    The joking is actually realistic. People who work around death often develop a dark sense of humor (called "gallows humor") in order to cope with all the death and darkness surrounding them every day. It's not about being callous or insensitive towards the victims, but keeping themselves sane

      yes, thats also the same deal with healthcare workers; nurses and doctors. We have some dark sense of humour and laughing is our sense of handling it, ofcourse not infront of patients and ofcourse not disrespecting them.

    They call these type of shows "Procedurals". Every show has crime to be solved AND a little more of the back story. Garcia is insecure about her looks. She has friendly banter with Morgan (the black guy). JJ is nice, Emily is focused, Reid is smart, Morgan is a beefcake (but also smart), Rossi is the old hand (started the BAU) and Hotch is their leader.

      Garcia is not insecure about her looks. She's full of confidence and self-love. She just is realistic. There's an important difference. And the show worked really hard to make sure that Garcia was never portrayed as the butt of the jokes with regard to her physical appearance.

    • @7thlittleleopard7
      @7thlittleleopard7 8 месяцев назад

      The criminality comes in sourcing the meat for it. You're not going to get human meat legally much, so sure, you can EAT the meat, but good fucking luck finding LEGAL sources of it. I think it's legal in case of extreme situations like being lost in the wilds and having to eat a dead body to survive. It'd be a bit of a bitch to survive that kind of situation only to be thrown in jail for cannibalism afterwards.

    • @7thlittleleopard7
      @7thlittleleopard7 8 месяцев назад +5

      @@victoriaharris3113 I figure it's legal in the extreme case of starvation in a wilderness situation. Sure, murder is wrong, but if a plane crashes in the middle of the mountains and there's a bunch of dead bodies, trying to survive until being found would be hard enough without having to worry that if you do get found, you might get thrown in jail for eating your dead fellow passengers.
      Basically, exceptions for extreme situations, I guess.

    i’m new to the show as well and i started with season 15. it was made after the show was cancelled but then got picked up again after a few years. and timeline wise happens post-pandemic. i really enjoyed it and am slowly working my way through the other seasons.

    You should do the episode north mammon. You dont need a lot of lore but man that one stuck with me the way only a criminal minds episode could.

    As someone who works in true crime docs, I don't find it intriguing or fun to watch a lot of true crime in my spare time. What can get me into fictional shows, like Criminal Minds, are the character arcs (hot agents) and drama. I'm a simple gal! lol

    You should give Grimm a look, it is similar to Supernatural but half as long. Some episodes I'd recommend are;
    Season 1 ep 9 Of Mouse and Man
    Season 2 ep 3 Bad Moon Rising-Lucifer from Supernatural plays a character in this episode
    Season 2 ep 19 Endangered-good if you like UFOs
    Season 3 ep 8 Twelve Days of Krampus-christmas episode
    Season 3 ep 14-might have a bit of plot but was the scariest episode in my opinion
    If you are interested in animated shows Archer is a good choice, imagine if James Bond was an office comedy :)

    I am a long time fan of criminal minds. There are only 2 killers that I remember their crimes vividly from the entire series. This is one of them. The rest are fun and interesting but sort of run together in my memory if I’m not actively rewatching episodes. But this guy stands out. Great pick by your sister.

    I think your sister did a bit dirty when she picked this episode as stand-alone one to watch. There are so many better and milder ones to start with that are more stand-alone than this one.
    Can I suspect that there was some sibling thing going on? xD

    As long as you cook the meat- it’s no different from any other meat. If you eat the meat raw or not all the way cooked… there is this enzyme that makes you laugh, trembling hands or lose control of your own limbs, and go crazy. There is this npr article about cannibalism set in Papua New Guinea.
