I know this is totally random but I used to always get tonsillitis and narrowed it down to reusing plastic water bottles- the bacteria from saliva must multiply in the plastic/ water. I am ok with stainless steel water bottles as long as I wash them out with hot soapy water daily.
Joe have you thought about cutting them in half. Usually you can cut them where that line is. It may make them easier to swallow. Just read the box and make sure you can cut them.

As a 27 year old I get the whole nostalgia thing I think our age range is so unique like we were the last ppl to have a childhood just before everything changed. It’s a funny in between thing our parents don’t really understand the internet and kids don’t understand what life was like before.
I also tend to be very nostalgic and miss how I was in the past. Trying to be more present but it feels like re-wiring my brain. Apparently mindfulness/ meditation helps with that. Also nostalgia means 'old wound' so maybe its not that good
