.I just found it and love this channel from our beautiful Açores.Did you show S. Miguel too.Im from there and Every year in Summer I spend some months there I love it. Great job
20:13 reminded me of Recife, Brasil, where I was born. The "bonecos," as they call it in Brazil (I keep saying THEY as if i wasn't Brazilian... hahaha... It's because I've been living in the US for 25 years) were brought to Brazil by the Portuguese. You can search "CARNAVAL 2020 - DESFILE DE BONECOS GIGANTES - RUA DO BOM JESUS - RECIFE." Anyways, I've been to Portugal 6 times and it's incredible how much this tiny country had such a strong influence, not only in Brazil but in the entire world.
Yes there is definitely some similarities I watched this video the other day that showed all the places Portugal colonized I was shocked ❤️ 6 times wow have you ever thought about moving out here
@@newlifeazores1326 Yeah, 6 times because my brother lives in Lisbon with his wife and two kiddos. I was just in Lisbon this past December. However, I have never been to the Azores. Every time we go to Portugal we make plans to visit the Azores and, for whatever reason, something happens and we can’t go. I’m looking for places to semi-retire in the future, as I don’t see myself living here in the U.S. all my life. The Azores had always been high on my list together with Spain and somewhere in the south of France 😊. Unfortunately, it will take a few years until I can move there. I’m starting medical school next year and my plan is to work as a telehealth psychiatrist while living abroad. That’s my ultimate goal. Still, I can’t stop watching your videos and other channels showing this beautiful place, which is also the land of my ancestors. I have around 100 third cousins currently living in the Azores. Both my parents got ancestors there.
Hello friend! thanks for showing all the natural beauty of Terceira I'm sure your friend got in love with the place and hospitality with people she met and of course the food. I wish you guys a wonderful day keep exploring the land because it is so much to see and enjoy.
I was born and raised in that beautiful island. My parents still have a house there I use swim in silveira all the time it was a 2 minute walk from our house. I miss it
That looks like the old hotel in Seretta. it was there in ‘78 thru ‘80…..the rumor was that it was built for a US president who came to visit, but it was ruins when we were there. Awesome to see! I wondered if it was still there.
The hotel wasn’t necessarily built for the presidents visit but many improvements were done during that time. Definitely sad to see it in ruins but at the same time, it’s a pretty cool spot. I could definitely see it being a nightclub maybe a hookah lounge
Great video. Thank you for sharing. I just didn't understand why the guy on 18:45 asked "O quê que a senhora tá filmando?" "What are you filming?" It sounded a bit rude the way he said it in Portuguese.
@@newlifeazores1326 well, we are renting a car, but tours and at least information in English would be very appreciated! I feel a lot better about visiting just knowing you are there!
@@newlifeazores1326 I thought I already replied but now I don’t see it…..maybe I did it wrong🤔 Anyways, we are renting a car, but I would love to at get information from you ( it’s a comfort to know someone who speaks English) and tour places too if it works out….i don’t think I would have come if I had not heard of your channel. You maybe can help me figure out where to buy some groceries and what restaurants are good. I wanna get eggs and stuff to cook at Airbnb because I’m on a fairly strict carnivore type diet, but I might CHEAT AND HAVE SOME PORTUGUESE BREAD! lol, one of my best memories of the island was the bread.
@@newlifeazores1326 and we would buy eggs from you if you have any at the time. My husband’s mom always had chickens there but I was scared of the chickens and stayed out of the chicken yard….
