Even if there is no part 2, it's still a great life lesson for the boy character. Stopping the story at this point, with no happy endings, would illustrate how his ornery actions have lasting repercussions that he can't "fix", no matter how guilty he may feel about mistreating Maria.
I love how Luis plays different character roles especially when he played the immigration officer. But the funniest part was the first guy getting mad at the kid for scamming him and telling him he'll rip his head off.
Nathan shouldn’t feel bad for deporting Maria because Maria did a crime for crossing the border illegally and I think Nathan did the right thing. If someone wants to get in the USA then they should get in legally.
