I'm super enthusiastic to learn from you, Joni. You take the time to explain brush strokes, colors, and how to work with this medium. Especially with water. Right now I'm seeing/learning how to remove excess water with a brush. My class didn't do that.😆 This picture looks amazing. So so pretty!! Aurora borealis.✨🌲💙💚🩵🌲✨
, I was given watercolor paints , paper, brushes ECT.. from a dear friend who was not able to paint anymore, I have it for awhile now and had no desire to try , thought it would be to hard until I saw your video and now I can’t wait to watercolor especially with you teaching it,, My first black & white painting I Learnt was done from an early Tutorial of yours. Thank you Joni ,looking forward to this.. 🥰💕🙏
I've always been terrified of using watercolour as it's so hard to control, but you make it look so easy! I'm definitely going to give this one a try. Also, I love that you point out areas you're not happy with and show us how to fix them, that's so helpful, especially for a complete beginner. Thank you so much for all your great content! x
Joni, s glad you began a watercolor tutorial, I have wanted to try but haven't. My paint area is out commission because of a leak that cause a lot of damage to my family room, so can't paint with acrylic right now. So this is a an opportunity to dabble in watercolors. This is so pretty to start. I can do this on the patio before it gets too hot, having a heat wave in California 101-107 on several days.
Hullo Joni, I am excited for you and this new channel dedicated to watercolors! This is a truly lovely beginning painting. I look forward to watching your ideas bloom to life in this wonderful medium. If I can offer a beginners tip? Spray your palette or use a pipette to “start” your colors with that initial bit of water. You will have an easier time bringing your colors out from dried pans.
How did I not know that u watercolor ? I just started watercolor and I’m still building up my supply’s but this is awesome ! Now I can follow u and learn . Your watercolor has same vibe as your acrylic. Love it
@@paintwithjoni2336 sry but I have to ask do u paint with oils as well ?? I have been looking into that as well to do finishing touches and blending and glazes on top of acrylic . I know u could paint with pretty much anything so I figured I would ask .
Watercolour needs protection so yes one option is glass, there are a few others, spray fixatives/sealers, plexi etc.. I’ll keep this in mind for a future video 😊

You’ll enjoy the watercolours especially in the heat as they stay wet a lot longer☺️

I think you have inspired me to start up my watercolor ❤
That’s great to hear! Thanks for your comment Scott 😊
Subscribed. ❤ This is perfect timing. I’ve have recently been thinking of trying watercolors. What brand watercolors are you using?
Thanks Terri! I’m using Paul Ruben’s
Love this! One Question: Are you starting with wet or dry paper?
Thanks! Great question, this specific one was started on dry paper. I will be showing wet in wet techniques in my next video so stay tuned 🤗
@@paintwithjoni2336 Thanks, Joni!
Do you always have to frame water color under glass?
Watercolour needs protection so yes one option is glass, there are a few others, spray fixatives/sealers, plexi etc.. I’ll keep this in mind for a future video 😊
What watercolor palette is that ?
Paul Rubens watercolours and paint pans. I’m also using my white board to paint on and hold supplies. It works wonderfully!
