    Here I am…in 2022 just discovering that some of the most memorable songs from the 70s were by The Babys. What an incredible voice John Waite has! I also had no idea Jonathan Cain was in the band pre-Journey. Better late than never!

      I didn't know either that Jonathan Cain was with the Baby's now with Journey. Saw rush too but can't remember if the Babys were their opening act. Where did u see Rush. I saw them in Chicago at the Amphitheater I think it was 78 or 79 can't really remember. Guess getting old 62 yrs old female.

      Wrong: John Charles Waite (born 4 July 1952)[1] is a British rock singer and musician. As a solo artist, he has released ten studio albums and is best known for the 1984 hit single "Missing You", which reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the top ten on the UK Singles Chart. He was also the lead vocalist for the successful rock bands The Babys and Bad English.

    Jonathan Cain on keyboards in this video showed "Open Arms" to John Waite - and he turned it down because he thought it was too sappy! So later he showed it too Steve Perry while in Journey, and the rest is history. But this song by the Baby's is their best song in my opinion. I always crank it up when I hear it.

    • @maxslamer
      @maxslamer 8 лет назад +2

      It was actually written by Dominic Bugatti and Frank Musker. John Waite thought the song was crap and made some changes, so it is credited. to Waite, Bugatti and Musker. It's always been my Baby's favourite as well, but it would be interesting to hear the original, crappy (?) version. :)

      These guys were on the verge of approaching that rarified air of superstardom, but never quite made it. I wonder of Waite's ego had anything to do with that.

      @@maxslamer wrong. History proves it was Jonathan Cain free who wrote it. Steve perry made it happen. Journey made it famous. Period.

The old school drum riser . It Is drumulicious !!!!!! Must be some kind of custom build . I would be In heaven If I had that kit . Gotta love the Marshall stacks also !!!!!!!
