I think in addition to your fixes I would pay closer attention to the way the hand kinda bends strangely below the wrist, making it look a little broken and like it doesn't being to the character
@@moonsigil my guy, kooleen didn't invent this type of art style. just because she's popular doesn't mean everyone with a similar style is purposefully imitating her, that's plain bias. whenever you look at someone's art and think "wow, that's such a unique style", i can guarantee you that at least one other person on the planet has a similar one, intentional or not, and that's NORMAL. as diverse as art can be, the possibilities aren't literally endless, and there's bound to be overlap, especially with more "grounded" art styles like this. yes, there are people who try to imitate what they've seen others do on purpose, some with malicious intent. does that make mindlessly accusing someone of being a "clone" okay? no, that just makes you sound like a jerk.
The thing is he said the thumb only has two segments.... It has three and when bent it DOES have 'belly fat'. He legit just made it worse anatomically 🤣
@@rabbitguts2518 Right, first time I've really disagreed with him. When looking at my own thing the skin definitely bunches up when the the joint is bent. Maybe not as pronounced as the original... but also certainly not straight.
My only other thing i would change would be making the hand bigger. Irl your hand (when fully outstretched) should be able to cover your face. The example shown might have been a stylistic choice though since anime characters typically have big heads compared to the rest of their bodies
@@raline46 Not necessarily alot of anime characters are drawn with unrealistic sized feet and hands. Best example I think is sailor moon. @@Sleeplittlesheeps22 that's true and untrue some people have small hands and it won't fix with a realistic style but better shading and realistic anatomy helps so the bone structure works
I also think it’s important to think about the anatomy of the arm that’s off screen. This pose seems a little stiff because the arm is coming straight up from the bottom of the drawing. Which isn’t possible for the arm.
It's definitely looking better, but the forearm isn't looking like it's going towards the elbow, it just looks like a separate limb. So maybe flip it a little to the left. But overall awesome
The only thing I noticed is the blue lighting on the iris. The iris would've caught on the other side because, correct me if I'm wrong, it has an inward cone-like shape so it would've been obstructed by the eye whites. :D
@@mittskks the wrist is EXTREMELY small, generally your wrist is half of how wide your neck is, plus nobody would be able to hold their arm like that without pain, also the problem with the hand is that it's super thin, a hand is supposed to be as wide as half your face (exactly why you're able to cover your face completely with two palms)
I'm actually learning more from you than the ones who just keep drawing and expect you to understand it at the end. Cutting them in parts is actually helping me see the picture better
For me, one more thing to fix would be to make the shoulders a tiny bit wider. To me, it looks slightly out of proportion. But that could be a style choice since anime isn’t always in proportion
It's true but it seems that the artist just couldn't draw hands well. Angel still gave a good advice so the original artist would be mor aware of this moving forward
i think you made it more 3D than the initial style of the artist and the lights are really cool, but i don't think they match the drawing's vibe, but what you did with the hand made the drawing perfect!!
I think the initial art already looked 3D but softer because of less saturation and all Angel did was show how more adjustment to color choices can highlight the 3Dness of the drawing.
Love showing how to make the drawing pop more while maintaining the original artists vision n style. Very nice. Shows how great they are, just need a little further

At first I was like, “there’s no way he can improve it”, but then at the end I was like “HOLY SHIT, he was actually able to improve it” great work as always ❤
One note about fingers is they can be thicker in the middle joint than they are at the base especially if youre a skinnier person since the joints are wider than the bone is It's not a big difference, but you'll definitely experience it if you wear a lot of rings
Wow hes really good! He really teaches well and is very knowledgeable about light sources and anatomy, while still keeping the art style and main idea of the drawing intact
You made me say wow out loud. This just goes to show how important proper lighting is. I bet that if you fixed only the lighting, the drawing would've been so good that the mistakes would've been pretty much unnoticeable to the untrained eye. You did more than just improve it, you changed this drawing into something that looks professional af. Props to the original artist tho, keep improving, you have a lot of talent :)
Verrry gooooood. Although I don't know why, but always when I try to draw those finger sections they end up looking like wierd worms or twigs with beelies 😭

@@Tomioka_Giyuu_ fr, there's no way to get that pose with a straight wrist
Agreed! The scaling of it is off, as well as the positioning - I think you'd need a 3-segmented arm or a hyper mobile wrist to get in this position.
That face is absolutely beautiful, they have a beautiful art style
it's a kooleen clone. very common
