Hey guys, I re-edited parts of this video to make it flow more smoothly, the original version of this was posted about a month ago but after watching it I felt it needed a bit of trimming: I took the original one down, hope you enjoy this one - thanks as always for your support everyone

Don’t know if you’ve hit it in other videos, but early 80s Portland punk bands were a huge influence on Kurt. Especially The Wipers. Kurt called Wipers frontman Greg Sage the “godfather of grunge” and said we invented grunge in Portland in the early 80s. So there, Seattle! I say we because I had a small part in that scene. Guy I’ve played in bands with for 30 years, Derby, did posters for Wipers, and Greg recorded part of Derby’s early 80s band, SLA. (Derby knew Courtney too, didn’t like her much.) Kurt used to hang around Club Satyricon, and Nirvana played the 1991 New Years show, just before they broke big. I’ve played there too. Know people who were on the same bill with Nirvana, even had Nirvana open for them when they were coming up. We all thought it was amazing when one of our own became the icon of the early 90s rock breakout. Kurt was the last of the great rebel rockers. No one like him since. And I love it when you quote his note about playing guitar like a chainsaw. Yeah, he played the axe like a Stihl. Aberdeen was some inspiration. p.s. Another town that was huge in Kurt’s life was Olympia. You should check that out sometime,
This is the perfect channel for Nirvana fans! 😀
I did a pilgrimage to Aberdeen, WA back in '07. I visited the bridge and Kurt's house but I only had a few hours between buses.
Aberdeen always looks like a ghost town in all the videos.
Right you are. No people to see. As if nobody lives there. It gives a really weird feeling.
Like he mentioned in the video, the population started to fall off after Kurt Cobain was born, specifically because of the Timber economy slowly fading away.
NICE 2 SEE KURT'S CHILDHOOD HOME, THEY PUT UP A FENCE AROUND THE WHOLE HOUSE SINCE I LAST SAW IT.
GUESS THE OWNERS WERE TIRED OF PEOPLE TAKING MOMENTOES FROM THE PROPERTY/HOUSE!!
R.I.P. 😇KURT😇 4 EVER IN OUR❤HEARTS..
Why are you talking in caps
Really appreciate you doing shit like this for us nirvana nerds
I know there is nothing to do in Aberdeen, but the place is beautiful.
Did you purposely chose the verbal contraction for "it is" instead of "there is" or is that how you learned to speak?

KURT COBAIN!
Found out recently Kurt wasn’t the first rock star to come from Aberdeen. Patrick Simmons of The Doobie Brothers came from there as well. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Simmons
There's only one problem with this video, these recordings have surfaced, I can hear the lyrics and spoons in my head.
Fascinating to see this. As someone who lives in Dublin, on the other side of the world, it’s great to see his house, its location (beautiful, interestingly enough) and where the bridge is in relation to it.
I love your spirit bro. Keep it up
This is a great channel, I appreciate the effort you put into each video
Such great videos Daniel. I grew up obsessed with Nirvana and everything Kurt your videos touch on so many important aspects, you really know what to cover. I'm from Australia I travelled to the USA in 2007 hoping to get to Aberdeen but only made it as far as Kurt's house in Seattle. Love your videos man keep up the great work.
Daniel your should made a video of the very first Nirvana drummer Gregg Hokanson i think he still lives in Aberdeen.
Good video
Hi, Daniel! Thanks for the video. I haven't watched the first version of it. This one is great. The town itself gives a weird feeling. As if nobody lives there. And the one- storied houses remind me of some parts of the nearest town from the place where I live in Belarus. It was first mentioned in chronicles in 862 and called Polotsk. There are some old houses, too. And there was a heavy battle with Napoleon. Sorry if my ideas are difficult to understand. Such videos as yours let me learn more about life in other countries. I don't even know what is more interesting- what you say or what you show. And I have realised that it's difficult to define what season it is, autumn or spring. The sky is grey or foggy. So I'd like to ask you about your town in Canada. Is it the same about weather there?
hey nic video ive been watching for a long ime and always love your content, giving interviews and deep knowledge thats not so mainstream. But im commenting to tell you that your videos dont always show up in my subscriptions and i was even unsebcried from your channel ,just making you aware of these things, keep up the great content
Bro I went there, the house was for sale like 5-6 years ago.
Good thing nobody has stolen his air guitar lol
Lol fog hat. Makes sense it’s the foggiest looking town ever. It would be so depressing to live there. It’s got a unique vibe
Right you are. You start feeling lonely and lost. As if in a house where nobody lives at the moment.
"Burgeoning" is pronounced "burr-sjon-ing" not "burg-O-ning." 🤦♂️
Do you know anything about Nirvana taking part to the investigation murder case of Mia Zapata?
According to a book by Kerry Borzillo or Everett True they took part in a show the goal of which was to get money for the investigation of the case.
