Actually, Aoi didn't leave the band because he wanted to be a solo artist. Intetsu, Yume, Takehito, and Kenzo all felt pressure or something along those lines from their music company and they wanted to leave it. Aoi stayed in it as a solo artist because he felt he was indebted to them for all the work they put in for Old Ayabie. Thus, AYABIE was formed and Aoi became solo.
I can't believe I've been listening to to ayabie for this many years! I started liking them even before Ryohei left to join Megamasso. And now Yume-chun is the vocalist! I never knew that Yumehito could even sing when he was in Soroban (before he joined ayabie).

why people hates this ayabie? i mean ryohei left the band and he is happy with megamasso, and aoi left the band cus he want to be a solo artist so its not their fault that ryohey and aoi left them behind!
I haven't listened to Ayabie since I saw them in NYC back in 2008, but I actually rather like Yumehito as a vocalist. He has a cute voice. ^^ Plus he's a very nice and funny guy. Idk about other people, but I think of Ayabie as in 3 different phases (pre-Ryohei's leave, Yumehito joining through Aoi's departure, and Yume as vocalist aka now). It's hard to compare each phase because they all have different music styles.
Aoi doesn't define Ayabie, I think what they did is perfectly okay. It seems like "Ayabie" is a personal concept for them that can't just be split. I think it's better this way because both sides seems to enjoy what they're doing. c: Aoi gets to do the things he wants and AYABIE gets more freedom and they get to continue on with "Ayabie."
Sort of. Ayabie isn't all together, since Aio left to do his own thing. But now the remaining members are still a band. Instead of ayabie(all lower case) thier now AYABIE(in all caps) So the band's still there, just no Aio, at least that's what i've heard.

@Tsukishima100 It's actually Yamada only. It has "desu" because in English "I'm Yamada". Japanese (us) sometimes uses "desu" in the end of our sentence. Example "Nana desu" but it's more formal if it uses watashi/ore/boku.
@zackisverybored Aoi was left behind. He is still in Ayabie alone. This AYABIE is the 3rd era. Aoi and Ryohei is in their own collaboration and doing old ayabie music era.

やっぱ、本職のボーカルじゃないのは解るよな。葵さんも決して歌唱力で売ってたボーカルとは思わないけど、「フロントマン」としての表現力が間違えなくあるよね。
ギタリストからボーカルに転向して大成功した事例は、PIERROTのキリトさんだと思うけどやっぱ表現力と個性があるよね。
