the early Jews.
As for who killed Jesus, I did! No less or no more than every other sinner He also died for.
As for the Jews, it was prophesied that they would reenter the Land as “Dry Bones” with no Breath (Spirit of God) in them, and to this day they are for the most part secular and will be so until they “recognize their offense.” Oh how I long for that day! Oh, they will never be uprooted again, so you might as well make your peace with them.
None of this changes the fact that God chose them for a two fold mission. First to bring forth the Messiah and second to proclaim Him to the world. They have kinda sucked at that second part, but they will excel at it when Messiah sits on the Throne of David. I suspect your thinking is too narrow. I suggest you stand back and looking at the bigger picture, which is God’s Plan, in it’s entirety.
I would never pay a cent to the corrupt religious leaders of Israel to rebuild a Temple. They ARE the descendants that took over the Temple in approximately 175 BC and not the rightful religious leaders. They would just spend it, no different than when Jesus over thru the money changer tables.
I do believe that one day another Temple will be built, but I don’t have to lift a finger for it to happen. I have been told that I’m supposed to “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.” That’s actually the only specific thing I’ve been instructed to pray for.
I would help both Christians with Israeli citizenship and Messianic Jews spread the Love of Jeshua to an unbelieving Israel and the world, who have a destiny, yet fulfilled.
As for us Americans not being able to govern ourselves... look around you, read your Bible, none of us can govern ourselves! That’s why we are all in need of a Savior! That’s the entirety of the story of the Bible. Where have you been? What did the Jews say to God when they were slaves in Egypt? Send us a Leader!
Who is Jesus? Our Wonderful “Councelor” “Mighty Prince of Peace” of Who’s “Government will have no end.” Sounds more political than religious to me. Sounds a bit like He’s my Attorney pleading my case before a Judge. Oh, and do I need it! How about you?
I am not anything you labeled me as, anything! You don’t know me at all!
I also suggest you do a search for prophecies, yet unfulfilled, about the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. You might be shocked to see that God still has a plan for them. Who are you to argue with this God?

Sounds like development in Israel is as challenging as building development in Rome. Anywhere with a millenia or more of human occupation is a challenge when every scoop of dirt potentially hides important history. Can't save it all, decisions have to be made.

Arabs as the name suggests originate in the Arabian peninsula.
Muhammad united the Arabs and following his death, his successors expanded into the fertile crescent and North Africa.
Gradually over a number of centuries Arabic spread amongst the populace, first as a language of administration later amongst the population as a whole.
Arabic is a Semito-Hamitic (more commonly known as Afro-Asiatic) language which was already prevalent over this entire area.
So in summary all of the non Arab Hamito-Semitic people (with the exception of Ethiopia) became Arabized over time.

@@stephenchappell7512 u aren’t answering the question, I know all about the Arab expansion and the Islamic golden age. I am Arab, also they began speaking Arabic immediately not over a few centuries, furthermore Arabs from Mecca and median not the whole peninsula moved to Jerusalem and Damascus. After the Middle East and North Africa and parts of Spain and Portugal adopted the Arabic language culture religion and welcomed people from the Arabian peninsula. They began families making any arabized person today almost certainly a descendent of Arabs making them Arab. Who are you to know what makes an Arab, are you Arab, have u studied the DNA sequence of Arabs compared to some one that just speaks Arabic on a daily basis and no other language, who’s Arab lineage stretch 1500 years, who probably lived in the same place for thousands.

      Is that even relevant?
I'm just someone with an interest in a better world who would like to see past and present injustices corrected, especially in the Holy land.
I believe Pan-Arabism was a mistake and a propaganda gift to the Zionists.
It is true that many nations share the common legacy of the Caliphate but it is also true that the separate pre-Islamic legacy is of equal importance in the region.
