Don’t think they had a choice really, it would have deflected from the real purpose of the games and for the injured veterans, and being organised well in advance. However, I am very much hoping that he gets asked to step down now, I hope but I have a feeling that they may buy their favours as they’re desperate now to be seen in a good light. My husband is a British Army veteran, having served 22 years, and I am also the daughter of an Army veteran who fought in WW2. I am appalled at the insult to all members of the British Armed Forces that this lying, grasping, self-serving grifter was allowed to give this speech.
Have many relatives who fought and died in WW1 & 2, also one in Aden and Ireland conflicts. I also am appalled that she is there - period - not to mention the speech and whatever else she conjures up in the next 3 days. Regrettably the INVICTUS games, through the blurring of the distinct dividing line between Charitable work and Commercialised Business, has become a Masterclass in why the Royal Family do not get involved with the latter activity. It was either in Figi or Australia in 2018 that 'Harry's wife' learned that members of the Royal Family did not get paid appearance money for visiting venues, shaking hands with presented guests, or keep the formally presented gifts as personal presents. Being fair to Meghan, she doesn't actually know any better. She comes from a culture where grabbing and taking as much as you can throughout life is the norm, be it from friends, work colleagues, collecting husbands or anything else you can exploit for personal gain. That approach to National culture made America extremely wealthy (at least for that very small minority at the top), but in an ever increasingly smaller World, with completely different standards, this approach doesn't "export well" elsewhere. Meghan will fail miserably with time, which is something the Royal Family has plenty of (measured in centuries), hence they don't have to engage with her using her tactics.

They are the only non athletes I've ever heard of who use the media coverage opportunities meant to promote athletes to instead promote themselves. Repeatedly. If you are travelling by a commercial plane you have to be at the airport check in at a specific time and at least an hour before take off. Don’t think they had a choice really, it would have deflected from the real purpose of the games and for the injured veterans, and being organised well in advance. However, I am very much hoping that he gets asked to step down now, I hope but I have a feeling that they may buy their favours as they’re desperate now to be seen in a good light. How rude of her, then, to give a speech anyway, and how amusing that she thinks we would believe that "her children" slowed her down and made her late for the event! Yikes. Whoever writes her scripts for her needs better lines!

My husband is a British Army veteran, having served 22 years, and I am also the daughter of an Army veteran who fought in WW2. I am appalled at the insult to all members of the British Armed Forces that this lying, grasping, self-serving grifter was allowed to give this speech.
Have many relatives who fought and died in WW1 & 2, also one in Aden and Ireland conflicts. I also am appalled that she is there - period - not to mention the speech and whatever else she conjures up in the next 3 days. Its a bleedin disgrace that Invictus is allowing this which shows me that the powers have no respect. OK, so those who do not speak English probably would not get it but that is no excuse. Both H & M should be evicted from the Games for good and another Vet in place who truly knows the need and what they go through.

She (giving a speech) was removed from the programme of the final Ceremony on the last day, but that remains to be seen, as she is a master manipulator of events to her personal advantage. If she makes a formal appearance at the closing ceremony the loser will be them in the long term as Invictus in its present form will not survive.

Regrettably the INVICTUS games, through the blurring of the distinct dividing line between Charitable work and Commercialised Business, has become a Masterclass in why the Royal Family do not get involved with the latter activity. It was either in Figi or Australia in 2018 that 'Harry's wife' learned that members of the Royal Family did not get paid appearance money for visiting venues, shaking hands with presented guests, or keep the formally presented gifts as personal presents.
Being fair to Meghan, she doesn't actually know any better. She comes from a culture where grabbing and taking as much as you can throughout life is the norm, be it from friends, work colleagues, collecting husbands or anything else you can exploit for personal gain. That approach to National culture made America extremely wealthy (at least for that very small minority at the top), but in an ever increasingly smaller World, with completely different standards, this approach doesn't "export well" elsewhere. Meghan will fail miserably with time, which is something the Royal Family has plenty of (measured in centuries), hence they don't have to engage with her using her tactics.

They are the only non athletes I've ever heard of who use the media coverage opportunities meant to promote athletes to instead promote themselves. Repeatedly. If you are travelling by a commercial plane you have to be at the airport check in at a specific time and at least an hour before take off. So is she telling us that she caught a private plane/jet to Germany? That she had the luxury of having the plane/jet on standby on the tarmac ready for when she turns up?
