    Hey girl, just transfer to the floor. I worked OR for like 2 weeks and was quickly over changing over tables and mopping up bone chips. If you move to like med surg you will be doing vitals, glucose checks etc. The OR is the only department where the pct's are basically janitors.

    Thank you for sharing I started working in the OR room at the end of November 2021 I also had a problem with one of their SNA‘s trying to tell me what I was doing wrong when I was doing it right so I checked her and tell her I’m also in SNA so I told her you do your job and I’ll do mines

    There is no excuse for anyone to put someone down. Just because they are higher up without you they couldn't do there jobs. I'm glad I watched this video. I'm thinking twice now I have a interview coming up for this position. I consider myself a great pct. So are you.

    At my local hospital they have Patient Care Tech 1 and Patient Care Tech 2. For 1 it’s just CNA and for 2 it’s CNA but you also have to be certified in phlebotomy and ekg. They want 2’s to do all the CNA work but also know how to draw blood and run a EKG machine to help out the nurses more.

    • @miachristina
      @miachristina  3 года назад

      Oh woww. Thats cool. At the hospital i worked at we were all the same level but we had to go through the hospital to get certified in phlebotomy

    Girl try getting a transfer to a med surg or medical unit. PCT don’t be mopping no damn floor. If that’s all a PCT can do in the OR then they need to hire Janitors for the OR and not PCT.

    That's everything I do as a house keeper except everyone at my job is down to earth and I just got a job there as a pca they actually tacked care of the residents and no one acts like their better than anyone I know what you mean though about working in the hospital I was a dietary aid in a hospital for 15 yrs and people acted like they were better than us that's why I love where I am now because no one acts like that every one works together to take care of the residents.

      You could use your CNA license to qualify for PCT positions. They're roles are identical but for my current job i only needed my basic life skills certification

    Hate to hear that this is your experience!! Just starting out as a PCT. I really thought that hospital mindset was becoming less prevalent. Hate to hear it’s still alive and well. Do you have any contact with patients? Have you learned anything?

Glad I’ve Atleast got to see and learn somethings. I pray things have improved on your end ❤️. Thank you again for sharing

    Girl that's everywhere in any job . I haven't work at hospital but I volunteer and the doctor aswell as nurses looked down on me . All I wanted was to see if that was the environment I wanted . I did enjoy my time there and I just didnt pay any attention to the rest . But if you hate it just try a different department. I study for medical office but didnt like is boring and same people act they hot sh** . I am looking to switch careers for something more involved with patients not paper work. But like your video, hope it works out for you.

    • @miachristina
      @miachristina  4 года назад +1

      Lol !! , yea .. I know but the only reason that I took the job was to see if the OR environment was for but it’s not. I’m looking elsewhere and in order to switch departments you have to be there for at least a year. Also, thank you and I hope everything works out for you also ☺️💕
