The sound of this great 5-cylinderengine with its 400hp is awesome!! The interior and exterior of the new TT is also great and the TT is one of the best Coupes you can get right now I really look forward to the other upcoming RS-models (RS3, RS4, RS5)!
Great review Thomas. This new TTRS looks amazing, and that exhaust note.....Sensational. Audi appear to be at the Top of the Design game again. I really love this new generation of Audi cars that are coming through now. Beautiful Elegant Design, along with quiet stunning performance figures. The attention that Audi put into their cars, must be best in industry. Thanks once again to the team @ Autogefuehl, for this great review of this iconic Audi sports car. Regards Mark.
One update considering the seats: part-alcantara is optionally available, for the middle part of the seats. Still they are using animal skin at the outside of the seats even then.
Just returned from the Audi dealer in Augusta, Georgia USA; he is soooo right about the TT! Drove the regular coupe with DSG and 6 speed. The shifts were IMMEDIATE and the car thrusts forward incessantly and flawlessly! Planning to purchase.
Thanks! My TT has black leather seats with Alcantara inserts that really hold you to the seat!😂😂😂. Would you happen to know of any business that can replace my black Alcantara suede with a body-matching Dakota Gray Alcantara for 2012?

I've been looking forward to your review as i'm looking to upgrade my MK2 TT RS to the MK3 version. Looks like a great update especially the lighter engine. Thanks for the best most detailed review Thomas.
this is the best car review i've seen yet. i love it! and plus, the car is a killer! plus the 5 C sound is surprisingly very beautiful. and the interior is wow! dude...omg!
Enjoyable review, Thomas! I don't think anyone can review better than you, great detail. Catching up on some of the reviews I missed before I subscribed.
Car pooooorrrnnnn !!!! I drove a TTS a few days ago, I thought it was a monster of a car ... I can't even think TTRS would be yet faster :O Thanks Autogefuhl for the formidable IRL review !
Just subscribed after seeing this review, well made and great detail typically good German quality ;-) also having a test drive in a few weeks at my local UK Audi dealer, very tempted to buy the Coupe version in Nardo Grey and trade in my BMW M235i..
Superb review. Covered everything. Love the colour/ grill/ interior and of course engine. Not a fan of the alloys& fixed wing so much. Keep the reviews coming please!
I am in love with the coupe. Phenominal sound. My only complaints are the lack of rear seat space as sometimes (a few days out of the week) i have a friend in the back seat, also i don't really like how theres no screen in the middle. Other than that its an amazing car
One thing I'd like to suggest to autogefühl is to make the channel a bit more organized. Put banners or something like that in the thumbnails, with different colors for different types of videos (full review, quick review, short clips etc.), I sometimes have difficulties finding the full reviews between the other stuff. thanks! keep it up!
TOP!!!
Which one is better Audi ttrs cabriolet or the 718 boxster. The old boxster was amazing but with the new engine the porsche doesn't sound as good and is the ttrs convertible cheaper than the boxster s ?
Hey Thomas, great review!...I had a question, what car do you own or would love to own? You come across as someone who would've owned a SAAB at some point hah
Love the Video, and i think when you analyzed the way the acceleration is "Harmonic" because it's a Quattro is very accurate, i personally own the TTS model and when i drove the 911 Turbo recently i felt the "Kick" you get when accelerating with a car that's not Quattro, it was a very different experience from the TTS, but i liked the TTS more because of the fact that it's both Aggressive and Soft at the same time, which is perfect for everyday driving, the 911 had this aggressive acceleration that you instantly get pushed back into the seat, and i enjoyed it but it made me think it wouldn't be a suitable option for everyday driving, plus the TTS has a very smooth ride, and a better suspension in my opinion. Thanks for the Video
Hi Thomas, great review as usual. How does the Porsche 718 Cayman/boxster compare? You said that sportster was probably the best for fun? If price was not a consideration which has the better handling? Thank you.
thanks! I think I talked about the 718 a little bit, didnt I? Have you watched our 718 reviews? ruclips.net/video/CT1JNv3Pk_M/видео.html ruclips.net/video/7qiBwfNhWc8/видео.html
Hi, thanks for the awesome review as usual! I am currently looking at buying a 718 Cayman, but was wondering which one would be more enjoyable and fun to drive: the TT RS or similarly priced 718 Cayman? I really do like how TT RS sounds, but other than that (and the power/acceleration) is it any better then the Porsche?
Hi. I owned a 981 cayman s for a while. Personally I would never buy with the 4 cyl engine. Balance and agility will be better than this TT RS as it's RWD and mid-engined. But the TT RS will adapt on every roads, even when it's snowing/cold outside. Also the 718 cayman s PDK is only 50kg lighter than the TT RS. TT RS has 4 seats, 5cyl 400hp and AWD. I'm looking for a car I can drive year long as there's a good amount of snow during winter over here. If it wasn't snowing over here, I would buy a RWD car. Also EVO recommended the basic RS suspension over the magnetic ride if you are looking for more agility.
Simon b. Thank you. I'm not too worried about AWD since it almost never snows here in South-East UK and I have a back-up AWD diesel car which I can use for practicality and bad weather. So I don't really need AWD and rear seats (especially since I don't have any kids or friends to be using those seats). So all I'm looking for is something that can be driven daily, relatively comfortable, can be used for short road trips and importantly is enjoyable to drive. So what I am thinking is that I really do much prefer the 5-cyl engine in the TT RS to that in the Cayman since it sounds better and is more powerful. However, other than that, I'm not sure whether the TT RS is better?
Flat-6 engines sound amazing. When you compare them with a 4 cylinders turbo, it's a big disappointment, specially when the car cost even more than the last generation. Not having to go in the snow, I would buy a rwd car for sure. A used cayman gt4 would be amazing! For daily driving a cayman gts. It's too bad the cayman gts doent have the 4 dots headlights like the new porsche generation.
Simon b. yes, the old sixes were amazing, its a shame that the new 718s aren't available with those :( GT4 is a bit too pricey for me to be honest... I can get the GTS, but the insurance is going to be more expensive I think I might actually get the 718 Cayman. Apart from the sound, its a brilliant car. New PCM is great to use, which is very important to me, and it looks sharp and balanced. I like the new colour as well, Graphite Blue Metallic Thanks for your advice, sir :)
The only Porsche that is faster from 0-100 than the TTRS is the Porsche 911 (991) Turbo. Porsche 991 (997) turbo is slower with 3,9 seconds than the TTRS.
Great review. But you didn't mention what kind of a driving feel you have. Do you feel what is going on under the tires through the steering wheel for a "connected driving feel" (vs. most Japanese cars which have a "disconnected" or "numb" driving feel). Has any one else driven this car or own one? What do you all think about the "driving feel"?
Danke Thomas, another excellent review from you. Was really interested to see the all new Aluminium I5 engine....until you opened the bonnet (hood), that is.......it sounds awesome but what have they done covering the engine in all that plastic! I have an RS Q3 and the engine is much better visually with the cast red alloy cover on full display and barely a hint of plastic. oh yes. id also love to have one of those TTRS steering wheels in my car with the grippy alcantara and the Start/Stop button and drive select.
our impressions and judgement are live-on-tape to give you the most authentic experience, however for information and background, there is a huge preparation involved - keeping up the greatest effort for you guys
Thomas great review...but I think you can have the TT RS without the fixed rear spoiler as a no cost option and according to the original Audi TT RS catalog you can have the seats with alcantara.
About the Audi: I think this TT RS is quite the best looking roadster today and it has a fantastic engine indeed, but as far as the driving is concerned, I'd still rather go for a Boxster.
I currently own a TTS which is very quick, so do I need an RS? I'll always be tempted! The specification on the soft top here is delightful. Ara Blue and the 20" alloys - thank fully not in black - is sublime, though I would de-select the fixed wing for the electric one.
Is there so big difference or gap in pleasure of driving basic auditt 2.0 TFSI and TTS or TTRS? I see it like having house with nice one bathroom or 2 or 3 nice bathroom? I dont need 2 bathrooms, I am happy with one but nicely done
Great channel. Thanks for all your thorough reviews. Quick question: I have noticed that the last few reviews have great definition but are less "cinematic." Are you recording with a different camera? Thanks
You are right. I had not noticed the high frame rate when looking at your videos on my phone or iPad. When looking at the footage on a bigger and better screen (iMac 5K), you can see it. I think it is the result of recording at 50fps. Again, thank you for the great reviews!
GREAT review. You said it was one of the best sport cars. How does it compare with the 718 Cayman. Which in your option is better? Can you do a comparison against the two Audi TT RS vs 718 Cayman S.
Dear Thomas, you say it is still comfortable enough to be a daily driver. May I ask if that car had the standard suspension set-up or the magnetic dampers? Thanks!
The fixed rear spoiler is a nice touch, it makes it look special! Also, I think the carbon ceramic brakes should be specced, because the TT is front-heavy and a bit less weight on the front may make a difference in handling (apart from the new 4-wheel drive system, which sends a really big amount of torque to the rear axle!)! Also, that door chime is the same found in the Bentley Bentayga! Nice touch! And, I've seen a photo showing a new TT-RS painted in a light green colour, almost like a Lamborghini! Do you know the name of that colour? Also, can someone order it in Glutorange?
Brilliant review. My only bugbear is the quality of the roads. This clearly is the UK. In the U.K., these wonderful cars might be less enjoyable. These are, maybe, 75% of the fun of the R8 V10 plus but for 45% of the money. In my opinion the TTRS shouts good taste whilst the R8 V10 plus shouts conspicuous consumption..... but hey what do I know!
Really like the TT, mainly for that classic 5-cyl engine!, the Nardo grey roadster with brown leather would be my pick. Have to comment though fixed wing ruins the silhouette, would have preferred an activated wing for the roadster version ( fixed wing on roof version is alright ). Supreme cabin environment, ergonomics and ambiance. Harman Kardon new owners of Bang and Olufsen ( since 2015 ).. top marks to Audi virtual cockpit for setting the standard and now being copied by a few automakers'. Would have liked to see how you would fit in the back of coupe version Thomas ( just for reference sake ). Top stuff there Thomas, another very satisfying well detailed review!
Great review. It will be posible put a chrono in the screen wen you test the acceleration 0-100 Km/h, for compare the real acceleration versus claimed. Thank's, good job.
This is a fantastic review of a fantastic car. Interestingly I demand cloth or alcantara seats from Audi and Porsche for years and I haven't heard someone else do it. I'm more than glad you demand it so clearly! We're on the same path Thomas. Leather isn't the best material for seats and an option for the customers to choose from shouldn't be too hard to facilitate in the production circuit. Until now, they haven't listened though.:-)
Indeed a Great Review and Car, what else people need more than that...Please if you got the chance in the upcoming reviews to make more pure driving scene experience as the one at the the end of the review please go further more with it...Greetings from Egypt
Thomas, there's been a few problems with the turbo in the audi TT 2016 (IHI IS20 TURBO) And the TTS (IHI IS38 TURBO) , there is a Technical Service Bulletin regarding the failure of the turbo in very low mileage.. Do you know if the new generation of the 2.5 TFSI cylinder engine still uses a Borgwarner K16 turbo or did they change for a higher version of the Bad IHI turbos? I want to buy one and I'm nervous about that. Thank you!!!
Both IHI turbos (the IS20 and the IS38) are for the 2.0 turbos for the TT and A3, and the TTS and the S3. My concern is that Audi will with the new 2.5 TFSI 5 cylinder for the TTRS will also use a bigger turbo of the IHI Truro Brand. I couldn't find anything on the new 2.5 TFSI engine, only the past generation, that's why I am asking you, but if you don't know it's OK I appreciate your time.
Hi Thomas l have long awaited on your review of this car....the Roadster in Thomas Ara blue, gets my vote... simply stunning presentation... but l hear it's production has been delayed? should be due here in the UK cone February?
June 14 2024: Just purchased a 2016 Audi TTS coupe; love it!!!
I love how the 5 cylinder sounds like a mini v10 from an R8 or Huracan. Very unique and unlike any 4 or 6 cylinder!
Agreed. Im also surprised at how good it sounds, its amazing!
From more to more I´m convinced that they are gonna react with de Boxter with un upgrade...
I agree it's awesome ..but I have a S3 and id say it has a similar engine rumble
Check out how the launch control does not leave ANY trace of rubber on the ground when accelerating hard!
LOL you are like the Car Review Surgeon. You go so much further into detail than any other reviewer. Much appreciated.

Great review Thomas. This new TTRS looks amazing, and that exhaust note.....Sensational. Audi appear to be at the Top of the Design game again.

+Daniel Gaskell 👍remember to pick cloth or alcantara seats if available
Thanks! My TT has black leather seats with Alcantara inserts that really hold you to the seat!😂😂😂. Would you happen to know of any business that can replace my black Alcantara suede with a body-matching Dakota Gray Alcantara for 2012?

Thanks for a great review. I love the rs. In Canada we only have the choice of the coupe but really a more practical choice for every day driving. Also we have the option of a electrical wing that elevates at 120 km speed. Hi, thanks for the awesome review as usual!

Great review. Very detailed and gave lots of info. Do you know if either of these cars had the optional sport exhaust?
that is included in the TT RS
Two comments, thanks for the review and I wouldn't buy this car because of the wing just like I didn't for the Porsche GT4. Carry on.

Just re-checked, partly. You can get Alcantara in the middle, but still animal skin on the outside instead of leatherette.
great review!!! keep the good work!
with your support !
Great Review & I can't wait to buy my Audi TTRS...😎🚗💨
thanks enjoy! Try to get the Alcantara seats :)
Also in Belgium we say 'let op drempels' ;) Enjoyed this review again!
🙃👌
I dont need 2 bathrooms, I am happy with one but nicely done
you ll be fine with a normal TT.
Great channel. Thanks for all your thorough reviews.
Quick question:
I have noticed that the last few reviews have great definition but are less "cinematic."
Are you recording with a different camera?
Thanks
No we are still using are general equipment. Do you any other point what makes you feel that way?
You are right. I had not noticed the high frame rate when looking at your videos on my phone or iPad. When looking at the footage on a bigger and better screen (iMac 5K), you can see it. I think it is the result of recording at 50fps.
Again, thank you for the great reviews!
verry nice already 400 ps imagine chip-tunning MTM or ABT, is there Audi Magnatic Ride on the new TTRS ?
GREAT review. You said it was one of the best sport cars. How does it compare with the 718 Cayman. Which in your option is better? Can you do a comparison against the two Audi TT RS vs 718 Cayman S.
seen our 718 Cayman review ?
Dear Thomas, you say it is still comfortable enough to be a daily driver. May I ask if that car had the standard suspension set-up or the magnetic dampers? Thanks!
I'd rather take the TT or TTS for daily driver
Autogefühl Thanks for your reply. But if you had to have this RS, is it livable day-to-day in city driving in Comfort mode, do you think?
No. Dont take the RS then.
Great Review Thomas!
I would wrap it the first day at arrival. I'm sick of all the assholes and their brothers who scratch your expensive car out of envy.
Brilliant review. My only bugbear is the quality of the roads. This clearly is the UK. In the U.K., these wonderful cars might be less enjoyable. These are, maybe, 75% of the fun of the R8 V10 plus but for 45% of the money. In my opinion the TTRS shouts good taste whilst the R8 V10 plus shouts conspicuous consumption..... but hey what do I know!
ya indeed, for every day driving the S or normal TT is also better than RS
at the end it looks like Driveclub or Forza Horizon game hehe fantastic!
Couldnt even have gotten in there without hitting my head =)
What would you rather have? A 3 year old Boxster or new Audi TTS (no RS in America)?
listen to the review, talking a lot about boxster vs tts :)
Thanks for another great review on two great cars.
+james mccool 👍👍
How is the steering feedback/feels/feed of the Audi TT RS ? is it numb (as told by others car analysts) ? Thx!
and if you compare it to the Porsche Cayman?
didnt I mention in the review?
and compare boxster/cayman here: ruclips.net/video/y1wYshcPmpw/видео.html
Best car i ever had , very good review here.
thanks pal!
The Thomas blue is back with the new Audi TT ;-)

+Joe Enck awesome joe!!
Indeed a Great Review and Car, what else people need more than that...Please if you got the chance in the upcoming reviews to make more pure driving scene experience as the one at the the end of the review please go further more with it...Greetings from Egypt
we'll try
Thomas, there's been a few problems with the turbo in the audi TT 2016 (IHI IS20 TURBO) And the TTS (IHI IS38 TURBO) , there is a Technical Service Bulletin regarding the failure of the turbo in very low mileage..
Do you know if the new generation of the 2.5 TFSI cylinder engine still uses a Borgwarner K16 turbo or did they change for a higher version of the Bad IHI turbos?
I want to buy one and I'm nervous about that. Thank you!!!
sorry dont know :/ Is it for the 2.0 Turbo or the 2.5 ?
Both IHI turbos (the IS20 and the IS38) are for the 2.0 turbos for the TT and A3, and the TTS and the S3.
My concern is that Audi will with the new 2.5 TFSI 5 cylinder for the TTRS will also use a bigger turbo of the IHI Truro Brand.
I couldn't find anything on the new 2.5 TFSI engine, only the past generation, that's why I am asking you, but if you don't know it's OK I appreciate your time.
Hi Thomas l have long awaited on your review of this car....the Roadster in Thomas Ara blue, gets my vote... simply stunning presentation... but l hear it's production has been delayed? should be due here in the UK cone February?
thanks james! hmm dunno
Absolutely love this channel and I love this car even more! I may have to trade my S3 for one of these, or maybe just a TTS :)
=)
