Warmhearted interpretation of this Romantic masterpiece full of French elegance with perfect harmonization of all the instruments. The experienced conductor leads the excellent orchestra in the ideal tempo without excessive dynamics. Really beautiful!

just came from it. enjoyed it, but wasn't blown away. so far, getting a better sense of it in this performance. slightly brisker pace helps. seems to be more dynamic range as well. ever heard Ozawa's recording of this on DG?
I find Faure's music enigmatic: exquisite but innocuous; beautiful but boring. In this suite I find only the "Sicilienne" to be really memorable, but the entire work as presented here is only exquisite and beautiful, making me, for its duration, quite unaware of its less attractive qualities.
