That was outstanding! Thanks so much. And don't sweat jealousy and envious posts below, that is rampant these days. They can not control it because they are sick. So carry on, from this US Marine.
Amazing review guys!!!! I live in Reno as well and was stoked to here you guys fly around Tahoe like me. I’m a aspiring UAV pilot with a bunch of DJI consumer drone but am looking to build a somewhat heavy lifter and all the info online is a bit confusing and I would love to check out some of your equipment. I know you guys are crazy busy and pros but if you ever had time for a spectator and maybe some Q&A I would be forever grateful. Great video and keep up the good work.
how can you see what you are recording and what is the distance you can fly while seeing with the camera view? are you using a camera and using the wifi with the camera connect app is is it a different way?
I need to see a test video flying it using 5 arms. For us, safety comes first then how far we can tune settings using a app. Also, synapse FC do not have any redundancy, at least not mentioned anywhere. I like the folding frame of the Alta and its overall design and top mounted gimbal feature, that is it.
+SkyHighMedia Freefly have said consistently that Synapse isn't going to be marketed as a standalone flight control system. Part of what makes the ALTA perform as well as it does is that the pieces are all built to work together. Not sure that'd be the case if it's left up to independent folks.
+SkyHighMedia Have you noticed flex in the ALTA frame? I haven't seen any in mine. The way the vibration isolation system is engineered with the batteries and the MōVI floating separate from the frame is a real game changer. Nobody else does anything like that.
+Steve Maller I gave the booms a little nudging while at NAB it didn't seem very stiff to me but after seeing how much the frame shook and vibrated in that clip FF posted I was quite impressed with the Synapse at that point.
+SkyHighMedia The units they were showing at NAB were all prototypes. I can assure you the shipping ALTAs have a very solid feel to them. I've had mine in and out of its Pelican case dozens of times on close to a hundred flights so far, and it's super solid.
this can lift 18 kg right? what if you have 12kg battery 1kg for camera , sensors and 5kg for pizza and beer? can you try please? i want some numbers, range, altitude and speed
Does Freefly provide any customer support? I don't see any "Contact Us" page on their website, and have some questions that I'd like to ask them about flight controller, mission planning, etc.
hello there, we currently own a few high performance heavy lifters (mostly from DJI) in addition to our phantom lineup and we have always paid outright for the systems, but considering the price point on the ALTA, would you advice buying it outright or take advantage of the financing options made available to our organization. Thanks in advance for the reply.
John Wood That is actually not true. 10dB is perceived as either twice or half as loud, depending on what direction you're going. 3dB is when the average person will start to hear a change in volume. So in practicality, 3dB is basically nothing. I studied audio engineering in college, but I'm a new drone owner so that's why I'm watching this video. Hope I helped!
hi thanks for review. my opinion is, that this alta 6 is little bit better than my cinestar 8 from year 2013. if you compare it to any other solution on the market, freefly is little bit behind and not so good. and that price is totaly sad.
Please don't take this the wrong way, strictly constructive criticism. When making videos try not to say "um" so much. It's a filler word, as in "basically and like". Watch it yourself and see just how many times you say it while explaining the specs of the drone. Other then they its a great video.
And what about the inside dusky footage? That indistinguishable black drone with a black T-shirt as background, under an ugly low light in an ugly room, for all that time?

Outstanding Footage, Great review. I used to live in that area South Lake Tahoe. But live in Hawai'i now. Keep up the good work man :)

3:54 does the Horizon seem out of balance after this tilt/pan/dolly ?
Do you have any experience with a DJI M600 Pro?
Great review Trent! Has there been any talk of Synapse becoming a stand-alone?
+SkyHighMedia Freefly have said consistently that Synapse isn't going to be marketed as a standalone flight control system. Part of what makes the ALTA perform as well as it does is that the pieces are all built to work together. Not sure that'd be the case if it's left up to independent folks.
+Steve Maller That's too bad...Would love to see how it works on a frame that is rigid with no flex.

I noticed you don't have the Wedge or any fiz motors. are you not finding a need for them?

Nice review, thank you!
How much time Alta can fly with movi m15 and red epic?
You could have bough 13 mavic dji for this price. Worth it?
Who did you go through to get the package?
+Joe Keeney check out www.Quadrocopter.com! They have the best customer service in the entire UAS industry!
you do understand that +3db sounds twice as loud?? So if it is 3db less it is half the perceived loudness.

Alta 6?
Great review!

8-10 min. flight time is terrible for this expense, no?
Thank You!

+Art L.A. Thats awesome, we should race our Teros and Altas see who wins :)
Bro it’s so expensive how?
8 minutes flight time for £17,000 priced drone...
Hassan Shaikh it's overpriced as fuck.
this was 2015 . nowadays , you can get a similar effect with a mavic 2
Camaro Or Alta 8 ?
That is Awesome it’s seems like flying giant spider

amazing too bad it starts at 11,900 :( soon
basically you'll be able to fly for 8 minutes all day long... bruh xD
The only advantage it has is top mount.. the rest is not worth a price especially 8 min flight time.. are u shitting me? lol

I would agree. I could only take about 3 minutes of his talking before I finally said, "Enough! I can't take it anymore!!!"
ummm...wtf lady?
Ummmm ...why not
