@@BarSoapGuy his Lifebuoy soap was of the original carbolic variety. The closest soap to original Lifebuoy is "Island Pride" Carbolic Soap...from Indonesia. Carbolic soap was the original antibacterial soap. I hope barsoapguy will review it.
Wow didn’t know it had been around that long . Was probably a better product in that time period , certainly the competition in terms of bar soaps likely not as fierce as today .
Yep, I remember this soap and I hated it. I still remember the day my mom brought that stuff home and put it in the bathroom. Let's just say that it had help melting away. It could cost $.50 and I still wouldn't buy it. Thanks for another great review.
You better believe it and this year I'll be including body washes as well . That last week of the month is always the hardest as I sit there and try to decide/remember which were the absolute best products of the year .
Lifebuoy soap shows up every year around the holidays. Kind of surprised that the "BarSoap Guy" didn't catch why. Here: ruclips.net/video/4KjxFDGFKhk/видео.html
If you can find it, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on Dr. McPhee's Holiday Eggnog Bar Soap. I got it as part of a gift (just a tiny 2.3oz bar that comes in an Altoids-like tin container). I'm guessing that it's mostly a gimmick and that it's terrible for showering with, but I think it would make for an interesting review. I haven't brought myself to actually use it yet. EDIT: Also, another great review. I'll be sure to avoid Lifebuoy lol
hello, it's pronounced " life·boy " a lifebuoy is a thing you see on boats, and seaside railings, that you use to save people from drowing, it's a floating ring, which you put under your arms, to keep you afloat, they used the word buoy, for the same reason, it kills germs,, the smell is " carbolic acid " first made in England in 1894,
i liked original Lifebouy..the aroma was unique...todays recipes either overdo the aroma or dont do it much at all. this is one soap i had to special order because it wasnt in any stores.the aroma was overwhelimigly chemical and i sent the remaining bars back .as George Harrison once said-- all things must pass.
Yeah, what others have said. This is an old brand that's basically just riding on the remnants of its 1960s-1970s name recognition. Who knows how much it has in common with the original formula? Probably nothing. Whoever owns the brand name probably just farms out manufacturing to the Cheap-Ass Soap Works of Indonesia, and as long as it doesn't actually peel your skin off, anything they can produce and put a wrapper on is fine.
My mom's go to soap for the entire family for years. She wouldn't buy any other soaps. Just this one. Hated bar soaps because of this. Your channel made me love bar soaps again.
I have some of this in my... hoard... that I'm not looking forward to trying. Smells like weird fake cherry to me, and I hate the look of those strange dimples on the bottom of the bar.
if you go to my home page you'll see a playlist called (best soaps of the year ) . each yeah I choose my five favorite products ...I review so many new things that I can't ever have just ONE favorite.
the old lifebou is the greatest soap ever period . lifebou white also ok i prefer indonasian lifebou it still has great scent sweet kidna unexplainable . could any 1 explain what this lifebou smell like lol

i liked this soap back in the day.. but now its another example of a well known brand name being used to sell an inferior cheapo product....and theres no way i will use a soap from indonesia ...
Where !?!? JK ...I might try it before the end of this year ....or not ..I have a structured workflow that I use for most of my products . I try to shoot the soaps before opening them for my instgram channel.
No wonder lifebuoy was Ralphie's least favorite soap in a Christmas story XD!
Now I'm gonna have to go back and re-watch the Christmas story!

That kid is saying, "this abnormally big soap bar saved my family from fire breathing sharks, thanks lifebuoy! "

This was an American brand. I used it back in the 40’s / 50’s
I am 77 and used this soap back in the 1940’s,. Don’t think it was made outside the USA

I loved the way it smelled years ago
If you want to get rid of any of your bar soaps, let me know! I'll take them!
I bought one from India it smells good. It may be different and it’s 4.25 oz
Which is your absolute favourite bar soap ? (from a perfume point of view).
The classic mint was the good one from back in the day
lots of older trusted brand names have been bought by modern day hucksters who crank out inferior products using the trusted brand names.

I won't lie, it pisses me off when they change the products because you KNOW they've just found a way to go a little bit cheaper .

Yeah they'e got a lot of weird varietes but sometimes you can find a few gems .
TJ Maxx? Try "A La Maison" love those bars.
It’s pronounced lifeboy

They don't sell it in most stores here , however I did just get my hands on some of their body wash
Alot of people eat this soap
This product has been banned in the US!
