I had purchased one after watching your first video on it, and love it. I installed it on a 10 foot in the air and maintenance free. it works in the extreme weather of northern Michigan. never failed yet. 😊
I’ve gone through a couple sensor heads in the past four years and WeatherFlow customer service is top notch. They’ve even reached out and sent a unit that has had the circuit boards super-coated to survive salt water! Great company.
My tempest measured 5.34 inches here in Vero Beach yesterday in the tropical weather that hit us. Not much wind at all just a ton of rain. Would of never known about this awesome device if not for your first video a few years back. Keep up the great work YZI !
From the reviews I have seen this seems to be a great WX unit! Only thing I would like to see is a real time desktop display for this instead of having to view data on a phone or computer. I have been using an Acurite 5 in 1 for years. Only drawback to it is having to replace batteries and its vulnerability to hail breaking wind cups.
I'm throwing my Tempest in the garbage after only 3 years, the solar panels no longer charges enough to keep the station operating outside of when the sun is shining.
I live in the Coastal Northeast. Purchased a Tempest years back after your review. I power my cable modem, WiFi router and my Tempest hub with a UPS so I always have data. During a power outage I can check other Tempest locations and see a No Current Data meaning that area has lost power. My number one concern when purchasing was it shutting down after numerous cloudy days in the Winter. Hasn't gone offline yet. The app is a very useful tool. FYI: There are Tempests all around the world.
WeatherFlow Tempest is worst ever weather station garbage I have tested in the last 25 years.Save you money and buy the Ecowitt for probably half the price where one can calibrate or add or subtract daily, monthly and yearly rain data unlike the Tempest garbage where the only option is to delete everything.

You’ll know when a sensor goes bad. The temp is minus 50°f

Is this weather station able to be used with APRS?
Eric, is your Tempest still working? Mine just failed after 3.5 year. Temperature sensor failure.

What type of equipment to you have it mounted on?
I bought the small handheld version you recently reviewed. Thank you for excellent reviews! 73
But if it is in the sun the device will get hot and the air coming through also, I guess.
Hey Eric, can information be read from the hub when the internet is out? Like during severe weather events… 73 de KN4ZBG

nice video on the weather station, thanks for coming by the shop yesterday.
I got one because of your review. Just over 8 inches of rain on Friday & Saturday in S Miami.
Great info on the Tempest weather station. I have a Bloomsky and have to get that running here in SC. Thanks Eric.
I'd love to get one so I could take part in our local weather net..
I love mine just wish it would output to CWOP

Hi Eric. Hope you're all OK.
Yah it was only a rain shower
@@HamRadioConcepts thank god. I'm praying for you all. Stay safe. God bless
Pity its not available in Europe. Mind those power lines, they look very close to your mast.
They are far enough and this is just temporary, although it's been there on that tripod for a year lol
What was the highest wind speed you read during the storm?
I can't remember
@@HamRadioConcepts I was about to ask the same question
How high of a mast is best??
10 feet should work
@@HamRadioConcepts thank you. Great channel. I’m just a GMRS guy.
