How long has they been sitting, dry?? Because EVERY TIME I have air in between my spackle scoops inside a glass, it turns moldy....but it a few weeks to a couple months!
I give it around 5 days to fully dry, Have you tried a different spackle? It shouldn't go mouldy, the other reason could be you are adding far too much paint to your mixture

Hi, I read a tip that advised dropping some silica beads in to your vessel before adding the ice cream, and that stops mould from forming. x
