      If you really watched the show runner for seasons 5/6/7 wrote the character of Lucas so much like Jack. I think he was introduced and written to be Elizabeth’s next great love. Mountie Nathan fans influenced the writers to change the story. Storylines were omitted and dropped from seasons 8 & 9. Such confused characters. Most of them changed and acted totally different. The show creator has contradicted his own interviews. I’m not really interested in watching with my grandkids any longer. The fibs that were told will result in a decline in viewership. Christians do not pacify bullies.

    Season 10 was very well written. Has excellent connections to past and future, connections between stories, and the flow was lovely. But most of all it had heart and brought out lots of emotions. Lindsay and the writing team deserve all kinds of kudos, but so do the cast and crew. The performances were raw and filled with emotion, but also the comedic moments were delightful. The lighting, cinematography, and music were characters as well in their they added so much to make the stories stand out this season. Kudos to all! Best storytelling.

    This was really good! I actually didn’t know this show was doing all these interviews and such until recently. I’ve never heard of any show or network doing this, it’s quite generous! I have loved Hallmark and Hallmark movies for a long time but I appreciate the positive changes with more inclusive shows and movies, which makes them a lot more enjoyable and real.
    Loved the story Brian shared about the incarcerated person he interviewed! I strongly believe in redemption and accountability in a humane way. Prisons/jails set people up with more violence, hate, and isolation, and then make it impossible to reenter society - the opposite of what we want to change people’s hearts. The strongest force is love, always. I’d like to see Lori come back and the actor that played her son.
    I was surprised with the ending of Elizabeth & Lucas’ relationship. I didn’t see it coming and was still very optimistic until after the finale and Erin’s interview. But your aftershows have helped me come to terms with it. So it was “final” in previous seasons for Elizabeth to be with Lucas but like real life, they evolved and it’s just not right anymore. It is sad, I’ll admit. I just wish it wasn’t as rushed. I felt like she had made the right choice with Lucas at the time. I’d like to see Nathan not be so pushy, because before with the triangle he was. So hopefully he matures whenever she’s ready to be with him. I wonder though how they’re going to turn it around since Elizabeth said she loved Nathan but she’s not in love with him. I would love the wedding to be Henry & Abigail next season! They've established a deep love already and have been writing to each other.

      I think Brian bird would love to bring Abigail (Lori) back. However, Hallmark has the final say in that, not him. Hallmark fired her in 2019. Hallmark would have to rehire her in order for When Calls the Heart to be able to bring back Lori as Abigail. My guess is it's not going to happen. The show mentions Abigail every once in awhile. I think it's Brian and the writers way of saying they still care about Lori. That's about all they can do.

      The Official Hearties page blocked many positive comments made in regards to how they were happy the dreaded triangle ended and that Elizabeth chose Lucas to be her Lifetime. @@michaelinedegruy-zk3eu I believe you. That's what I heard also that certain fans were blocked as the official hearties doesn't like fans who want Lucas and Elizabeth together. That is terrible and shows how biased the people have become. I have nothing positive to say about what they did with the show for season 10 and doing for season 11. It is all just a soap drama because they want to make the Nathan fans happy. Nothing more. I am really negative that they broke the Christian principles and then also about the relationship with Lucas and Elizabeth. When they decided to do this, they destroyed the show altogether. It was supposed to have be a Christian series but they already broke and took away things from it that should have been there and put things in that don't belong. The other fans explained that the main characters are not acting the way there were in the other seasons. Only Henry, Coulters, and the Canfield's story and maybe Bill and Madelene's story were the only ones they were satisfied with this season. Everything else got changed during the season and they gave false promises that they were going to give Lucas and Elizabeth a wedding. That was what was promoted to the fans. It was a decision from show runner and him to change things up. People are saying that Sturman and the new writers don't now the show and characters well. They mentioned it in another interview and people are not happy with what they have explained. I am not hearing positive comments even though most people hear are happy with the interview. The long time writers were forced to follow what the show runner wanted and doesn't mean that they were happy about it. Most of the LucaBeth fans are upset not only with the breakup but that the series doesn't make any sense, not as great as they were promising, and the characters are no longer true to themselves. Many of the fans are saying that they will stop watching the series and others only want to continue watching because of Lucas. Elizabeth has not become a dislikable character in their eyes.

    • @TheCheyHAM
      @TheCheyHAM Год назад +11

      Majority of LucaBeth are upset with S10 because they never wanted to admit that E had feelings for N. Weird b/c in S8- E says she’s been torn between 2 men for far too long- so this proves she had feelings for N. In S10 she realizes that she made the wrong choice bc N kept calling to her heart. E just needed more time to discover and listen to her heart & honestly I feel like L rushed things with her bc he wanted love…especially with his “if this were a date comment”…. And every first they had- E hesitated…the Wolfe tickets, holding hands for the first time, their almost first kiss..E hesitated. And L saw the hug between E&N at end of S7 and he let her go at end of S8- all bc L felt that E had feelings for N. So, I don’t know why people feel like N was never a factor. Did they not see the Christmas episode? Did they not see E&N reaching for a fallen book in the library? Did they not see the S10 conversations and looks between E&N. Did they not notice the lack of enthusiasm with E’s wedding planning? And, the E&L breakup was mutual- they both realized they wanted different things. Relationships falter all the time and people grow apart. In summary, S10 made since- some fans just chose not to acknowledge these things.

    • @chelseakkong
      @chelseakkong Год назад +12

      @@TheCheyHAM I think you need to listen to what the L and E fans have to say from what they observed on the screen. Whatever ideas people thought is romance between E and N is not the same as what she has expressed towards L. They will explain that in full detail every episode they noticed every detail. They studied it. The original idea was that they wanted to step away from the mountie and teacher relationship and chose to do E and L. This season and next is a scrapping what happened in seasons 8-9 as the new show runner wants to go back to the mountie and teacher relationship and that is what she thinks it should be. She will do anything to make the show go that direction even if it doesn't naturally make sense. Every comment that I have heard from L&E fans has additional explanation. It is not just because they are fans of that relationship it. The storyline was still keeping the continuity but now seasons 10-11 is totally brand new story for the series. People observed the characters. Most of them are no longer the same character as in the previous seasons. Even L and E do not really act the same as the last few seasons. The breakup is not natural. The show runner forced the storyline to be changed. She even said she wanted to separate them and take them on different paths. She made it so that the stories had to follow her decision. E clearly said she and N are only friends. She had a disgusted look at N the first time after they dated when they were at the same log that they showed at the end of this series. Have to look back into seasons 6-9 how she was with Nathan. She didn't want him in those seasons even season 10 she told Rosemary that they are only friends and she was uncomfortable. Her reaction to N almost dying twice is because she is still thinking about Jack who she loves deeply. Sturman style is not matching with the flow of the series. She basically created a whole new story but trying to say its still linked to the previous ones. These are all comments the fans have stated. They see that the showrunner doesn't know the series or the characters. People have said she ruined Supergirl too. Many fans will stop watching. It's not just the relationship breakup. The storylines do not meet the standards of previous seasons.

    • @chelseakkong
      @chelseakkong Год назад +8

      @@TheCheyHAM I don't know if my comment was posted but if you check out the comments that people are saying from Everything about Hallmark, they explain the reason why S10 is not longer connected to the previous seasons. They make clear explanations why E and N were never in love. She said it multiple times that they are only friends. It is the show runner and director decision to change things up and separate E and L to go different paths but it was not natural or mutual. It was a forced storyline. Very few characters had a strong story this season and most of them were out of character. They basically are starting over again but trying to make it seem connected to the previous seasons. The characters are not the same. Elizabeth is no longer the way she was in the previous seasons. People complained that she is immature, selfish, refuses to compromise, and dishonest. She allowed her students to believe that Lucas broke up with her. She is still deeply in love with Jack yet engaged to Lucas and also having fear when she sees Nathan in danger she thinks of Jack. She hasn't recovered from her grief. There are scenes in the previous seasons that showed that she didn't want Nathan and she said it more than once that they are just friends. Many of the fans see the storyline this season is bad writing. There is a lack of sensitivity. Elizabeth previously was strong and full of faith. She used to pray and talk more about her faith. Instead of consulting Joseph and Minnie, she consulted Rosemary. She is acting like a young woman and not a mature woman. She had such a angry look on her face and seemed a bit cold too. Everyone in the town had no feelings of concern for what Lucas wanted. Everyone turned on him and only cared about Elizabeth. Many fans complained she is not Christian in her attitude towards Lucas. There is speculation that when they do continue and go with the direction that they are taking that Nathan will be repeating things that Jack did so it will not be new but repeated scripts.

    It was a betrayal Elizabeth takes 4 seasons to make a choice and a commit between two men and then you say she made a mistake. None of that made sense. Your writers were lazy you can tell by season 9 and 10 they made it boring and you take away the romantic portion of the show. “Don’t leave the world of the hearties.!” I’m gone, and if I ever hear through the grapevine that Elizabeth regrets her confusion and they write back the relationship, I might come back. I’m peace out until then. Hope you start at least get more realistic like in the beginning seasons.

    I was told this was supposed to be a Christian series but in several ways it hasn't fully embraced that and includes beliefs that are not biblical practices but traditionally established. If you listen to long term fans who really know the show, what they have done especially in season 10 is a reversal of what they did in seasons 8-9. Sadly, they are not allowing all fans to voice out how they feel. If you listen to Everything Hallmark, you will discover that they have decided to be bias about the reviewers and block out those who really see how they ruined season 10 and season 11 is not going to be much better due to the show runner's decision.

      Are you even listening to the interview? There are many reasons for decisions. Maybe Chris McNally wanted to step back on filming time but still wanted to be a part of the show. What better way to do so? I am in a job that also has to make decisions that many don't understand, but the decisions do lend for what is best in the long run....but at the time people don't see it. And the show is faith based, didn't say it was 100% Bible based....and yes this show is very faith based! Just my 2 cents worth. I get very protective of people who have to make hard decisions but get attacked for it! Tbh, this is really no different than all of the quotes "you never know what is going on with a person so don't judge them" ...

    • @chelseakkong

      @@cathifeeny8260 I also listened to other fans who know the show well. The season 10 and 11 have no more connection to the previous seasons. They are starting a new story from Nathan's point of view without realizing how it is affecting the story writing as a whole. It no longer has a continuous flow. Elizabeth doesn't act like a Christian in the way she handled her breakup with Lucas and also she as not honest to the children. She never told them the truth that it was her that broke the engagement and allowed the students to believe that Lucas is bad and they are angry at him. Fans complained about this too. They don't like Elizabeth this season as her character is opposite of who she is in the previous seasons even Lucas became a bit cold. Mei acts like a young girl and Fiona is doing match maker. Fans were so upset about many things.

      @@cathifeeny8260 Chris McNally said in another interview that he is actually interested to see how they take Lucas on a new journey. He didn't say he is leaving or stepping aside. It was the show runner's decision to drive Elizabeth and Lucas apart. She commented in her interview that she wanted to show him in a bigger role and how the two of them don't have the same calling. I have been joining other podcasts. Many of the fans watching the show are not happy with Sturman and Brian Bird after watching season 10 and not looking forward to season 11. They made their comments that it is not just because of the breakup but it is the overall storylines don't have connectivity of flow to the previous seasons and certain characters behaviour also has changed. Many did not have a major storyline. Sturman even admitted she binge watched the series so she didn't know the series and characters when she was writing and setting the direction for this season and next. The new writers that joined with her also don't know the series well. I may sound very critical but since I started watching the series it was likeable and okay. Sturman even shared that she got ideas from other people she knew so she was not familiar with Christian practices. Now fans said this has become a soap opera. The fans also commented that faith aspect is less prominent as they don't show them praying like they did and they have less faith conversations and less church and less of Joseph pastoring. The focus is now more of every day life like modern day matters. They add in things that are not biblical practices like the baby baptism and the candle lighting. There are probably more that I missed.

    I'm sorry, but I'm one of the Hearties that's in total disbelief with the changes made to Elizabeth & Lucas' storyline. I didn't watch DALLAS, but I do remember when it was all over the TV, 'Will Patrick Duffy return to Dallas?' Another Dallas event that also hit the newspapers was, ' Who Shot JR?' Then there was General Hospital, 'Will Luke & Laura get married?' The answer was 'Yes!'. Oh my goodness, that TV Soap Opera wedding was almost as great as the wedding of Princess Diana & Charles. There was a big deal made throughout the U.S. about everyone stopping to watch the fictional wedding of Luke & Laura. The wedding pictures of Luke & Laura hit the front page of numerous newspapers. And guess what, General Hospital continued Luke & Laura's storyline for many, many years. WCTH has great writers. They built a beautiful, loving, heartwarming relationship between Elizabeth, Lucas & Little Jack. They had Nathan accepting & moving on after claiming his love for Elizabeth & having his heart ripped out when she said, 'I Love you, but I'm not in love with you.' And Allie, she accepted that Elizabeth chose Lucas. Then after talking with Elizabeth she realized that Dad (Uncle Nathan) will talk with her when he's ready to have someone else in his/their life. Unfortunately, what now comes to mind is a line from the movie Pretty Women, 'big mistake, huge'. I don't usually get so emotionally invested in TV shows but WCTH is so great, how can could you not be? But after Season 10, I just can't get my mind to stop thinking about the storyline switch-a-roo & how unbelievable it seems. I know in reality, engagements get cancelled & people change, but again, the writers did an amazing job building the relationship of Elizabeth & Lucas that there just isn't a believable story to end that storyline unless one of the characters were to die like Jack did. Sorry this is so long. Now that I'm older sometimes I rattle on not knowing when to stop. Maybe I'll put on an uplifting Hallmark movie like Sailing into Love with Chris or Winter Castle with Kevin or It was Always You with Erin. Oh, last night I watched 'Checkin' it Twice' with Kevin..... wonderful, just wonderful, heartwarming Christmas movie! Yes, I'm old & watch too much TV. 😮😊

      And you make sense in everything you’re saying & you are absolutly right .If the writers thought the shouw would die with the wedding
      of Lucas &!Elizabeth then I guess they have no imagination.
      Rosemary & Lee have been married for so long & the show still goes on .

    Thank you for the wonderful interview. For Brian Bird my message is #NewActress4Abigail. Unlike the character Henry, who is very remorseful, Lori Loughlin showed none for her white collar criminal college admissions adventure. Carter Ryan, who played her son, lost his place on the show when she was removed, and hurt him as well. Keep the character -- get a new actress to replace Lori! #NewActress4Abigail
