I've said this all year. This team thrives on being the underdog. The narrative today is that the Rangers can't keep up with Florida. I fully believe the Rangers will play a much better game Friday to claw back into the series. THEY JUST WON'T QUIT. The reality is... even with the poor play the game was winnable. Posts, missed nets, fluke goals against...etc. A couple different bounces and we're the ones winning 3-0.
Despite getting stifled most of the game with the Panthers clogging the neutral zone and aggressively forechecking, this game was extremely even. Panthers didn't really seem dangerous, they shut things down. This series is wide open still. Get a few more chances, bury a few shots, and Panthers are gonna have just as much trouble generating quality chances and coming back in a game.
@frankpropri540 I think you're focusing on the score more than me. Panthers scored a soft goal early and that was the game. Rangers went toe to toe on high danger chances (actually had one more than Florida). Rangers hit three posts. They were even on possession, shots, and hits. Rangers actually had higher expected GF. The stats show a very even game, and the eye test --while definitely showed a Rangers team that was stifled and couldn't generate sustained pressure-- also didn't show a Panthers team that was very dangerous at all. They trapped their way to a win. Very beatable if that's their series game plan because they will not shut out this Rangers offense every night.
@@chrisf7563 lol ok game was never in doubt Panthers were in control Rangers were skating around in the circles lost. Even your boy, Mr. New York ranger Mark messier Said they got dominated. I guess you're gonna argue with him too
@@frankpropri540 Bro, I don't care what Messier thinks. He's entitled to his opinion, but Panthers objectively did not dominate this game. Am I happy with the Rangers performance? Absolutely not. But there is no reason to panic here at all. Florida is very beatable.
Rempe for chytil or vesey, vesey been turning the puck over too much and chytil yea great to see him in but he does nothing for the team right now and has no symmetry with any lines. Get chytil off the ice haven't had him all year no point in "trying" in the playoffs when we need to win games.
You realize once Florida got the lead they were quite comfortable for checking and clogging up the neutral zone? They didn't need to press for another goal because they do very well at protecting one goal leads.
@@deadeye110 yes, but Carolina had leads in the series as well and it was a different story. Also, a 1 goal lead is nothing to be comfortable about in today's NHL so if that's enough for Florida to fall back on in the first period, then make it two silver linings.
The rangers have no hope of winning this series. You saw last night what Florida does. And you will continue to see that throughout the series. You think it was bad at MSG? Wait till they go back down to Florida
You act like they just won the series. It’s one game. I would say hopeless if it were 3-0 going into game 4 in Florida but it’s one game. Too soon to say no hope!
I really think that Quick should start Game 2. It's nothing against Igor he's been fantastic but he's starting to make some mistakes and maybe he needs some rest after the last 2 series. Quick is a veteran and would play great for a game or 2 while Igor gets some rest...just saying.

The only silver lining in this game is that Florida didn't really have any high danger chances.
