I really appreciate your videos. I am going back to college after 13 years! I have been a stay at home mom and recently decided to go back to finish my degree in education. Hey I made it to the end. been trying to teach myself algebra for the last 3-4 months but I bombed this practice pdf. So having someone go over it & explain is super helpful. gonna take it this week, don't feel great about it but hopefully im just psyching myself out

Hey, Sorry, just a little confused on question 9 where you were moving the numbers to the right and you had put a 2 alone im having trouble undertanding the purpose of it and why you did that, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your helpful videos :)
Thank you for watching my videos! You have some great questions! I hope this answer helps:
When solving an equation the goal is to get one variable or letter equal to a value or number. For example an answer would look like: x = 10. If you look at that answer, the variable is on one side and the number is on the other.
So when solving an equation your goal is to get the variables on one side and the numbers on the other. To move a number from one side to the other you do the opposite. So if the number is -2 like in this case, you would add. If it was a positive 2 and you wanted to move it to the opposite side you would subtract.

In question 9, my brain automatically tells me to subtract 5c from 3c first to isolate instead of move -2 to the other side of the equation to make a +2. Is it wrong to do it that way and make -2c or does the answer end up the same? I got stuck doin both ways!
Do it how your brain works! But it is more complicated when you end up with a negative number next to the variable. I moved the two first because I knew this method would leave me with positive numbers and it's easier to work with that way!

The question with the bar graph. Where did you get the 5 from? Is it because of the 1/5? So if it said 1/6 will we have to divide by 6?
Yes it’s because it’s 1/5 for example if it was increased by 1/6 she would use 1/6 another example if it increased by 1/8 she would use 1/8
Please tell me theirs another way around this?

cant you just reverse engineer the how many pizzas and soups questions? like plug in a answer to the equation and see if it works

Im sorry, im doing the accuplacer TSIA 2 MATHETMATICS and i dont understand this question: reyna has 5 coins worth 10 cents each and 4 coins worth 25 cents each. if she choose two of these coons at random, what is the probability that the two coins together will be worth at least 35 cents? its the number 16 on the list if you could explain to me that would be great!
