The steering yoke can't be centered because the math doesn't workout in the gears. Its been that way with the last 3 f1 models. The grand prix racer I think is the last one that centers because it was a high nose f1 car and they had room for bigger gears. I really like that there was finally pull rod suspension in this model in the rear. Hope they do a Ferrari next year. Charles Leclerc is my favorite driver
I'm happy lego starts to pay more attention to these details rather than just build a look alike model. I still remember when they put the double wishbone structure on the GT3RS years back
it can be centered a lot better though. if you follow instructions it will be around 20 degrees (freeplay included) but you can get it down to around 3.5 degrees if you turn the 12 teeth gear on the rack one tooth. But the instructions are more clear if they keep everything in line from the start rather then the end.
I wasn’t too into this set when it was revealed (just not a technic fan) but after seeing some reviews, it looks amazing! I might end up buying it. Hopefully it goes on sale some day.
Great review, and nice to watch your enthousiasm about the suspension. However, this type is used by Lego in large scale F1 cars since 2000 (Silver Champion, 8456). Nothing much has changed since then..
So much better than the real car....and a huge step up from the McLaren. Not flawless, but the one thing I dislike most is seeing stickers with my former employer on it, a company where I worked way longer than I should have...
1:18 huh? Power Steering is crucial in modern F1 cars... Of course they do have Power Steering and to turn the wheel in a modern F1 car can be done easily with one hand.
My mistake. Was thinking current Indycars. Significant physical force required, and unrelated, but 1000% better racing action with passes & everything 😂
I agree! F1 is just a procession to the chequered flag nowadays. I'd add MotoGP to the recommendations for entertaining racing with non-stop action from start to finish!! @@JANGsLEGOreviews
I just finished building this, I am very very happy with this model and seeing the design of the suspension in both push and pull rod setups, it was a very cool build for me
Ive not had a large Technics model since one of the first Technics cars they did in the 80s (8860)... however, I feel with this model... it is now time 😍 Yep, gonna buy! Cheers Jang. Lee UK
Hi Jang, did you used to do reviews on R/C cars? I am getting major flashback and feel like I've heard your voice on toy reviews before. Thanks for the great content, sorry to hear about your channel problems.
For me these are a curious novelty. But as someone who's been inspired by f1 since the mid 90's.. in 2024 i strongly hate mercedes and mclaren (because of their team principals) so palms up, just waiting for literally any other team?
If only they'd do a Red Bull one... Speaking of which, I wonder how many of us fanboys would pull their wallet for a full 20 car grid if Lego made one for each team?

that subtle roast to merc's zero pod concept lol
The funny thing is if this was a red bull vehicle the multi color pins would be essentially invisible. 😅
I have no interest generally in either Technic or Formula 1, but your review is so in depth and passionate that it doesn't matter.
“A fine tuned racing remote control car” Ah the days of UltimateRC
Most excited/satisfied I have seen Jang in a while for a set! Great review. Thank you.

Wow, that looks like a regular model at first glance! I’m impressed!

I didn't believe it was Lego from the thumbnail. Cool set that's for sure.
I love Technic and love your reviews, so I'm glad you sought to review this beautiful piece of art and engineering.

Nice review, JANG. The suspension, steering, and engine in this car are really well done.
I just finished building this, I am very very happy with this model and seeing the design of the suspension in both push and pull rod setups, it was a very cool build for me
I want to put this on the carpet and push it along making vroom noises. Great review Jang!

Happy easter jang 🐣
Thanks for your always very dialectical approach to all the lego products you are reviewing. 👍
Get in there Lewis Miracles do happen m8
I might have seen that number of stickers before, but I'm certain I've never seen that total surface area of stickers...
I like the sound of that one just might wait for the price to soften. Great review Jang as ever.
the first issue is in the first bag as there is a problem with the drive shaft and it is crooked because the gear math was done wrong
Great review, sir
It looks awesome. I’ve the McLaren from a few years ago and this looks a really step forward. Defo on my list and will pick up eventually.
I'm looking forward to grabbing this! I don't care about whether its good or bad, it's mine!!!
Nice review as always...😀
Would have loved to have seen printed wheels
Love it! Needs proper rear tires, just like the Senna McLaren F1
Wait 1:8 scale? so this goes in the same product like as the ferrari, lamborghini, bugatti and porches?

Amazing looking set! I really hope we get a Ferrari!!
Great detailed review. Thanks.
Wow this formula 1 racer is epic quite detailed awesome review jang 👍
Really want a Red Bull now....
Great, I bought a set
TeamViewer? I have not seen that name in awhile. I'm surprised they are still around.

It looks great, but that price is just unreasonable 😔
nice set
Honestly I think I like the more built-up halo from the previous McLaren F1 set
If only they'd do a Red Bull one...
Speaking of which, I wonder how many of us fanboys would pull their wallet for a full 20 car grid if Lego made one for each team?
I'd definitely do that for the Speed Champions sets and considering they just made a Mclaren and are making an Aston Martin too i might just have to
Woow! Just woow! 🫠
I agree with others, it almost didn’t look like an Lego set
You have to have allot of space to collect Technic.
Too bad the number 1 car is sponsored by an energy drink, so probably would never be released.
Never buy qa full black set. it will WILDLY attract dust and fingerprints xD
😊
Someone call a mechanic, someone hit that poor car on the nose... and tell the mechanic to bring some proper rear wheels as well while they're at it.
$220? What a plastic joke.
Just like the real car.
