I don't have taxidermy, but I have a collection of stuffed animals so I understand how she feels about them. I especially love my cows and my alligators, they are done really well. Very fluffy and fat, and really huggable. So adorable...and they do stare at you which is great.

I had a great uncle that did taxidermy as a hobby. His last wish was to be stuffed and displayed at the top of the stair case in his house.
He was there welcoming everyone for a few years. Scared pretty much everyone that visited(can never imagine how his children could have ever live there). I was the lucky few that never saw it.

@@AD-eg9cw Well... I would put doubt on it of only my cousins tell it.(they love scaring use younger relatives when we were all kids to teens)
But not only do they still say it's true now as adults with families. My aunts and uncles confirmed this as well.
So... hard to say it's just made up if the majority of my family says it's true.

It's fake, because it's absolutely illegal to "stuff" a human being and display them, unless his family mudered and stuffed him themselves.

In explaining her fascination with the taxidermies, where she says something akin to she likes walking in and seeing them looking at her, I couldn't help but be reminded of red dragon where the serial killer puts shards of glass in the dolls' and victims' eyes. She definitely has a bit of creep in her but I dig it.

Hearing Conan's raspy voice reminds me of how a talk show host probably doesn't get sick leave because they're integral to the daily output of everyone's work, and he did that for almost three decades...
I used to have a friend that her dad collected taxidermy and there was literally an animal in every room except for two bedrooms. In the living room, there was an elephant head on the wall (tusks intact and it was low enough that you could actually touch it) and there was a glass showcase room in the corner that was decorated like Antarctica because he had a taxidermied polar bear. I'm not even kidding. I have petted a dead elephant and a dead polar bear. In the dining room and hallways there was the usual deer heads and the occasional gazelle head. And at the end of the hallway, he had a full sized adult jaguar. It was literally the best house ever.

When I was little, my grandpa had a whole bunch of dead animals that he shot while hunting displayed all around his fireplace. The most impressive was a young bald eagle he had mounted on the top, in an "attack" pose. It was the coolest thing ever. I called it "The Dead Animal Room". I assure you, it's nowhere near as creepy as it sounds :P
