Casually watching Midsomer Murders and all of a sudden I hear the voice of Seth Lakeman? Wow, what a wonderful surprise! I had to abandon the TV and come here to give it a good listen. Hauntingly beautiful as almost everything he does. Great duet. ❤
Christ I get the goosebumps hearing this song. Absolutely all over my body. Eerie music and quite hypnotic and addictive. Played it like 10 times now, over and over and over. But it's just beautiful. Absolutely beautiful! 😌
Absolutely beautiful song and voice! And I love the scenery in this video. I know it's supposed to be images of England but it could totally also be my home in Kentucky's bluegrass region. ❤❤❤
Nope, this version is better simply because it has more violin - the supreme queen of all musical instruments - and the violin tune here sounds more folky than in the male version.
Love this song. Seth is amazing and I think folk really suits Lucie. Far more striking than anything she did on X Factor. I loved the version with Seth on the show too, so I do hope it is on his album. It would have been nice as a duet perhaps?
Just heard this song for the first time and completely by accident while Channel flicking and Midsomer murders was just starting. A Hauntingly beautiful song. Love songs that tell a story like this which is why I'm a big iron maiden fan. I also love these folky type acoustic songs. Can't stop listening to this. Absolutely beautiful.
beautiful... I thank you very much for this perfect female version - you give this song the touch of this special maiden, who embodies the power of female ancient wisdom of the world's secrets - passed through centuries and medieval ages caused by true fairytales - alas without happy endings... greatly performed XXX LOVE Linda
That was Seth singing in the episode and he will be singing on the forthcoming album, but I can't say whether it will be the full version of the track.
What a darn minute. Where is the rest of the song at??? "No headstone to mark him. No lover to grieve him....etc". We are Midsomer Fans true, but will not buy an incomplete song.
There is nothing pure about the anglo-saxon culture in England... it's 2020, mate. And even if you went back to the very starting point of anglo-saxon culture... it's anglo + saxon, the epitome of a mixed culture.
Watching the episode now on Netflix. As soon as it begun to play i knew I had to hear the entire thing. I prefer Seth's voice, but this a good version too.
I Love midsomer Murders & im only 10 XD Haha I just instantly fell in love with it & this song brings so much joy into my life It calms me when im sad lovely song I think its mostly Lucie's Calming voice
C est quand mm marrant que je ne me souvienne pas d une aussi belle chanson. Il a fallut que je regarde l épisode aujourd'hui pour decouvrir cette chanson triste. Du coup elle est dans mes favoris.
Great song and lovely voice, a duette with seth involved would be good as well, just an idea and would also like to hear just the version that seth sung (johnny carver? I think) :)
So beautiful, this is real music. I don't follow the X-Factor, so this has introduced me to the beautiful and talented Lucie Jones. I would love it if she were to do a whole album with Seth.
Any tips for likewise music of the original? > I absolutely adore the song (original by Seth L.) > I tried his other songs.. but it seems I dont have an ear for them. This, here, is perfection.
"The Ballad of Midsomer County" is One of my favorite "Midsomer Murders" episodes -- love this song!
I got goosebumps listening to this song. Shockingly good, can't stop listening

That wasn't Seth Lakeman's voice. He only put the lyrics to the music and accompanied on fiddle.
@@leavingitblank9363 There is a version with him singing instead of Lucie.
Seth Lakerman Version. @@leavingitblank9363 ruclips.net/video/3qblsLneJd0/видео.html
Shockingly good for a song custom-written to serve a mere detective-story episode...
I know, right?? Unbelievably good!! 🙀
Spoiler alert Right but sadly you don’t hear her sing the whole song at the end of the show but here you do thank goodness and thank you Silva So much
Look up Marginal Love. It was the center of a murder on DCI Banks
I didn't use to watch this TV but I Saw the episod and I'm still obsessed by this song 🥲❤️
@@markpettis2896Actually, it's not even the full song here. There are another four stanzas she left out.
I love this show.
Recommended by a friend who has listened to it over and over. I understand why. Folk singing and songs still lives on.
Great recommendation - big thanks to you (and your friend!) for loving this
Midsomer Murders S17 ep.3 (The Ballad of Midsomer County). The song is beautiful, somehow it has a celtic lull.
Midsomer Murders with John Barnaby brought me here ! 😃
I'm just watching the episode on ITV3 which has this song in it
Me too
Me 3!
I'm watching the episode right now!
Me too.
What a fantastic song…so glad to have found that it’s an actual song and not just a clip for the show.
Magic... Pure and mystical
Christ I get the goosebumps hearing this song. Absolutely all over my body. Eerie music and quite hypnotic and addictive. Played it like 10 times now, over and over and over. But it's just beautiful. Absolutely beautiful! 😌
@Camille Mayberry did he claim otherwise???
Yes, everytime I listen to it. I think the string strumming causes it😂
I love this show. I just discovered it and I can’t help but binge.
What a beautiful song. Gets under the skin. ❤
I started watching this show 22yrs ago when I married a Brit and moved to London. This might be my favorite episode.
On FB MSM page they are taking votes for fav episode
Unbelivebal...Best Folksongs ever...👍
Just watched Midsomer Murders and heard this, had to find out if it was on RUclips. And delighted to find it here, superb!!
Just love this song ♥️ Lucie has a beautiful voice
Yes was very pleasantly surprised to hear when watching midsummer murders. Immediately rewound credits to see who sang it!
Wonderful soundtrack!
Absolutely beautiful song and voice! And I love the scenery in this video. I know it's supposed to be images of England but it could totally also be my home in Kentucky's bluegrass region. ❤❤❤
It's beautiful and was surprised when I googled it that it turned out to be a whole song after the show 😊
I remember being transfixed as an ordinary Midsommer episode opened with this haunting song....
I didn't use to watch this TV but I Saw the episod and I'm still obsessed by this song 🥲❤️
Fantastic episode tonight due to the music score. Lucie has a Beautiful voice. Would love to hear the full Seth Version in full !!
Beautiful song2024!
Lucies version was very nice, but Seths version was fabulous, I hope to hear it again.

Sethhs version is more intence, more folk-like
I like this version. The guitar music is softer and doesnt drown out the words.
Nope, this version is better simply because it has more violin - the supreme queen of all musical instruments - and the violin tune here sounds more folky than in the male version.
@@voloshanca i agree. This is softer and more intense version than seths. Violin and lucies voice makes it special
Absolutely stunning song. Not a folkie but this song is so special!
Bring back our heritage - we should have hundreds of these songs produced every year to the greater glory of Merry Old England!
And of course the ironic thing is that she's singing about a fictional county.
@@commandert5 yeah but she's singing in the style of old english folk songs/ballads
😑🙄
@@commandert5 and she's Welsh !
I never listen to this kind of music but wow. This is amazing.
A very haunting tune , so beautiful ❤
It reminds of Sandy Deny singing Fairport Convention songs. So beautiful it makes blood freeze in veins...
Incredibly beautiful!! 😍😍❤❤ Especially THE VIOLIN! 🎻 And Lucie's voice!
A pure voice - what a talent
Seth's version is truly beautiful.
I love this song. Heard it on Midsummer Murders
I wish I could get both sets of vocals. I'd be happy to pay for them. Love the male vocals I heard on the show.
What a voice, stunning

That was Seth singing in the episode and he will be singing on the forthcoming album, but I can't say whether it will be the full version of the track.
Please try as its Brilliant !!
Hell yes!! He's got to sing it.
I like Lucie's version, but it can't top Seth's haunting vocals that are heard throughout the episode. I really hope he will release his version!
Kiran Arain I know! I'm really hoping there'll be a whole Seth version. And please no region lock...I already can't buy Lucie's version *sob* :'(
Kiran Arain

was thinking the same thing
Just read the comment they made a year prior to yours. "I can't say wether it will be the full version of the track"
Beautiful! Lyrically poetic and musically emotive. This transports me
I could let this song play forever, and I'm a Korn fan!
I stumbled on the episode tonight. This time I had to learn more.
I am german and adore England....I have been there many times...pure Anglosaxon culture....I feel so comfortable in good old England...

Wish someone could tell me where to get the full version being sung by Lucie and Seth. Especially Lucie her vocals are so hauntingly beautiful.
It’s on Apple Music, and Spotify
Beautiful song. I too liked the blokey version, was that actually Seth singing it?
Yes. Setj samg in the midsomer episode. I personally prefer lucies version mind
I see this Show just now
❤
I wish I could get the male only singer version from the show.
That was Seth Lakeman singing (as Johnny Carver).
I suddenly get a urge to replay Enderal!😇
Is there a version With chord drawings for learning this on accoustic guitar? I would love to learn this ballad.
