Sophie saved the young lawyers life,and he in turn used his talents to decipher the plot and assisted her from being accused of a false crime intended to benefit Caleb and his mistress. It was mentioned in the story that Leo slept peacefully near his sister while Sophie was on duty at the night shift. There was no sister indicated especially as mentioned, the mother died and only one son survived. It all ended to the trio’s benefit as they were about to enjoy a small triumph at a nearby restaurant. Thank you

It wouldn't have worked. Heimlich is for objects obstructing the throat. An anaphlactic shock reaction makes the throat swell shut. The storyteller is correct.
