I love stouts with chocolate/coffee/cinder toffee flavours and quite liked this one. Wasn't overly sweet and I liked the hit of nuttiness/smoothness and yes definitely hid the abv well. Also the body was good I felt. I wish unbound did dark dimensions still or at least sold the silk stout in can form as it's bloody out of stock all the time 😂
Simon, two points. One, the Pharmaceutical Industry has for the last century used synthetics to recreate natural occurring medicines for profit, as you can't patent these items. Seems to me that some Craft Brewers are going down the same route. What can we replace in a beer to make more money. Exotic, maybe, but a plain Imperial stout is by far the best option. Still love Robinson's Old Tom Original coming in at 8.5% ABV in a 330ml bottle. No celebrating it's 125th year. Two, you showed the Black Sheep Imperial stout which came from your Black Sheep Advent calendar, but never reviewed the beers on your channel. Was this just for your personal consumption, or will it happen in 'dry January' ?
I'd try one, but don't think I'd drink a lot of them. Just treated myself to a few beers from around the world from a great corner shop near Gabalfa flyover 👍👍
I was in my local Waitrose in Poole this past weekend and they were still selling Toast Brewery beers. They didn't have the tequila I went in for though 😔
They are heading down the mass produced road. Even their higher end releases aren't a patch on other breweries like Track, Neon Raptor, Overtone and Cloudwater. Very avoidable brewery nowadays.
They do still brew great beer, you just decided with your obvious pre-conception or fixed thinking that you think they ONLY do Novelty style beer in the Supermarket and you miss dozens of great beer because you're too tight to buy it direct from the brewery or desperately trying to chase the Dragon of 2020-21 when Supermarkets up their game with better beer selections. It's not the breweries that have changed it's the supermarket squeezing and the cost of production that has change last 2-3 years with the Cost of Greed Crisis, so what you get now rather than 2-4 different beers from a brewery in the supermarket Token Gesture Beer or a Flagship beer because the Brewery has to change it to suit the supermarket's needs not the customers needs. So they save the good stuff direct from themselves for people who are prepared to recognise the different of paying an extra quid or 2. There's points systems, free delivery, and discount codes to offset the cost from the Brewery itself you can use instead of just moaning about one part of it which clearly isn't aimed at you specifically and doesn't represent the range of beer you can get from a still relatively small brewery. Either buy direct show the fuller range or stop this type of video and trying to flog a dead horse. You act like N.M are the ONLY brewery to make a Novelty beer? Come on Lad Change your Research and Reviewing Approach. Amount of Free Beer you get given you can easily afford an extra 10-15 quid for a Beer Order Online.
Why do you review beers you might not like, because you can! Don’t mind sweet so much as long as it has a bitter back end. Also agree about Tesco beer selection has gone downhill. One thing I’ve noticed is that there are loads more smaller regional breweries which is more positive for the future of beer.
As much as i love stout this was truley disgusting just tastes of chemical flavoring had to force it down at £4 a can Wish they would just bring the deathstar stout back I agree that the supermarket craft beer game has dropped off there used to be some amazing beers Now there all down to one shelve of low abv beers mostly brew dog for maximum prices

Tesco has two new really good hazy IPAs from Tiny Rebel and they haven't got any of that artificial stuff in them.

I am not a fan of these flavoured beers prefer beers not messed around with. Why can't they just brew a really good strong stout instead?
