This is a weird coincidence - story number 3 about the Japanese POW building the railroad, my great grandfather was a Japanese POW and worked on that railroad and survived only to pass away 10 years after the war ended in 1955. Today is the anniversary of his death. Great video as always!
If you think that the Nigerian house of horrors or the killing of 2 women and the corruption of the police involved are "happy places" then I would suggest you might need some kind of help!!
My poor uncle John was a prisoner of war in Burma, the stories he told were unbelievable, how he survived was a miracle.. Obviously he wasn't the same when he came back... It was tragic😭 he died a couple of years later.. Riddled with cancer.. It's heart breaking to think that if you did survive the disgusting ordeal, you really wouldn't ever be able to live a normal life ever again. My poor mum was heartbroken for a long time seeing her poor brother the way he was.. It haunted her till her death.
Have y’all heard the story Mr Ballen told about the prisoners of war in Japan? How they cannibalized their prisoners to “consume their life forces” etc? The ending did actually have a twist I never saw coming. It’s called This Island Kept a Dark Secret Until 2004. I think it’s his best narration. Maybe y’all might find it too close to home tho so idk… It's just a fascinating part of our history I never even knew about. The ending lightens the mood tremendously.
@@robinmcinarnaysimoneau7802 that mr ballen story was intense and shocking. Its about, "unit 731". Going into the history of unit 731 is so crazy that you almost have to detach yourself from reality a bit. I wish let's read and mrballen would do a collab.
I honestly think the rest of the cops in that chat group should have also been investigated and possibly dismissed from duty. Those two that took selfies with the bodies are sick people and hopefully never even get work as security guards ever. Thanks for the vid Lets Read!
It said on the video that one resigned straight away and the other was fired - and both were sentenced to 3 years. And being police or ex-police they won't be having an easy ride in prison.
They got three years in prison which is more than most r* pists get over there… People seem to think that crime that causes physical harm to people is less important than being insensitive. I don’t think I should have to explain that I find what they did to be completely tasteless but the fact that people are making a bigger deal out of it than the actual murder completely blows my mind.
@@sabrinatscha2554 I don't think anybody is making more of it than the murder at all. It's just that it's an important issue too. The actual murder is discussed elsewhere. I think you'll also find that the disrespect shown to the sisters by these policeman has been incredibly distressing for the family and it is therefore important that it has been taken further. These police opened up investigations into the Metropolitan police that show there is systemic misogyny, racism and general discrimination. I've been watching these type videos on RUclips for years. This is the first time I've heard someone cover Krista Pike. BTW, my aunt was Krista's prison guard for awhile.
I’ve heard it covered a few times but this was by far the best. Only thing….the murder didn’t take place at Tyson. It was close to it (a few miles) but not at Tyson. The Job Corp building and Tyson are a rather long walk….
no one narrates like you joel. i LOVE watching your videos to help me fall asleep and get scared at the same time. i love the selection of stories you use!!
The two ladies murdered in the park in London are my friends relatives. Absolutely tragic and evil attack but a sick individual. Then the police degraded the women and took picture of the dead bodies and sent the to others in a what’s app group. The justice system is a disgrace for this. The poor family have suffered so much and then they do this!! Shame on them. Thank you let’s read for highlighting what the police did! I hope the murder gets what he deserves.
What kills me, is the fact that they made the family wait for an extra 12 hours. I'm not sure if it's just me, but why is it when it comes to certain people it's a waiting game? The moment that call was made the whole police force along with volunteers would have been out there.
There’s news articles all over the internet. It was BBC news headline. Despite what the police did, the family remained dignified in news stories. Shocking and disgusting. Those poor women, they’re poor families. I hope everyone involved get what they deserve.
I bet not as many people are interested in the creepypasta or scary story narrations community as they used to be. Its just not as much of a hit any more like it was in 2016 but I still love it. My favorite let's read!
