- After over a year I finally took time to complete this project and I proudly present a video made with all my greatest love and passion, my ocs are my world and giving them voices have always been my favorite thing so when I came across @jellyfishkisses3370 ; the most perfect voice fit for Magpiewing imaginable I knew I wanted to make a project like this!
This ended up done right on time with last week's video haha, apologies for the double Magpiewing content but I'm so excited to show this!!

-Magpiewing and Crowsong (they're long distant relatives pls don't ship them) meet once as kits and befriends each other for a day until Horizonclan travel onwards, they then rekindle their friendship for a short, but well spent time together.

As I've mentioned here and there; my ocs stories are a pure hobby and passion project. I don't intent for it to become a series or animated show, I want them to stay personal to me and be a fun at project I get to control and tell independently (ofc with the help of so many friends from the community through M.A.P's and collabs).
I am not actively looking for voice actors and most my projects are solely music based! This happened to be such a fun and perfect opportunity to bring these characters to life and give more context to story points and I really do hope you enjoy it!

I like the subtle animation of Crowsong when Magpiewing told her that she has a pretty name, it speaks to the fact that no one had been kind to Crowsong or said something like that to her before.

I really like Crow's reaction to Magpie saying her name is pretty, it was mentioned in her toy house that her name has an ironic implications because of the corvids being considered songbirds when all they're known for is their coarse caws, so that reaction could easily be because Crow herself. Knowing the implications behind her name, never saw it as pretty, and magpie being unaware of those implications complimenting it took her by surprise!
I remember seeing that first scene early July this year, I was super hyped when I saw it! The voice actors did extremely well with conveying emotions while staying in character. I can tell that everyone worked extremely hard on this!

I know it sounds silly, but anything with Magpie always gives me such a pretty blend of happiness and sadness. We have a similar story- I wanted to work in a medical field for a little while. I loved making a difference and providing comfort where I could, but it hurt me so much. There were patients I just couldn't help and there was something about that emotion that I wasn't able to let go of. I finally stepped away from it, I'm not sure if I'll go back. I carry those stories with me. She's also a free spirit, I consider myself one as well, and one day I hope I find something that makes me just as happy and open to the world as I wish to be. I know we don't know all of her story, but we seem really alike, and I look forward to seeing where she'll go, what she'll do. Thank you for sharing your characters! They mean a lot to some of us 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing your story and the kind words that means a lot to hear! I can only imagine being an actual medic irl and it’s sad but also interesting to hear. I really wanted to explore the more harmful parts of being a healer cat as I’m surprised it’s not more of a topic; trying to save hurt friends and family only having plants and other things to help and often not being able to do so and what mental strain that puts on someone. It means a lot that it’s seen and understood and can be relatable to some!
YESSS ITS DONE!! I'm still in awe at the work and detail of the first animation, but the others are so pretty and perfectly expressed as well! Jellyfish did a beautiful job voicing Magpie!

Holy shit! She sounds literally IDENTITCAL to Emily Mortimer, I didn’t process this was voice acted until I heard her say “Magpiewing” (didnt have headphones in so I didn’t hear her saying Crowsong at first). Like wow! Not to mention she did an amazing job at delivering those lines. You can feel Magpie’s pain with everything she says, her calm sorrow, especially when she reflects on her time being a healer and trying to explain why she can’t do it. It sounds like she’s had to defend her choice a lot.
Your characters and lore and story is so unbelievably rich! With every new video you post, the more enlightening and inspiring they are! I’ve actually started experimenting with worldbuilding more just by seeing with how you do it, your lore is so SO cool! I can’t wait to see even more of this story!

I love how when Magpiewing says ‘What a pretty name’ Crowsong’s iris shifts a bit before her eye widens and she blinks. This is amazing, keep up the great work :D
this is genuinely so stunning, i keep rewatching it over and over again, you left me speechless!
it is so admirable how fluent the animation is and how you are able to stay on model despite everything being so complicated, it's actually mindblowing!
not to mention i absolutely adore seeing magpies story come to life and her interacting with other characters aAAA SO STUNNING I AM SO IN LOVE!

Oh my god this hit like a brick ;-;
This is one of the few moments we see Magpiewing and Crowsong interact, and you can tell Crowsong truly cares for her in her situation, unlike what we usually see around her clan. We even see how Magpie expresses her pain to Lily and the way her reaction switches when she realizes how worthless her best friend truly feels. The voice acting just makes the feeling even better! I can’t get enough of this!!

Dunno why but when Magpiewing says her name its just influctuated so perfectly, props to the voice actor for that! And dont get me started on the animation of that scene as well!

Overall, I love the Birb theme going on here! Aside from my disgustang jokes, ur artstyle never clouds my desire of me watching to *SQUISH* THE HELL OUTTA UR OCS!!! Can we talk about the first clip in the beginning? The expresion change from defensive (idk how to explain-) to suprise on Crow'Song's face was really cool. Magpie's lip syncing is SO good and smooth. The background is really detailed, especially the light shining through the trees. The birds chirping in the back. Everything about this is immaculate and beautiful! Good job, Lou. And good job to the voice actor!
