If a pageant is doing something brilliant for the community and impactful for society is Miss world. Regardless of what others might say, this competition gives the winner and the runners ups (regional winners) the chance to emphasised their project in their respective country.

Miss World is no 1 pageant in terms of contribution to the world. It is still the largest pageant. The winner is predetermined in a month of pageant season from first step in host country, not in final night only like Miss Universe.
Top 40 is chosen from the preliminary interviews, the head to head challenges and the multiple competitions like talent, top model etc.
Miss World is all about "Beauty with a Purpose" which really made it different from other pageants
The talent winner gets to perform every year, usually when the talent winner is a singer. Its doesn't necessarily come before top 5, it depends on how the show is produced.
I really wish Miss World India 2019 Suman Rao will go to Miss Universe. She could win that International crown for India ❤️

What I have noticed about miss World is that the contestants really do have an great time every year and they form a strong sisterhood even after the competetion. The organisation really takes good care of them. I think the pageant is all about good positive vibe and I think that's why the girls form a sisterhood on that. It's like going to a camp. Also Miss World winners have gone to become amazing leaders in their countries.
India is a powerhouse because we always send very talented girls at miss world ,it's hard to become miss India world than miss India universe because the girls in India always look at the worth of national paegant than international paegant, the paegant is actually ongoing you can have a look (femina miss India)

Even though the age qualification for Miss World is 17 to 26, most national pageants for Miss World have limits of 25 or younger. That's why most of the contestants are younger compared to MU. The average of a Miss World winner is about 20 years.

The MW vs. MU debate is pointless because they're just 2 different pageants. MU is more of an entertainment commodity as it's more focused on the celebrity aspect, making it the flashier, more exciting, more glamorous show, and is the loudest pageant at advocating for women. MW is more focused on general charity in all aspects, not just women empowerment. What it lacks in entertainment and prestige, it makes up for in the work it does on a wider scale than any other pageant. The Miss World Organization also holds its winners closer. Just look at Megan Young, who has appeared in EVERY SINGLE EDITION of the pageant after she won.
What about Miss International?
From what I know, Miss World contestants are always required to be able to dance traditional dances from their countries. Previously, the committee was only choosing several best dancers for what is called Dance of The World, and the other queens would follow the dances in the background with their own traditional costumes. And then in 2019 they just decided to feature all countries in the dances.

Miss World is a very well produced show with very beautiful contestants. I agree with many pageant fans that the show becomes frustrating and/or boring because after reaching the semifinals, there is no actual competition to be seen. They simply announce the next cuts without any competition or explaining what the cuts are based on. It would seem the judges just write down whoever they want to advance just based on their own preference, not on any scores, and just based on who they think is right for the job. I would compare Miss World to a very elaborate “homecoming queen” coronation event..there is no actual competition on the final night.
However, Miss World, with it’s British history, KNOWS how to crown royalty..you sit down and are crowned..no throwing flowers and sticking a unfitting crown on someone’s head..and the Miss World crowning march is everything! Miss Universe should take notes from Miss World on coronations
Vanessa Ponce de León is one of my favorite Miss World winners of all time, when she was crown as Miss Mexico 2018 people at first didn't like her.

So glad to see this recap! Miss World production changes every year. The top 40 comes out bu the head to head challenge (interviews) and the fast tracks scores (sports, top model, talent). But when they make the next cut I don’t know how do they do it because they never do a catwalk. Dances of the world is at the very beginning, it used to be short, you should react to 2011 & 2014’s those were really good!
Every year miss world gets to travel 30 to more countries and do her best charity work and also do other things ❤️
Very incredible show and organization. The winners do real good in the world and not just do photo shoots and interviews. The haters of this pageant are the ones whose queens do not fit the Miss World mould. Y’all stick to your Miss Universe because Miss World has a huge fan base and we are okay with the competition as it is. Not everything needs to be flashy and for tv audience. We love substance over here!

INDIA sends winner to Miss Universe! There are 2 different pageants Femina miss India and Miss Diva! The winner of fmi goes to miss world and the winner of miss diva goes to miss universe!
I think Miss World finals is more a crowning ceremony and the selection happens during the weeks prior final nights. By the time th contestants go on stage, Mrs Morley has already picked her winner.

tbh world was the first big pageant i followed and i loved how multifaceted it is - every girl can show off what theyre great at, whether it's sports, talent, modelling etc - but all you do is nothing if you don't have a great beauty with a purpose project. an authentic project. so i'm super content with how miss world is.
in terms of jamaica performing, yes the talent winner always performs regardless of her placement. in this instance, she just happened to be in the top 5, and i cant imagine that didnt help her out a bit haha.
side note - michelle dee is one of the freshest queens from the PH imo because MWP was her first ever pageant. she's also super humble, stands for autism awareness and such a great person from what i see on social media. she's also the daughter of miss international 1979!

I don't think there is anything stopping Miss India World from participating in Miss India Universe in a later year, since they are two different pageants nowadays. Earlier both the reps (Universe and World) used to be picked from the same pageant(Femina) similar to how South Africa does now. But later Femina gave up the Miss Universe franchise and now Miss Diva holds it. Dani, you should tell Suman(Miss World India 2019) to take part in Miss Universe India. I am sure she would be motivated by the words of a credible person like you :).
Suman cannot participate in Miss Universe India since both Miss India World pageant ( femina miss india) and Miss Universe India pageant (miss diva) are two different pageants under the same organisation which is the TIMES GROUP... THERE IS A RULE THAT THE WINNER OF MISS INDIA WORLD CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN MISS UNIVERSE INDIA AND MISS UNIVERSE INDIA CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN MISS WORLD INDIA

Dani I think you would have made a great candidate at Miss World. Shout out to Megan Gordon (former Miss South Carolina USA 2017) who was 1st runner at Miss World America 2020/21 and in 2019. Shout to 2019 in pageantry especially the American women of color representing USA in Miss Universe 2019, Miss Supranational 2019 , Miss International Queen 2019, and Miss Earth 2019 in addition the winners of Miss Universe 2019 and Miss World 2019 who were also women of color.

Hi Dani, Miss World has a very different prelim competition compared to Miss Universe and Miss Earth. The Talent, Top Model, Sports, Multimedia and Beauty With a Purpose are all prelim competitions. The winners of each gets to qualify to the top 40. If you place in each category regardless if you win or not, you get scored as well. The Head to Head challenge as well, those who win qualify for the top 40. However, from 40 to 12 is a huge question - some say the judges score them on over all. But from 12 to 5 is also another question. So in terms of prelims Miss World definitely stands out. But come finals night, it becomes questionable not like in Miss Universe and Miss Earth
If this helps, the winners of the challenges (Sports, Top Model, Talent, Multimedia, Beauty with a Purpose) are automatically advanced to the top 30/40. As for the Head to Head challenges (initiated in 2017), the contestants are split into groups, and the winners from each group compete against one another; only half of them will advance to the top 30/40. The rest of the top 30/40 are determined by the interview with the judges. The top finalists before announcing the winner are determined by who are the continental winners. This format was only applicable back in 2005 and 2006 until they brought it back in 2018. Hope this helps! 😉

Hey Dani😀 , it's actually that the winner of talent round goes to top 40 directly and she gets to perform and even sometimes it has happened that there is a tie so the both girls sing one by one and later in the show the winner is called out so it's a free entertainment 😉
Miss Multiverse is a reality show-style pageant held in Punta Cana. I've never watched it, but I know Corrin Stellakis (former Miss Earth Fire/USA) won the title a few years back.
I am surprised you didn’t know about Miss World. It is considered more prestigious than Miss Universe in Europe, Africa and most parts of Asia.
Growing up in the US, only Universe, USA and America were on tv. I learned about the quality of other shows later.
The MW has Fast Tracks each fast track has a winner that winner qualifies to the top 40 fos sure, if you qualifie in the Fast Track events you have more chances to go on, also they have the head to head challenge that is about debates between the delegates, in that challenge 20 of them qualifie to the top 40

Michelle - Philippines, I believed only competed once and won Miss World Philippines, and her mom happened to be the winner Miss International 1979. And yes! I agree that you should have competed if only the age. Overall, I love this video!
Suman Rao cannot participate in Miss Universe since she was the main winner of femina miss india 2019 while the Miss universe India org is also under the same management which is the Times of India group... The Times of India group have two pageants in India namely Femina miss india ( for Miss World and Miss grand) and Miss Diva (for Miss Universe and Miss Supranational).. The winners of the two pageants cannot join the other pageant

@@ada5271 Can someone please tell her that Miss Universe is a once in a lifetime opportunity. She has a lot of time of work in a movies later, but not for MU. If she comes back with MU crown, she'll get better movie offers. Otherwise she'll just be reduced to doing itsy bitsy roles in stupid films like many other ex-Miss Indias. Ask her to act wisely. I hope she stands for a cause, builds her own platform and then goes to MU. Movies offers and all of that will follow later.

We have a 9 yr old that will be competing in Sunburst state again this year. Which is a pageant we have come to love. As her adult teeth are still growing in she desperately needs a flipper. Could you suggest any reputable at home/mail in companies that offer this service?
We have never used flippers before and don't know where to turn.

I guess I can surmise from your frequent comments "I didn;t understand that..." as basically what the contest is. No wonder, nobody s paying attention to this pageant. It speaks volume that this is your first time to review this pageant and it took so long (but I can;t blame you....I haven't really followed it for years...it's quite a bore!). I can't feel an honest excitement from you (and who does!). I think it's rather a futile shot. Sorry.

Miss World is a beautiful pagent no doubt. However, a few things I have questions too. Like how do they select from top 40 to top 5? Cuz littery there is no competition on the stage apart from final question! Miss World Finale more looks like a beautiful musical than a competition. Also in final question round, 2 girls got same question and 3 got different! What kind of judgement type is it?

can not join in Miss World and Miss Universe, cuz both are different national competitions. Femina Miss India winner participates in Miss World and Miss Diva winner goes to Miss Universe, though organisers for both pagents is Femina.
Based on closed door interviews. They already have their top 5 girls from interviews, BWP, and fast track events, head to head.

- The Talent winner gets to perform every year for the final night.
-3 years ago, Miss World introduced the Head to Head challenge; the girls randomly choose numbers from a bowl and based on their chosen number they are typically placed in groups of 5 & 6 (20 groups in total, therefore, 20 episodes of Head to Head Challenge) and usually a past/reigning Miss World winner would interview them ( 2 questions each - one on their life/career etc. and another on their Beauty with a purpose social project.) Based on this, the public votes and and the girl with highest votes from each group is selected to be part of the top 20 of head to head and then moves on to a 2nd head to head round where they literally battle head to head in pairs defending their Beauty with a purpose projects. The Miss World chairman amongst other important persons form the organisation sit as judges and they select one girl from each pair. (The pairs are always the winner from the 1st group against the winner of the 2nd group and 3rd with the 4th etc). So in the end, there are 10 Head to head winners that automatically become the 1st 10 semifinalists in the top 40.
-Then, the winners of Sport, Talent, Beauty with a purpose, multimedia all get guaranteed spots in top 40 and the remaining spots are selected by the organization based on the Interview and the contestants overall performance during the one month duration of the pageant. It is not quite clear regarding he scoring system for the selection of the remaining semifinalists by the Organization.
-Miss World has no official round of competition on the final night until top 5. It is unclear as to what is really judged on the final night. We do not know the basis on which the cut is made from a top 30/40 to a top 10/12 and then to a top 5 as the girls do not truly compete. The hosts would usually say after announcing the semifinalists " and the judging starts now" but we have no idea what the judges are looking for to select the top 12 and then the top 5 as there is no official competition not even in evening gown.
- Miss World had a Beach Beauty Swimsuit Competition but it was removed in 2013 as the competition was held in Indonesia, a predominantly Islamic nation. However the organisation decided to remove this element for good as the Chairman believes that the swimsuits are for pools and the beach and do not belong on stage.
- Miss World is known for selecting girls who do not meet all the requirements of the competitions (Top Model, Sports, Talent etc) as semifinalists and leaving out perfectly prepared women who went through months of intense training to shine at the pageant. It is a very difficult pageant to place in even though there's a top 30/40 every year since 2017.
-A girl who has a Miss Universe vibe (Walk/attitude etc) is usually not favored by the MW organisation.
- Catwalk is not important in Miss World.
- The format of the pageant changes very often.
- One thing for sure is that their winners are always beautiful stunning women who are well deserving winners based on the Top 5 question & Answer round.
- Miss World had the same format as Miss Universe until the 90's. From the 2000's , it started to change to what it is today,

Miss World really lost it. They don't have idea what to do with this competition. Dragging without any excitement whatsoever. Jamaica deserved crown without doubt tho
