Omg same. I feel like it gets wayy to much hate. I mean I did re-read it after a few years and didn't enjoy the writing at all but it has so much nostalgia for me. Will always hold it dear to my heart lol
oooooohhhh you recommended spark of the everflame in one of your videos. well, you said stop reading and pick this up. I certainly did and loved it sooooo much!!! Destroyed all of them within a couple of days haha. thanks!!!
The Legacy of Nine Realms books get sooo much better as they go on. I think if you can push through some of the initial stuff, it begins to have more substance and becomes more enjoyable
I recently picked up Spark of the Everflame and I can’t wait to read it. I would love to see a video where you talk about super underrated books that no one talks about. I also want to recommend a series I think you would love. It’s the Stone Society series by Faith Gibson and they’re all gargoyle shifters. It’s also on KU.
Props to you for posting this video while struggling with your voice. Hope you are feeling better though. I trust your recommendations, more often than not I enjoy them. Thank you ❤
Last year I read the popular Romantacy and between fourth wing and the serpent and the wings of night. I like it better this last, I think carissa broadbent did a perfect job!
You’ve got me adding so many books to my TBR ! 🥰 I’m planning on reading throne of glass and entreat me before diving into some of the other books. I just finished omen of ice, pretty sure it’s YA (not super spicy at all yet but it’s a slow burn) and I loved the story! The ending threw me for a loop and the next book can’t come out fast enough ! 😖
Love this video so much. It’s truly a treasure trove of information. I’m saving this in my playlists for future reference. I’m a big slow burn fantasy romance girlie, so thank you!
Thank you so much for a great overview of this genre. I have not started reading this genre, but it seems like fun reading. You have great energy and animation in the way that you review your books. Great information -- I particularly liked your story about the gas station! You are really fun, great book review hostess!
Thank you for the recommendations. I really like the categories you've chosen. For urban/paranormal fantasy, Nalini Singh and Kresley Cole are some of the queens of the genre. And I second the Ilona Andrews recommendation. Her Edge series is most clearly romance books with each book focusing on one couple. For cozy fantasy, I highly recommend Swordheart by T. Kingfisher. This also counts as a slow burn and mature romance. Grace Draven's Radiance also feels very cozy to me even though it has some grim elements. It's definitely slow burn too. Milla Vane has written really great darker Barbarian romances. And her older pen name Meljean Brooks has some awesome steampunk style romance books.
Thanks for the recommendations. I have one for you, A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. While it is an Urban Fantasy it also has mature characters.
I'm wanting to read more dark fantasy. My favorite so far is Legacy of the Nine realms by Amelia Hutchins if you're curious. It is the definition of enemies to lovers! Such a rollercoaster ride 🖤
My fav finds this year for romantasy so far are the Broken Kingdoms/Ever Seas books. SO GOOD. And War for Lost Hearts by Carissa Broadbent. I also just read A Kiss of Iron and was like mmmm….why isn’t Bastian talked about more!? 😍
Sally Fields’ The Wolf and the Wildflower is a spicy fantasy novel full of angst and older characters. They are in their 30’s. Not much world building but main characters are Fae and Werewolf. There’s separation of worlds by kinds of people and a war happening as this particular story takes place. But, the story focuses on the feelings of these characters and the decisions they have to make about who they love and whether they can love them.
Stephanie Garber gave the biggest L with book 3. She really held her hand out for that cash grab while slapping readers across the face with her other hand. I will never read her again. I have big feelings about ACFTL.
I enjoyed the first book in the Stars and Shadows series, the second was okay too. The third had me really bored and the fourth one is a spin off of other characters- I just couldn’t continue.
Sorry but Spark of the Everflame was Okay at best and Glow of the Everflame was soo bad in my opinion. I read a little into the third book and DNFd it. The main character Diem is so annoying and insufferable it’s ridiculous. I don’t get why literally everyone is raving about this series on RUclips. It’s really not a good series in my opinion. The world building is not good and the characters are just bad. The Lady of Darkness Series is so much better.
Six Scorched Roses was written so well that it didn’t feel like a novella.
Before ACOTAR, Twilight was my very first fantasy romance that got me hooked and into reading!!❤❤❤

The greatest UF series is Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews. Should be on more recommended lists.

Yes! I am on pins and needles waiting for book 6 to drop any day now. I have already read the series twice this year! I can’t get enough of Knox! 🔥
Love Spark and Glow of the Everflame!!! So good!!❤❤❤
I love how you organized this video! Super helpful, thank you so much
Slaying the vampire is such an amazing and beautifully written book

This was a really great video!
Your court of silver flames story made me laugh so much!
I recently found Emily Mcintire. I like her writing style and her take on classic fairy tales has kept my attention.

Still think you may like Jess Wisecup urban fantasy Feathers from the Sky, it was amazing. The mental health rep felt so real (TW)
Legends & Lattes is what got me hooked on Cozy Fantasy books altogether
I added so many of these books to my TBR thank you for your recs! I can't wait to read Six Scorched Roses especially

Well organized list , good job
you will LOVE the crown of oaths and curses.
Describing King of Battle and Blood as "spicy" is like describing an F5 tornado as "windy."
Where do you buy your books from they look nice. Especially with the painted edges. ?
I have a mix of special editions from mystic box, fairyloot, arcane, bookish box & hello lovely!
Great video!!❤
love the shirt!
Make sure you see an ENT for throat. Even though you feel ok there can be other things that’s causing laryngitis
I did! Of course the day I made the appointment my voice came back lmao but they think it was a long Covid symptom
The character from how does it feel sounds like the teacher from Fairy Odd Parents lol
Bless you, that voice is no better. Don't strain it being on RUclips
I notice you have different editions of the books. Could you ple share what edition those beautiful covers are from? Pleeeeeease 🙏🙏
If you like dragons try Dragon School by Sarah K Wilson I loved it alot
Stephanie Garber gave the biggest L with book 3. She really held her hand out for that cash grab while slapping readers across the face with her other hand. I will never read her again. I have big feelings about ACFTL.
can someone please tell me the name of the book on her shelf by right next to her
Soul of Ash & Blood by JLA (bookish box SE)
@@HonestFiction thank you so much also amazing video I can't wait to read them all ❤

Omg! What happened to your voice
It’s back!! Haha, I lost it for a month after having the flu 😅
ACOTAR was a major disappointment and ruined my fantasy wishes after reading the next book in the series…
