I got 4 black rock hens that are 5 months old now.I have a blue ameraucana 3 week old chick. She is much more intelligent than the black rocks were.Very affectionate bird.Follows me around like a puppy and hangs on my shoulder like a parrot.
I love beards too lol We have two lighter blue and three almost black ones The lighter ones still have some yellow :) One black one has really red highlights
Blue is an incomplete dominant gene. Not recessive at all. A bird is either blue or it isn't. There is no carrying off the blue gene. Lavender is recessive (technically called self blue- yes I know it's confusing). Chocolate is recessive. White can be both dominate and recessive, two separate genes for a white bird. Anyways just wanted to clear that up
Hello Sir, I am planning to get blue ameraucana next week. Do you have photos of it when it was still day old or week old? And what is the difference between lavender and blue ameraucana or does those 2 are the same?
Yes Mcmurray does sell out. If so, try Myers hatchery. They tend to offer later, and later ship dates all throughout the year… rather that just saying “sold out”, you can pick a breed then look at availability date, and actually pick the week you want them delivered. And they might not be available for half a year, but eventually as you scroll down the calendar you’ll see a week that still has some available to reserve. Feed stores often have Americauna chicks every few months around my home town. They’re a pretty popular breed these days.
I own blue ameraucanas they’re lovely and very friendly

Very nice birds!! Wonder if they could handle the cold well in Northern AZ...Looks like they can tolerate our heat! Thanks for sharing! 😊
I have two that look like each one of these but they are laying brown eggs!
Thanks for sharing

We hatched a gray chick recently....we think she's a blue aumericana.... we'll find out soon enough lol
I'm starting to breed next season. You have so many breeds! How do you do it?
No idea... We're making it up as we go!

We've got videos on our channel all along their journey so you can see them at 1 or two weeks. A lavender is a really soft blue in my experience.
@@HansephCo Thank you Sir! Big help :)
Hello sir , any chance you know where these birds can be purchased or are a seller , please let me know !
