I still play this game in 2022 I'm almost done with the career mode I have 47 out of 49 cars unlocked I beat 31 championship mode events now I'm chipping away at ultimate racer events to unlock championship event 32 to get the 360 Modena. The rubberbanding and police kill my chances of winning especially during tournaments that's my only gripe with NFS Hot Pursuit 2 on the PS2 it's my favorite NFS game because it's so damn fun compared to Underground 1 & 2 at least most wanted mixed the game play of Hot Pursuit 2 with the gameplay of Underground 2 which made that game also really fun and hard at the same time.
Only having played PC version before and seeing PS2 gameplay on these videos for the first time makes me wonder how many content I missed as a child.. This whole area wasn't available on my game
this games hot pursuit mode is cocaine.. 15 years since i played it, yesterday got emulator and got this running on my laptop. didn't think this game will still hold up after so many years and its just nostalgia that says to me this is great game. was i wrong. This game is THE GAME u want to play to get rush for high speed chases. Just got soo many things just right. Just something different about this game that modern developers cant understand
Theres a trick i used on national forest if u have the opel speedster and hang off the ramp your car would stand pointing up to the sky and is rack up 1,000,000 points when i left for work and got back home...Good times!!
my young self was way too tryhard for getting the best lap times. id always take the optimal shortcut routes etc and brake for corners at the right time cuz wallriding isnt faster in this game. even now i cant help but cringe at his pathing. also nerf the f50 lol. that car was stupid op for its class.
I agree I always use the Carrera GT but the F50 is op af Hot Pursuit 2 and Underground are broken especially in later levels I hate the F1 races because they are broken because of the crazy rubberbanding.
