- Alastair Bennie sure knows how to rip a mean skid. Try 9000rpm in 5th gear, that's some serious tyre speed! We caught up with him at the Holden Drag Nationals at Heathcote Park Raceway for a close up look on the RB30 turbo engine and manual transmission combination in his Holden VL Commodore turbo.

I had a R31 Silhouette that had lots of Rajab Racing parts in it in the early 2000's, still a single cam, Textralia clutch & a built 5 speed, put a Hilux diff in it too
I'm building an R31 now. Any pointers?? Why Hilux diff over original? Any resizing needed?
I raced against JPC with RBs before 98, e85 or the internet was invented. 12s was quick, 11s were very rare 😆

I know Aussies love their burnouts but M/Ts dont like that much burnout, 1/3 of that would be more than enough lol. Thats a sweet ride and love that Liberty too, good luck and enjoy.
There was a prize on offer for the best burnout at that event :)

A couple of observations; it looks like it has too much spring rate and not enough damping. This is likely the source of the suspension “pumping” at the tree.
Also, the 150-meter burnouts are over-cooking the tires.
Stylish, but hurts the elapsed time.
Nice fast car all around otherwise.
Peddling the car and competing for most decent burnout prize coins on the day.
