Hi, like your content, in that, you sampled the accomodation n gave your feedback regarding the functionalties of living in a small space - would like to ask, from the perspective of a person wanting to live in such an abode long term - noticed that you prepared n fried fish in the kitchen - since it is a small space - taking into consideration, say; a rainy day n you have to close the house up while cooking n eat inside - am interested in the aftermath of the cooking smells of the fish permeating the home - what is your take on this?

They have two cooling systems, a portable one that acts like a fan. You place an ice block and the propelled air cools immediately. Each room has an extractor fan placed on the windows as well. They have maximized on cross ventilation as well. The house doesn't need any heating and so they haven't added any support. The insulation between the walls is sufficient

Hi, I wanted to ask the same question. I did some research a couple of years ago and there was a company advertising container homes starting at $8500. The prices must surely be higher now with the economic situation (and deval of the shilling, .... or maybe... you get more for the dollar if you have dollars to start with. We were budgeting $12,500 for a plot and container home combined (ksh 1.25mil), depending on where you buy the plot. Plots in reasonable places go from $4000 - S10,000. And in some places this amount will get you an acre instead of a plot (sh400,000 - I million) then tack on the price of the container home (dont know what a single container costs these days.
Check out this home that an American woman built in Ghana for 60-70 thousand dollars (6million shillings). She however got the land for free (Ghanaian president was gifting plots to African Americans wishing to relocate to Ghana).- theres a process so its not everyone!
