Personally I haven't seen a lot of them but I do think the Showa Riders have a nice retro charm to em, I'll be it that charm is an acquired taste. I can say completely agree with the sentiments on Ichigo, Black, RX, and ZO. Black is really solid but I wouldn't say it's "the darkest or last good Rider show" or anything, RX feels like a extended toy commercial for Black, Ichigo is really fun in small bytes, and ZO is fucking awesome
Nice to see Showa Riders getting some fan love for once. I see so many modern day toku fans suggest that people skip the Showa shows on the grounds that they're slow, repetitive and too episodic. I personally like a lot of aspects of the Showa riders like the usually cybernetic origins and often, though not always, darker tone. People should approach these shows with an open mind and maybe take their time with them instead of binge watching because they were made to be seen only once a week and not all at once.
You know, I always hear people talk about Ichigo, V3, Strong and Black, but rarely about the other shows! Hearing your thoughts on them honestly made me more interseted in watching them than two years of rider discussion. An amazing video man, and congrats on almost reaching a thuosand subs, too!

Watched Kamen Rider Black as a kid along with other tokusatsu shows in the 90's when they were aired in the Philippines. As always, great content! Keep them coming. 👍
The problem Showa Kamen rider has is, excluding Amazon in powers, they are all the same guy with a different costume, and there are very few differences with their origins and their personalities as people. Like, be honest what's the difference between Hayato and Shiro in character attitude towards their situation.

I'm planning on buying the original Kamen Rider manga coming out in December. Hopefully it will do well enough to convince Seven Seas to bring over Spirits.
Watch some of your videos and I am impressed by your productions. I am also a big fan of Toku and anime-related. I am currently watching Skyrider and it has an identity crisis at the beginning and once the senior Riders returned and gave Skyrider his power-up and guest-starring in various episodes, it was Showa Era fun so far. My thoughts of the Showa Era Riders series: Kamen Rider - I agreed that the first 13 episodes were taking itself too seriously. When Fujioka/Ichigo has his accident and Sasaki replaced him as Nigo, the show has a lighter tone and has fun with their stories. Classic but binge-watching is not recommended and the best episodes when Ichigo and Nigo got their power-up forms, those are the best episodes. V3- Classic with Kazami's actor being Mr Dandy and badass all out. Riderman is a tragic character and he redeems himself that V3 gave him the title of Kamen Rider No.4 to him. X, Amazon and Stronger - Haven't watched it but seen clips of it and so far they are okay. But Stronger is badass when he needs to be. Skyrider- See above. Super 1- The first half was fun and dark with each monster having some form of martial arts but once the first general was defeated, the story shift to regular rider series and the kids are some of the worst supporting cast for this show. ZX- Read Kamen Rider Spirits and Shin Kamen Rider Spirits Manga- ZX is basically OP. Black - Classic (Nuff said) Black RX- It is silly fun and the team up with the previous riders at the finale is a closure to the Showa Era. (Not counting Shin, ZO and J)

It's a shame that so many newer fans outright ignore the showa riders, they're some of the best! Modern rider isn't bad by any means, but it can feel more like a toy commercial at times
Don’t get me wrong, I love the hell out of the original Blade Runner, but that’s my defacto recommend for people who are worried about the movie being too dense or unapproachable.

I love ZO. And it’s awesome it got an American release on Sega CD which is the way I discovered it.
