    Great tutorial! However, I have one minor concern. Doesn't zooey usually have face frames? two small pieces of hair longer than her bangs on each side of her face, usually down to her cheek. I'm asking because in my experience, this is usually where hair dressers mess up

    • @EloraLiveZ
      @EloraLiveZ 8 лет назад +29

      ellyze francisco yeah, thats exactly where hair dressers mess up. The first thing he did was where he got it wrong, he cut the entire thing straight and that immediately messes it up because you need to leave out two outside pieces and angle them down and way longer than the middle. It has taken me 5 years to realize that this is why hair stylists have been messing up my bangs every single year that I have tried to get them done right. You wouldn't imagine the silly things that have been done to me and all this time I could have done this at home right myself. I even show them pictures and tell them I want the sides framed down and they are still clueless because ultimately they really just want to do what they want and what they think is right on your hair, its strange

      If you pull it all to the center, lined up with the nose, it will give you an automatic bevel (the sides are longer than the center). If you twist before cutting you can get even more.. half twist to a full twist just depending on how much you want. Always cut long, they will bump up especially if you put a bend in them. I cut mine using my fingers as a guide.. the fingers sit in the bridge of the nose (where your glasses would sit) and I cut outside the fingers. They wind up right below my brows. I would also recommend cutting dry to avoid shrinkage.

    I've been doing the twist & cut way for a while, but I like this so much better on me. Especially lifting the hair up and cutting the weight off. I think that made a huge difference! Really like them.

    Oh my god thank you soooo much! I've always cut my bangs myself but it was always side swept, and never blunt bangs like this, as i was afraid of ruining it. I went to the salon and they made a mess :( one side is shorter than the other and it's really weird. Definitely will use your tutorial to fix it once they grow a bit! You're the best! Keep up the great work!

    I thoroughly enjoyed your video and wished more stylists could do this cut. I went in for a cut, had pictures of Zooey to show my stylist and asked to have 'her look'. I got thin bangs and they almost look uneven. I'm thinking next time I go, I should ask for the stylist to watch your tutorial!! Is that asking to much?! Is that rude to ask so that I make sure I'm getting the cut I want? I feel I should go back and have them fix it for free but I feel bad doing that.

    Great video! I cut my own fringe in recently using your tutorials, thank you! I currently have quite wispy bangs and am nervous about taking the triangle section too far back on my head - where is safe to go to? I'm not sure where the 'high point' is due to my rounder head shape!
    Also, could you advise on whether a blunt cut, heavier bangs or more wispy bangs is better for a round-ish face? I already have them in a curved shape which seems to look good...

    I thought that when cutting bangs, it's a huge no to just cut staight across. You have to cut them in an arch shape so it looks natural and gives more volume...

      Aubrey Foster -- I follow the shape of my eyebrows and cut bangs right below the brows. Then I let them grow to about right above lash level and trim again. I don't like mine above my brows, although I have cut them that short by accident a few times. Now I always start long and slowly work them to where I like them best.

    I think the thinning depends on how thick the client's hair is. For instance, mine is very fine and thin, so I barely need any thinning.

    I am curious, why not just make a smaller/shorter triangle of hair to cut rather than thin out the thickness (after the fact).

      vanessa guzman This will work for any hair type, just as long as you bring the bangs from pretty far back to increase the thickness of them.

      I saw on another video if you hold the scissors vertically and point cut, that works like thinning shears. the longer you put the scissors up, the thinner you can get.
