- Henstep Valley Trail is the next in our series covering the Drivable Trails of Bald Eagle State Forest.
This is our favorite trail so far with a good mix of varying terrain.
I see you 'fording' that mud pit around 2:40 and cringed as I watched the muck hit the bumper. The depth of those things scare the daylights outta me. I don't have any recovery gear and I wouldnt even want to open my door if I did...lol
I can do without the mud pits quite frankly.
Thanks for sharing your adventure.

Yes, they do catch you surprise sometimes. Luckily in BESF they have a hard rocky bottom which makes it easier.
Henstep is amazing. Looks like it’s at about the same water levels as 3 weeks ago when we went. The video doesn’t do those water holes justice. We took an explorer on the trail in our group and it slashed its tire in one of the pits and had to finish the trail on a donut lol we also had to chainsaw a tree near the beginning so you’re welcome 😉 love the shots. I wish I didn’t accidentally erase my tripod shots for my video.
Yes we really enjoyed Henstep. You're right, the video doesn't show the full extent of the water holes. Thanks for removing the tree for us.
nice video, I am east about 117 miles, bucks county, will try to make the trip soon, just 2 of us, will try to get 2 more to go,
Nice. We did the trip in May. I think it’s going to be very different after the rain the last few weeks. Vermont has some really nice trails.
Do you air down? It doesn’t look like it to me. That may be something you want to look into it will smooth out your ride and also help decrease your chance of a puncture. But anyway I enjoy your videos keep them coming please. Doing Henstep Saturday
I do air down occasionally but sometimes I get lazy and don't. You're right though it makes for a much more comfortable ride and safer ride. Enjoy the trail. Henstep is one of my favorites.
Which side of Henstep do you enter from? Is it one-way? thanks.
We entered from Hunter rd. I don't think it's one way and it seems like most people do it starting at Hunter rd. It does get pretty narrow in places and turning around would be difficult. It's a great trail though. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
When are you slapping a Snork on that 4RNR?
I want to, but also want to get a winch. Can't decide which one should come first.

Yes. I think you're right.
dirt bikes and atvs allowed?
Dirt bikes yes. Atvs no. There are however atv trails within Bald Eagle. Check out purple lizard maps for details.
