  • In this video we hike to Timber Lake at 11,090 feet. Started out at 9,000 feet at the trail head and quickly gained elevation in the first 2 miles. This hike consisted of 2,000 feet of elevation putting us to the top at 11,040 feet. There was a bunch of wildlife along the trail along with a few creek crossings and natural springs. We came across the active landslide that happened not to long ago. Thankfully there is still a passage way through. After some agonizing uphills we made it to Timber Lake!! We only had a short time to fish the lake before some afternoon storms came in. Carly of course had the most fish once we ended the day.
    About us:
We are a young couple living out of our SMALL truck camper. We have been on the road approximately 2 months now and absolutely love it! We love sharing every experience we get on the road.

Great (hard) trip. How far did you have to hike to get to good access to Timber Creek? I much prefer small stream fishing to alpine lake fishing. Thanks, Gary R, USAF-Retired
