I would love to build this (except all of the gaps and all and the seem line on the canopy) since I built a 1/72nd Eurofighter with the cool German 2020 Quadriga Markings
I’ve had good results with hataka red line paints thinned with their own acrylic thinner, and a little Vallejo flow improver on a 0.25mm nozzle at around 12-14psi working about as close as you seem to be able to
Your perseverance is well shown with the end result. Very well done! Suggest that you apply a coat of pink to assist in spraying the red. I use Tamiya X17 with excellent results. Subbed.
Regardless of the issues with the model, it turned out real well, how thick was the acrylic rods you used because I would like to try something similar 😊
hello i wanted to know i bought this 1/48 scale red baron version that i am planning on turning into an austrian euro -fighter. and i wanted to know how difficult is it to polish the canopy? as it seems that the manufascturer did a terrible job it molding it. and what types of componds to use? also is there any house hold items that can be used to polish it? if not what type of hobby polisher i can use? thanks Richard
I'd do the following: - Use masking tape so only the seamline itself is showing -Remove the seamline by scraping with your hobby knife -Sand it down working from coarse to fine sandpaper or sanding sponges When it comes to polishing, I use my rotary tool with Tamiya polishing compound. You can also a microfiber cloth. I heard that toothpaste is a good substitute for polishing compound but I never tried that myself. Which decals do you get for your Austrian Eurofighter? Looking forward to see it 😊
@@Starfishscalemodeling hi ,i liked your verion of the austrian euro-fighter so got the same decals you used. but instead of buying them i just took a photo of the decal sheet and printed it out on clear sticker paper looks pretty good. so will use them .Richard
I know that you are supposed to use airbrush and acrylics. But I would say nearly all presentations show high levels of paint splatter, totally the opposite of what it should be, and it seems to be the accepted norm. BUT It needs to be super smooth to stand a chance of scale accuracy. What is the fix? Back to enamels?
Supposed to? Who said that? I'd recommend to try and use different paint manufacturers and also lacquers. I got very good results from MRP and terrible results from Revell Aqua for example.
@@Starfishscalemodeling water based more ethical than white spirit based, so there seems to be an assumption based on observed trend that today, acrylics good, enamel much less good. Wonder how competition winners achieve perfect finish..?
brilliant job Starfish , difficult to finish this kit ! ( I have recommended to my buddies Ted and Nikos who film the Typhoons live action ,on " TED CONINGSBY " channel . have a look if you get chance . ) Blackjack looks wonderful > a masterpiece ! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
This is an awful scale model, you need to work a lot, very bad fitting parts and massive putty required, will never buy this model again, Revell did a horrible work with this Eurofighter, yo did a nice work my friend
The Typhoon turned out very nice 👍
Really impressed with the display base, but the search continues for a decent Typhoon kit in 1/48!
Thanks! True, I don't think that the Italeri kit is much better than this.
die Haltung ist halt tatsächlich das geilste überhaupt. Glaub das wird nie langweilig den anzusehen. Well done!
Danke! Nur rausnehmen werd ich ihn nicht mehr so bald, hab ihn mindestens 5 Mal fallen lassen 😅
The stand has to be my favourite part of this build, it’s simple but looks so great and really compliment’s the typhoon!
Thanks my friend! The stand was pure improvisation 😅 Glad you like it!
Despite the decal issues that turned out awesome! One of my favorite Typhoon schemes.
Thanks a lot Kyle!
As a typhoon fan i appreciated this video. Well done mate and keep going.

Fantastic work. I wouldn't want to have to deal with those decals
Thanks a lot 😊 Luckily I'm kind of used to large and problematic decals...
Looks great !
Thanks a lot Noah!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the heads up on this kit I was thinking of buying it but I will look for another euro fighter kit 👍🏼
Good idea! Unfortunately there are not many other Eurofighter kits.
Stunning build, im just getting back into modelling after a lay off of nearly 10 years
Thank you! I also took a break of almost 15 years and all I can tell you is: go for it! ☺️
Looks fantastic 👏👏
Thanks man! I Iike your name 🤘
I'm going to do this too!! Tks for the tips on decals etc. Great job
Thanks for the feedback Mike! Good luck 😊
Yes it was a terrible fit. So much work, but have followed your video. Actually did my first canopy spline...success!

Thanks a lot Thomas! Yes, I heard about the pink layer method, might give it a try if I ever have to use red again! Thank you for subscribing 😊
PTSD as usual from a Revell kit. Their 1/144 seems to be fine though.14:15
